Summary: You get what you pay for...
Review: Microsoft's newest optical mouse seemed more expensive than others on the market, but you definately get what you pay for. The mouse itself fits very comfortable in my hand, and the new tilt wheel is much faster than manually clicking to get to other applications. The mouse also comes with software to customize it's additional buttons to perform windows tasks, or launch specific applications. While I have already had to replace the batteries after just 2 months, as another reviewer noted, I'd say this is a small price to pay for the strong craftsmanship of this product. Also, I did not have any above mentioned signal problems with my notebook that others have mentioned, just keep the base station within 4 feet of the mouse, and it should be smooth sailing! All in all, this mouse is a great buy.

Summary: Micrsoft vs Logtech
Review: Ok, I admit I'm a mouse freak. Thats understandable because I use this instrument as a webmaster all day long. I use a variety of applications from Dreamweaver and Photoshop to Log Analyzers and the usual office apps. I want a precise response to my movements because by the end of my day I'm tired - extra movement is a pain.The short: I use the Microsoft wireless intellimouse explorer M03-00041 at home where I have occasional use, I use the Logitech MX 700 wireless at work where I need the most precise control. Does that tell you anything? The MX 700 is by far a better mouse - period. Mind you, I'm not throwing away the Microsoft because while it is less precise it does get the job done and I don't mind useing it part time at home but the Logitech is the workhorse for me.

Summary: Comfortable and Smooth
Review: This is the most comfortable mouse I have ever used. The minute I felt the smooth scroll, I was sold on it. I've been using the Intellimouse Optical corded mouse for quite a while, and I liked its five buttons. The buttons have been greatly reduced in size and moved on the cordless version, but after a day or so I liked the new button positions even better. Also, the tilt left-right scroll is convenient when you need it. The cordless is a terrific improvement over the older version, and the cursor is absolutely precise with this mouse--great for detailed graphics and also for games.

Review: This is worth the money. The cordless factor is excellent for use with laptops. Keep in mind, though, that the base unit has a cord, (it is not one of those ones that looks like a USB key) which may become annoying if you want to pick up your laptop and go without disconnecting your mouse. Also, since this uses 2 AA batteries, it is heavier than the average mouse. I like this, but it does take some getting used to. The backwards/forwards thumb buttons work great for surfing the web, and the scroll wheel works better than others as it is smooth, not jerky. Truthfully, the side-scrolling feature is pretty useless for most people, but if you work with large picture files and high resolution images, it is extremely helpful. All 5 buttons are easy to assign and change around. Finally, I have had absolutely no problems with the connection, though several other reviewers have complained about this. All in all, an excellent buy, especially for laptops.
