Summary: Wonderful mouse, OK keyboard, good overall
Review: A gyroscopic mouse takes a few hours to get used to but once you get the concept it is very simple to operate. I use it for HTPC so ability to operate without desktop surface is very useful. The keyboard is somewhat small. Keys are smaller than IBM Thinkpad keys. The small keyboard size works very well for HTPCs.

When I installed a receiver station and trained with a keyboard only it was giving missing keys problem (the same as for one of the reviewers). As soon as I trained a mouse AND a keyboard problem disappeared completely and keyboard did not give a single failure or missing key.

Overall a very good package with attractive price.

I was considering two new Logitech Bluetooth keyboard/mouse suites but choose Gyration due to a mouse that can be operated in the air. No regrets so far.

Computer professionals would not like location of the left Ctrl key. It is next to Fn key in the left bottom corner. The same as in Thinkpad laptops.

Summary: It is great and easy to use!
Review: I have had mine for a week. I have the Model GP 9110. No problems what so ever. I haven't tested it out to 30 ft but to about 10. The mouse is awesome! I don't find it slow to use it against any surface. And to use it in the air takes no brains, just hold the trigger. Let off the trigger to park the cursor. The mouse is ergonomical for my hand and probably for almost everyone else's. The keyboard it small and light. It is also pretty quite to type on. Some people might prefer a bigger full size keyboard. The only critism I can make is that it wasn't cheap. Installation was a breeze. Thanks Gyration!

Summary: Gyration Keyboard and Oversensitive Mouse
Review: I really loved the style and compactness of this keyboard/mouse at first, but then noticed after a few months how the mouse because so extremely sensitive. You can barely lay your hand on it without it clicking when you don't intend to click it.

The keyboard is a little small for fingers (ok I'm 5'9" so maybe it's just me) and honestly, I spilled an increment of water on the keys once, and about 2 or 3 months later certain keys didn't work anymore. That might be my fault (but I swear the water was barely a few drops). Also finally, the letter "e" sprung loose and the key sticks up, so I am unable to use it without repositioning it each and every time. I would say I am NOT the type of typer that pounds the keyboard either, not at all.

So with all these problems, I am going to have to trash it, which seems a real waste when I paid over $100 for this unit.

Summary: Good product, a bit expensive
Review: OK. First of all I have to mention that the reason I bought this set is because of the mini size radio wireless keyboard.

I use it at bed and the light weight mini size keyboard is a lot easier to handle than a heavy full size keyboard, and I also like the tactile feel of the notebook type keyboard.

There is not a lot of other alternatives out there, given my requirement.

The logitech bluetooth set is 30% more expensive and requires a bluetooth stack to work, versus the gyration just works out of the box requiring no driver to be installed.

There are other taiwaness mini size keyboards but they either use outdated infrared technology or are more expensive than this set.

The gyrascope in the mouse works but is not exactly a pleasant experience to use.
It's rather cumbersome and you'd be frustrated soon except maybe using it to doubleclick-launch a program from your desktop or scroll a page or two on your browser. You'd rather use the mouse on a surface instead of in the air whenever you can.

The mouse movement is a lot faster than normal desktop mouse when using on a surface - I guess this is part of the engineering design which otherwise would make the gyrascope too painful to use in the air.

The mouse requires regular charging, which is inconvenient. Typical wireless mouse like the microsoft one can last months, so I guess that the gyrascope uses quite a bit of power to operate.

The metal charging contacts on the mouse wears off quite fast and you have to make sure that the mouse sits perfectly in the charging cradle otherwise it won't charge properly.

Also, the scroll on the mouse behaves quite differently than MS or logitech mouse. It's a lot less sensitive and you need to scroll a couple more times in order to cover as much ground as the MS/logitech mouse does.

One last bad thing I have to say about the mouse - I originally bought a used set from ebay and the gyrascope just doesn't operate properly. It turns out that the seller had once drop it on the floor from several feet - so beware that it's quite fragile compare to your typical "low-tech" wireless mouse.

There's only one thing I want to complain about the keyboard - the layout. Like the ibm thinkpad, the Fn key and the Ctrl key are misplaced. If you use Copy & Paste (Ctrl-C Ctrl-P) a lot like most people do, it's frustrating that you'll press Fn-C Fn-P all the time - which does nothing.

What I do to remedy this problem is to download a freeware program to remap the keys. Note that the Fn key is special that it's only "visiable" to the keyboard, your operating system won't know it when you press it. In other words, you cannot remap the Fn key. What I did instead is to remap the Caplock key to behave like the Ctrl key. A lot of unix users are accustomed to that (older unix keyboard have the ctrl key resides in where the caplock key is), so I'm trying to get used to it. So far it's working out for me.

