Rating: Summary: Everything you need in a mouse. Review: A mouse is one of the most important pieces of hardware in modern technology, and that's an undeniable fact. It's the most common interface between the user and the computer, so it's important to find a mouse that's reliable, functional, and built to last. Taking these important aspects into consideration, I'd like to say that the Wheel Mouse Optical is among the best mice you're likely to find.I owned a previous incarnation of the optical mouse, also from Microsoft, and it unfortunately broke when I slammed it on my desk in a fit of rage after losing a particularly intense Quake match... Not one of my better moments, and certainly the same could be said about the mouse. The buttons popped off and wouldn't click right, so I had to retire it... But this mouse feels much more durable than the past mice I've owned. It's feather-light, but at the same time has a very solid feel to it. No matter how hard I squeeze the case, it won't budge. Installing the mouse was also devilishly easy. Simply shut down the computer (Which is extremely important if you're using the PS/2 port), pop out the old mouse, plug in the new one, fire up the computer and you're on your way. Don't be suckered by the extra software you'll find packaged with the mouse; I guarantee you don't need to install it. Need proof? I'm using Linux, which wouldn't know what to do with the software even if it wanted to. Among other things, the mouse is extremely ergonomic. I've used my fair share of mice, and I tend to find that most other ones try to make your hand conform to the mouse, instead of the other way around. I found this mouse to be totally comfortable in any position, under any circumstances. The human hand has a natural curve to it, and this mouse complements that curve in a very comfortable fashion. Microsoft has outdone themselves with this mouse, in my opinion. It slides well on all surfaces, the optical technology is extremely responsive (Even on my face :), and I've had nothing but the best experiences with it. If you're looking to take the next step in technology, but don't want to break the bank, this is the perfect way to do it. You won't find a better mouse or a better deal.
Rating: Summary: Microsoft Mouse, got'a love it! Review: Easy to install! Easy to customize to your specific needs!! And oh so easy to use!!! The scroll wheel is great! I can't say enough good things about this mouse. Except maybe that the price is the best, ANYWHERE!
Rating: Summary: Great Mouse Review: Great mouse, comfortable, appealing. Only one problem is that it didnt work on my semi reflective keyboard tray, however it worked perfectly when I put it on a mouse bad. A great basic Optical Mouse, no cleaning!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Mouse Review: Great mouse-I just bought a brand new system and I went through 2 mice (both ball and track types), somehow the mechanisms in those things invariably get filled with dust and kills its accuracy. This baby does not have any of these problems, the light glows-very high tech-and it incredibly accurate without the headache. An excellent deal!
Rating: Summary: Excellent value for a straightforward mouse Review: I got this mouse while Microsoft was offering a ...rebate, so my cost through Amazon was [low] after the rebate. For that amount, you might expect this to be a low quality product. And you'd be wrong. This is the best mouse I've ever owned. I've always been annoyed with traditional roller ball mice, with how they quickly pick up gunk, become inaccurate, and require constant cleaning. Those days are over! The other reviews talk about how accurate this mouse is, and how it never requires cleaning; quite true. What I didn't see mentioned was how light it is compared to traditional mice. I never thought of an old-style mouse as being heavy, but this is noticeably lighter. This was an unexpected, but much-appreciated benefit. Another big plus for me is that it isn't loaded with a zillion buttons that I'd never use. I just wanted a basic mouse, and that's what this is. If you're a lefty like me, you'll also like the fact that this mouse is symmetrical. Most of the more expensive Microsoft mice are shaped specifically to fit the right hand. I can't say whether those feel more comfortable for right-handed people; all I can say is that the shape and size of this mouse is just about perfect for me. Even at its normal Amazon price ...this mouse is an excellent value. If you can get it at its rebate-assisted price ...it's a no-brainer. I'm going to buy a few as gifts!
Rating: Summary: Excellent product Review: I have been using this mouse for over a year now. I love the fact that I don't have to clean the gunk from around the ball. Another plus is you don't even need a mouse pad. It works practically anywhere. My 6 month old daughter loves the little red laser light that emits from the front of it too. Great product for the money.
Rating: Summary: Better than any other mouse I've used. Review: I have been working with PCs since the mid 80s and have used many brands of mice ( mostly with that damned rubber ball). This MS optical Wheel mouse is far and away the best with unparalleled control and smoothness; it leaves the old ball-types in the dust.
Rating: Summary: Best Mouse on The Market Review: I have used this mouse for over a year with Windows 98SE and Windows XP Home. I was a bit surprised that XP had no driver update, but it works fine just the same. I have yet to find a superior mouse. Trust me, I have looked. I recommend this product without any hessitation to anyone looking to replace the traditional mouse. It functions even without a mouse pad. I doubt that there is a better product out there.
Rating: Summary: Love it! Review: I just received the mouse and I love it! True that it could be a little heavier, but it's great to use. I don't know how I ever did without it!
Rating: Summary: Beautiful in the dark Review: I love it. No having to clean mouse wheels. No cleaning a mouse pad. Can use it on anything. If the lights are out, it makes a lovely red glow like a small night light.
