Rating: Summary: big let down Review: I am an architect, so I need a mouse for my laptop that is wireless and has a scrolling button. this mouse was great at first - if not a little pricey ($45 at the time)but after about four months it started going on the fritz. at first I could give it a shake or adjust the batteries, but it became more and more difficult to keep it working consistantly. it tended to be very slow to react - and since it has no ball I knew that it didn't need that kind of cleaning. I've tried to take it apart to clean the lense, but even after the four screws come out, it's still locked together. I did that twice today, but it's officially dead after a measley 8 months. I depend on my mouse for my work, and because fo this I doubt I'll be consciously buying another logitech product any time soon.
Rating: Summary: A Comfortable, Compact Mouse with an ON/OFF Button!! Review: I bought this mouse to replace by generic USB wheel mouse that I was using with my Dell Inspiron 8000 laptop computer, which runs Windows XP Pro. This mouse was a breeze to install. There are two parts, the mouse and the receiver - can't get much simpler than that. Turn off your computer, plug the receiver into a USB port, put the 2-AA batteries in the mouse, turn on the mouse and fire up the computer. Windows XP Pro found the new hardware right away. To "synch up" the mouse, just press the Connect button on the receiver, then press the Connect button on the bottom of the mouse, install the software (CD provided) and off you go. What I love about this mouse is that is doesn't feel like a tiny, notebook mouse. It is sturdy and has some weight to it. Another great feature is the ON/OFF button (THANK YOU LOGITECH!!) so you don't suck the life out of double A's or rechargeable batteries. Logitech also provides a neoprene soft case for your mouse. I have always used Logitech mice on my desktop and have always been happy with their products.
Rating: Summary: Won't last long Review: I have had this Logitech mouse for 3 months now and it is almost entirely useless. The batteries become too weak after 3 days and the cursor is jumpy and won't move across the screen. I don't know if the laser has become weak or the transmitter has died. The mouse does not turn off after sitting idle. You have to remember to turn it off everytime you leave your computer. I would strongly recommend another brand if you're looking for a mouse that will last.
Rating: Summary: Very Nice Mouse for a laptop, only one problem. Review: I have owned this mouse for quite some time and really like it. The only thing I wish it had was the new forward and back buttons on the side. This is nice when browsing. The "ON/OFF" button is nice to save batt's. I bought rechargeables NiMH, but then again I put rechargeables in all my electronics. Very nice feel though and efficient on the power.
Rating: Summary: The best laptop mouse I have ever seen Review: I have tried several other wireless mice before I purchased the Logitech one. The first thing I noticed when I open the package is how good its build quality is. The buttons are so nicely weighted and the range of the RF receiver is adequate for laptop. Highly recommend this one for people looking for a REAL GOOD mouse for your laptop!
Rating: Summary: An Amazingly Handy Accessory! Review: I just had to write a review to say how much I love this mouse! It fits well in my hand and the buttons and wheel have a comfortable feel to them. It can be used with either hand, so you don't need to get seperate ones for righties and lefties. The optical sensor makes it easier to use for me than a traditional mouse - I tend to sit on the floor or sofa a lot while I work and it can actually be pretty far away from the sensor and still work fine. (I even worked with my arm draped over the back of the couch just to see if it would work that way, and it did - comfy!) It has a good little zippered carrying case with it. In my case I didn't even have to install the software for its drivers. I just plugged it into my gateway notebook and it worked immediately. The only thing I can think of that would potentially improve this product is if it went into sleep mode if it wasn't used for several minutes to conserve the batteries, but I like it despite the fact that I have to remember to turn it off. So far, battery life seems to be pretty good. I would recommend this product without reservation.
Rating: Summary: Excellent product!!!! Review: I just purchased this item from Amazon a few weeks ago and I love it. It was easy to set up (I am running XP home on a Dell P4). The best part is that I didn't have to load the included software to get it to work. Simply plug in receiver, turn on your PC, turn on the mouse and push the connect button on both devices. Then it worked!!!!! I highly recommend. In response to the other reviews indicating "hard" to push buttons, they are A LITTLE stiff but not an issue. Todd.
Rating: Summary: Heavy Review: I liked almost everything about this mouse. It was a convenient size, worked very smoothly with no delay, had a handy on-off switch to save batteries, a travel pouch, and the USB transmitter was fairly small. So what's not to like? In my opinion this mouse felt like a lead weight. It's personal preference, as I've seen the heaviness referred to as "a good weight," but if you like your mouses light this one's not for you.
Rating: Summary: Great laptop mouse Review: I purchased this mouse for use with a new Dell 8600 laptop, after months of using a tiny Targus corded mouse with another laptop. What an improvement! This unit is very responsive, has a solid feel to it, fits well in my hand, and when compared to a desktop unit it is smaller in size (convenient for travel) without being annoyingly tiny. It is a highly desirable upgrade over other laptop input devices. As with most Logitech products, it is easy to install, is very accurate, has a quality feel, and allows quick setup for each use. One reviewer wrote that the buttons offer too much resistance, but I have been a huge fan of such tactile feedback since purchasing my first HP calculator back in the early eighties. To each his own! I find the cordless function to be even more beneficial with a laptop mouse than it is on a desktop unit, and the on/off switch is a nice touch to save battery life when the unit is not in use. All in all, I find this to be the best laptop mouse I have used to date. I would give it four and a half stars if possible, since all products can be improved. But since that is not an option, I give it a five as being the current cream of the crop.
Rating: Summary: One computer device that works like it should Review: I purchased this mouse when I transitioned from my old desktop into a new laptop. I was just looking for a way to help keep the cord clutter down to a minimum. Logitech is a brand name that I've grown to trust in the past however, this devise has far exceeded my expectations in every way. First is the design the mouse, it is large enough to cup into the hand reducing finger and wrist strain. Second is battery life, I have run consistently everyday for at least two months before changing the battery and when the battery started to go it was noticeable with out be obtrusive, meaning I could limp along for a little till I found the chance to run to the store. Thirdly is it's connection strength to the computer, most of the time when I plug the USB device in to my machine it automatically connects to the mouse, no pressing the connect button. Fourth is the size of the receiver, wow is it small and it all fits into the zipped pouch that comes with the mouse. Lastly is the optical sensor, I've run this mouse on all kinds of surfaces, white melamine, photographs, and my couch cushions, every time it is precise and fast. This is one purchase is am thoroughly pleased with.
