Rating: Summary: This is an awesome piece of hardware Review: This is a beautiful piece of engineering that ought to be in a museum. Although it folds small it's a perfectly good keyboard when opened out. It's better than a lot of keyboards I've used with desktop machines. One complaint is that text editing software lacks support for some things that I'd expect with a 'real' keyboard such as working 'Home' and 'End' keys. Also don't expect to use this keyboard on your lap on a train say. But otherwise it's a really solid device worth the money.
Rating: Summary: great accessory for the Palm! Review: These things are some of the coolest I have ever seen! Who'd have ever thought they'd make a full size keyboard that folds up to about the size of your Palm?! It makes the Palm SO much easier & usable! I highly recommend getting one of these for your Palm!
Rating: Summary: Very Helpful Device Review: I bought the keyboard used from the Amazon used marketplace and it came unused. It is an easy to use keyboard which folds into a little box. Espescially for long notes on travel this add on is a must. (...)
Rating: Summary: Palm Keyboard Is Essitential Review: The palm keyboard is a must for anyone who needs to type quick! I am a student and I use it to take class notes. You can assign up to 10 programs and it can do almost anything on your handheld! It folds up nicely and works great. I give it 4.9 stars because sometimes (not a lot, in fact very little) It gets a little stuck when you try to push the keys together. Thats not a majopr problem though
Rating: Summary: The Palm keyboard surpasses expectations... Review: A friend of mine recently purchased the Palm Portable Keyboard, and at first I was skeptical. The price tag seemed heavy, and it appeared to be just another toy. But after he allowed me to borrow it for use with my Palm m105, I was amazed. The keyboard surpassed my expectations. It is a light, easily portable device and I found myself using it often. Graffiti writing seems agonizingly tedious and primitive when you own one of these. The keyboard is especially useful for taking notes in a school setting. I recommend this product to all owners of compatible Palm PDAs, it's worth the cost. Have fun!
Rating: Summary: The Truly Compact Keyboard Review: I think I've had a Palm V ever since there have been Palm V's. Now I actually have two. Despite that, I'm not really an enthusiast. For the most part I use the device for phone numbers and notes. I'm not particularly fond of the Graffiti alphabet, and generally make my notes using a sketchpad utility or the internal keypad. The Palm's advantage as far as I was concerned was that it was not a laptop, i.e., I could slip it into a pocket.About a week ago, while travelling, I wanted to write a review while the book was fresh on my mind, and I had no access to a computer. I did have my Palm with me so I decided to write the review using it. I quickly realized that Palms are poor tools for writing anything else but short notes. Since I still had no desire to buy a laptop I decided to pursue another alternative first and bought the Palm Portable Keyboard. After a few moments of sticker shock, I found myself in possession of a strange box-like device that unsnaps and folds itself into a keyboard with a stand for my Palm V. It only took a few moments to get the software for the keyboard loaded down to my Palm, and then suddenly I could have a Palm with a keyboard any time I wanted. Considering that it folds down to less than the size of a paperback, the keyboard itself is nearly full size. Action is pleasant and positive. It feels a bit flimsy, which is not a surprise, and needs a firm surface under it. Given the physical limitations, it is a tidy piece of engineering Through some ingenious use of special function keys the keyboard can not only enter all of the Graffiti characters, but also do a pretty good job of replacing the pen for many functions. Don't plan on getting rid of the pen completely, though. There are still places where only the pen can perform the needed command. For my purpose, writing long memos, the keyboard is perfect. Despite its price, it's a pretty ideal palm accessory. If you use you palm mostly for keeping your schedule the keyboard is less useful, and can probably be done without. It's nice to have the option available, however.
Rating: Summary: Grafitti Relief Review: This keyboard is just what the doctor ordered! Small enough to be easy to carry around yet large enough to use without having to hunt-and-poke. My only concern is that it feels like it might not withstand years of use, although I have not had a problem yet after six months. It was also expensive, but it has been worth it for me, a heavy Palm user. Your mileage may vary....
Rating: Summary: AWEASOME! Review: Ok, i lvoe this thing. I can type 80 wps and can tke notes maybe around 40 wps with a pen or pencil. I always hate sitting at a lecture and missing stuff cause I can't write it down fast enough. This thing solves my problem. I type the stuff, and cna READ IT! When I write notes really fast they are illegiable, this thing solves all of my problems! It is light, small, and very efficiant. You'll love it.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant design, great accessory Review: You won't believe how well this little keyboard is engineered. It folds up just a bit bigger and thicker than a Palm, in a nice zippered nylon case. Unfold it, and you have a keyboard to rival that of a laptop computer. Now you can sit in your hotel room and enter business cards (if you don't have one of those fancy scanners) or notes and memos. Use it at meetings to take quick notes to transfer back to your PC at your office. Use it on an airplane instead of a laptop to write notes or enter expenses easily. This keyboard is a great addition to the Palm and really adds a lot of utility. If you don't carry a laptop everywhere, this is almost as good.
Rating: Summary: It Makes A Cool Phone Directory! Review: This review is intended as a supplment to my earlier post (dated August 3, 2001). I found a way to use the Palm Keyboard as a cool phone directory. At work, I now attach my Palm to the keyboard -- and leave it on my desk not far from the phone. To look up a number, I simply press the "phone" button on my Palm (like I normally would), type in the name (or just the first few letters) -- and hit "enter." The number immediately appears on screen. I no longer need to tap, write or scroll down the screen to find an entry. And typing it is usually faster and more accurate. I'm now more productive at work. And looking up phone numbers -- even for persons with whom I dread speaking -- is no longer the chore that it used to be! I think a better name for this product would be, "The Palm Phone Directory Keyboard." What do you think?
