Rating: Summary: Great Mouse Review: Great mouse. All other mouses (or is it mice) feel awkward after using this. Only problem I had was the sensor screwed up (the light wouldn't come on) after using the mouse for about 6 months (maybe it's just me).
Rating: Summary: No more dirty mouseballs! Review: Quite simply, this is the best mouse I've ever owned. Why is this?1) It is optical, which means no moving parts to get gummed up with hair, food, dust, etc. I used to have to buy a new mouse every six months or so because even after my futile attempts to keep the mouse ball clean, they would still not work exactly right over time. And there's nothing more frustrating than a non-responsive mouse... 2) Say goodbye to your mousepad. This thing, amazingly, works on just about any surface. Want to navigate on your jeans? No prob. It's one less thing to worry about keeping on your desk. 3) The "intelligent" roller is a time saver in a big way. This is basically the same feature as it was in previous intellimouse products. 4)It *glows*. I haven't met anyone who hasn't thought the red glow coming from under the mouse didn't look way cool. This mouse is worth every penny if you ask me....
Rating: Summary: Best mouse one can buy. Review: I bought this mouse a couple weeks ago. I have been happy with it ever since. I plugged it right into my USB port and Windows 98 found the software and I was off. All I had to do was install the software to customize the side buttons, the installation took no more than 3 minutes. I use one button to double-click and one button to view the desktop. But that isn't the main reason I bought the mouse. I have a laptop and I like to use it in my bed. The mouse-stick thing and the fingerpad aren't as great as a regular mouse and I don't have anything for the ball of the regular mouse to roll on so I'm stuck. This mouse I can you on the covers of my bed, on the sheets, anywhere. It's great it always works. I recommend this mouse 100%.
Rating: Summary: This mouse has balls...well, not really Review: I have been using my Explorer Mouse for a few months now, and I have to say that I'm impressed. The Optical Eye technology has completely done away with the ball and roller concept of traditional mouse pointing devices. I no longer need to worry about gunk gathering inside the mouse on the rollers or ball, and I never have to worry about sluggish performance from a grungy old mouse. Not to mention the cool red light glow that the Explorer mouse gives off, and the space age silver color and ergonomic shape. I was skeptical about this new mouse technology at first, but now I am a true believer.
Rating: Summary: No more mouse ball.. Review: I am very impressed with this mouse. It got a lot of attention from my family. The movement is precise and the design is very attractive. The only downside I see, is the inability to use on a glass top surface, of which I have my mouse on top off. Still, on the normal mouse pad, it glides easily and flawlessly. The two side buttons are convenient for browsing the web; Internet Explorer shorcuts for back and forward.
Rating: Summary: wowie Review: I can't believe I'm saying anything positive about a micros**t product... I like this mouse better than any other mouse I've ever used! No more moving the mouse around to get the ball unstuck!!! My husband used it for a CAD drawing and said that he finished it in half the time it would have taken with the standard ball mouse. We originally hooked it up to PS/2 and then switched it to the USB. The mouse performs noticeably better with the USB. However, we gave the mouse two thumbs up even when it was hooked up to the PS/2. We'll never go back!
Rating: Summary: No balls Review: This new Microsoft Mouse can't be beat! The red light at the back is cool looking and you can turn it off by putting your computer in sleep mode. Mac people will be amazed that you can now Right-Click! The scroll wheel is much better than scrolling devices that you just hold up because with the wheel, you can control the speed. Whenever I want to go to the top of the document, I click the wheel and hold it down (Yes, the wheel does click) and move my mouse all the way up. In 1 or 1 1/2 seconds, I'm at the top of my document. This is just great. The side buttons are a god send because I have a permanent DSL connection and am always on the internet. I like to be reading a book in Microsoft Reader [and] have the mouse cursor placed over the Next Page button and lift the mouse off my desk and just hang it and my hand by my side. When I want to go to the next page, I just click! You can shake it as much as you want while it is not on your desk and not have it move! Also, when you put the mouse down, it does not move. It just stays where it is! Try to do that with a balled mouse. If I could, I would give it a 6 out of 5 stars (Math professors, just ignore that)...
Rating: Summary: This is GREAT! Review: I just received this gem in the mail today. I quickly plugged it in and turned on my computer. I didnt know what to expect. As soon as windows booted up, the mouse was onscreen and I reached for the mouse. IT MOVED SMOOTHLY; SO SMOOTH THAT I WAS PLEASENTLY SURPRISED! When I removed the mouse pad, it worked even better. I no longer have doubts about this mouse. It WORKS GREAT with a mouse pad, and works FLAWLESSLY WITHOUT A MOUSEPAD. Other people complain about the software, but you dont even have to install the software for the mouse to work. And I find that the software does it's job, nothing less and nothing more. But if you are deciding whether or not to get rid of that nasty old ball mouse, stop deciding and buy this, IT'S GREAT.
Rating: Summary: No serial support Review: Looked all over this animal and can not find any serial support. Some people don't have ps2 or USB ports.I am not cheap just old. Well if I want to use this it looks like upgrade time or the computer. Mean while I can look at the little red light. Oh that also needs a ps2 or USB. I will just put it near the system and people will thingk I am into the latest equipment.
Rating: Summary: Very Good Review: I think the IntelliMouse Optical is a very good product, it has smooth pointer control, but I noticed a noticeable (1-2 sec, much more with other mice) delay when right clicking in Internet Explorer (I'm using the mouse in my PS/2 port, but I don't know if that matters). There seems to be a delay in other programs (ones with built in support for Intellimice) though not as severe. The wheel is not as tight as other wheels (on other Microsoft mice anyways), it's not really a bad thing, and it's just not like the others. Other than the delays it is very good and quite comfortable to use. It takes a bit a time to get used to the extra buttons, but once you do they are bit of time saver (even compared to keyboard shortcuts). I would recommend it to people fed up with cleaning their mouse, need a pointing device that is smooth and accurate or that love new techno-gadgets, but if you have a mouse that isn't jerky and doesn't need to be cleaned often, then you don't need this mouse.