I'd never imagine that I would drop that much of $ for a set of wireless keyboard and mouse (most I have spent on a keyboard/mouse is $50 max) and I'd still rather not if there are other cheaper alternatives.

To be fair though, when it says it works from 30ft away, it actually does. I'm now typing 5 feet away from the receiver and the gyration set works wonderfully, while my MS wireless explorer mouse skips from time to time (but still bearable, as I prefer to use it on a surface instead of the gyration mouse, given all the shortcomings I mentioned above).

Hope this helps for all potential buyers.

Summary: SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: Okay, at firstI thought maybe it was me. Nope, i am close enough (8 ft). Yes, thjs does say it is accurate to 30ft. So, no, it isn't me. At first, I had problems with both the keyboard and the mouse, so I figured hey, it's probably the receiver, so I went to the place I got it from, and it they just exchanged the receiver. Great, the mouse works awesome. BUt the keyboard SUCKS. Maybe its the batteries........nope, thats not it either. Maybe I need to change the channel on the keyboard...nope thats not it either. All in all, the kb just sucks. Here is a short demo of me typing at a normal pace, about 40 words per minute:

is is adem of the keyboard tying a senteene.

Now, with my Logitech cordless keyboard, "accurate to 5 ft," but sitting 10 feet away:

This is a demo of the keyboard typing a sentence.

Bottom line, DON'T buy the package, buy the mouse only. The mouse works amazing, maybe even more than 30ft and I love using it in the air.

Summary: The definitive presentation mouse (once you get used to it)
Review: The Gyration mouse is your average optical mice, but with one big difference: a gyroscope inside the mouse that let's you operate the mouse 'in the air' and without line of sight, up to 25ft. Personally, I prefer a normal desktop mouse when I have a desk, but in 'deskless' situations, such as surfing the net from your couch or in boardroom meetings, this is the definitive solution. There is a 2 hour learning curve with this mouse, but it becomes natural after a while.

A wireless, tiny keyboard also comes with this combo. The keyboard is *very* light and also has excellent range, although it is a little too small for comfort as it has the exact dimensions of a typical laptop keyboard. Great if you have very tiny hands and are used to a laptop , but I much prefer the big desktop keyboards, and my fingers are a little slimmer than the average male's.

Aesthetically, the keyboard/mouse combo also look very nice.

The Mouse
------------------
Pros:
- The gyroscope works extremely well when you don't have a desk or are in a deskless situation (ie. your couch)
- You can use it on a surface like a normal mouse in addition to 'in the air'
- 25ft of range is accurate (worked great for me at 20ft through walls)
- *the* boardroom/presentation mouse

Cons:
- Battery drains a little faster than conventional wireless mice, and will require a charge every two days
- you will have a hard time with games in 'gyroscope' mode, unless you're very accurate in making small movements with just your wrist
- Does not have the conventient 'back' and 'forward' buttons other mice have
- Mostly convenient when one needs to do tasks without a desk

The Keyboard
-----------------
Pros:
- *very* light
- good operating range
- small
- looks nice

Cons:
- because it's small, it may be uncomfortable for some with bigger fingers
- The media keys are not configurable, and there is no software/drivers for it

Overall, I'm very pleased with the mouse. I rarely use the keyboard, however, due it's small size that is less comfortable as a full sized keyboard. I would immediately recommended it if you're really need it for deskless situations, but otherwise if you work at your desk most of the time, a conventional wireless with more features is the way to go.

Hint: Double click the trigger button to go into 'triggerless' mode

Summary: High quality product that actually works
Review: The surprising thing about this product is that the mouse is not a gimmick. It actually works with wrist movement rather easily and has a trigger activation mechanism which makes the technology very usable (you need to hold a trigger on the bottom of the mouse to allow wrist movement to move the cursor). I thought I would be resorting to using the mouse in a normal optical mode but I find myself using the wrist movement more and more as I master the technique. I was also pleased by the high quality construction of all of the components. The keyboard is especially nice because it does not have the thick cheap build of most keyboards on the market. Instead the keyboard is more like a notebook computer's keyboard with very nice feeling feedback from the short travel keys. The keyboard is thin and compact which makes it good for use on the couch in front of a home theater PC. The mouse is a huge innovation in human interface technology and the set is executed in a high quality package at a very fair price. I would also recommend getting the GA103 spare battery / charger so you will not be left with a dead mouse.
