Rating: Summary: Difficult to clean - not recommended for dirt-prone areas. Review: After having used this mouse for about a year, this mouse started behaving erratically, most likely caused by lint and other dirt in the mouse wheels. Trying to clean it is rather difficult, because they cannot be kept in place. Thus the mouse could not be "revived" and finally jammed completely. Short, Logitech's mouse is easier to clean and therefore lasts longer.
Rating: Summary: Nice mouse Review: I bought my Wheel Mouse about a year ago. This is probably the best mouse you can get at a good price. Its like a Microsoft Intellimouse and a Microsoft Basic Mouse combined into one, keeping the Intellimouse Wheel and the Basic Mouse shape and feel. I like this much better then the Intellimouse.
Rating: Summary: Excellent product at a reasonable price! Review: I bought this mouse about 6 months ago and I haven't regretted it. It's from Microsoft, yes, but that shouldn't deter anyone from not getting it if you need a reliable, easy-to-use mouse. The wheel is not annoyingly sensitive and the scannability of the pointer movements is sleek and accurate. The mouse fits virtually any sized hand. MS Wheel Mouse is also ideal for right or left handed people. If you need a mouse that has no cheap frills, but is high on quality and efficiency, I recommend the Microsoft Wheel Mouse. If you need somethign more "upscale", try the Microsoft IntelliMouse with IntelliEye.
Rating: Summary: microsoft wheel mouse Review: I had been using a logitech 3 button mouse, but really wanted the web wheel, so when I got the MS wheel mouse i was very excited :) However, the laptop i'm using has a port replicator, and when you use the port replicator ps2 mouse connection, the laptop can NOT see the type of mouse you have, or any special features of the mouse. So...I thought, maybe I can get it to recognize it if I use the serial connection instead...voila...I was able to install the microsoft wheel drivers, and it works perfectly. Unfortunately, I am still unable to change most of the configuration options in the wheel mouse config, but the actually wheel itself does work when scrolling windows are available. With a normal desktop machine, the mouse works great, and I can use all the config options that are available. I've used the mouse with both Win98 and Win2000 with great success. The ball does get dusty, so if you are concerned about cleaning the device, you might want to consider the new microsoft wireless ones with the red light... This mouse really is just the same as all the previous ms mice, with the addition of the wheel (doubles as a third button). It's also ergo designed for either the right or left hand, and only takes a little getting used to if you switch back and forth (you can set the config in control panel to treat it like a left handed mouse if you want). All in all, a quality mouse, fits comfortably in the hand, and is very inexpensive.

Rating: Summary: Microsoft Wheel RAT Review: It's nice but it doesn't work with a laptop. My serial port is connected to my Palm Pilot so I have to use the PS/2 port for the mouse... and guess what--the wheel doesn't work properly. And I have learned from the source--that is, Microsoft--that this is always the case: the wheel doesn't work properly if the mouse is connected to the PS/2 port on a laptop. I was told to replace the mouse with an optical mouse and connect it to the USB port. Why oh why doesn't Microsoft simply say this in the marketing materials? That would save people who are using their serial port the hassle of returning the mouse and buying another mouse. DUH!
Rating: Summary: Perfect Mouse.. Review: This is a perfect mouse.. I would take this mouse over any other in the world. Its the perfect size for any hand, its comfortable, easy to install, and the wheel is handy. Not only is it the best mouse I have ever used...but its one of the CHEAPEST!
