Summary: Small and Handy
Review: I don't know why I waited too long to buy a small, convenient optical mouse. It's a great value and works very well with a notebook. The retractable cord is a convenience and the size is just right for working on small tables such as on an airplane tray. It is also very attractive and looks expensive. It comes with a small carrying case which can fit nicely in your pocket. For the business traveler with a notebook computer, forget the built-in trackball in your notebook and invest in this modestly priced mini optical mouse from Targus.

Summary: Great mouse while it worked...
Review: I don't like using touchpads and I got this mouse for my laptop about 6 months ago. I use my laptop a lot and take it from meeting to meeting, and absolutely loved this mouse - its size and retractable cord made it really easy to take around with me.

The only issue was its short life span: it died on me last week, without warning. No LED light, nothing. By reading the other comments, it looks like I'm not the only one who experienced this issue.

It is so convenient that I would buy it again, if Targus updated this model. For now I think I'll stick with a sturdier model, even if it is bigger.

Summary: Nice Idea, Lousy Scroll Wheel
Review: I thought this would be the perfect accessory for my laptop, which I carry with me every day. I am a web user who relies on the scroll wheel to navigate pages, and no sooner did I throw out the receipt and packaging (thereby eliminating chance of returning it), the scroll wheel started failing frequently. Now it only catches a fraction of the time. I'm disappointed.

Summary: Very handy but somewhat fragile
Review: I've had my Targus minimouse for somewhat less than 1 year. Generally, it works fine. Recently, it has begun to act up: the pointer wanders leftwards across the screen at times, and; double clicking now requires triple and quadruple clicking.

The mouse is VERY small and a bit awkward to use. By contrast, the Microsoft M20 is somewhat larger and seems more rugged.

I am going to replace the mini Targus with the Microsoft mouse soon.

Summary: Great
Review: It is an excellent mouse. And I like the PS2 adapter, which allows us to use either PS2 or USB port.

Summary: It's very handy, not built that well though
Review: It looks awesome, feels awesome and the click buttons are quite good. But I was dissapointed with the scroll button, it didn't work well, it kept getting stuck, sopmetimes the button was rolling but the screen wasn't scrolling. Otherwise it's a good buy, and totally worth the price

Summary: Nice Idea ... not very solid
Review: Mine's still working after 9 months although it's a bit touchy (i.e. unresponsive) at times. I find it helps to full extend the cord. The concept - a mini mouse for my laptop with a little memory on the side - is a great one. But the quality is only fair.

Summary: Lovely until it breaks
Review: My husband's gone through two of these. When the mouse button on the first broke, he chalked it up to bad luck. When the second broke, he bought another brand. Fine mouse, great ergonomics, but it only lasted a couple of months.

Summary: Apple Loves It Too!
Review: So when I received this item in the mail, the packaging said it required Windows (there was nothing on there that said Mac. So I got nervous. And wanted to assure everyone it works just as well on an Apple, (at least on my PowerBook anyway...) It's a great, small mouse with a really nice black pouch to put it in. It works well for on the go. For long periods of time when you're doing intensive mouse-only activities, the extremely small size can start to hurt your hand, so for those times you'd want a larger mouse for more comfort. But this looks so cool, is designed so well, and even comes with a little pouch so I must say I love my new mini-mouse. :-)

Summary: Excellent Small Mouse - Short Cord
Review: The Targus Mini Mouse is available in a variety of versions: optical and standard, USB and serial, and with and without the scroller wheel. All of these have about the same size and shape -- about 2/3 the size of a standard Microsoft Mouse. This smaller size is great for kids and for folks with smaller hands because we often find the smaller mouse less tiring to use.

We have several of these mice and are quite happy with them. Other than one in which the left mouse button switch gave out after about 4 months, they seem to be dependable. And for us, installation couldn't be easier. We use them on a variety of plug-and-play systems with Microsoft OSs (Windows 98 SR2, Windows 2000, Windows XP). Installation is as simple as plugging the mouse in.

However, one caveat is that although this is a great mouse for any purpose, they are really made for use with a laptop and therefore the cord is relatively short -- about 3 feet long. This just isn't long enough for some setups, like a tower CPU under the desk.

Finally, I don't know whether it was on purpose or not, but the ergonomics of the physical shape are a masterwork. It is a shape that fits right-handers naturally. Surprisingly however, lefties can use this mouse comfortably without swapping the mouse button mappings in the OS. It's actually more comfortable for the left hand than the plain oval shape adopted by other manufacturers as an either-hand approach.

All-in-all they are decent products for a reasonable price. -- Scott Loban
