Summary: Ok mouse for the price, suggest a different logitech mouse
Review: This mouse is okay for the price. I would suggest a Logitech MX, a little bigger mouse for comfort. A mouse with more than three buttons is suggestable.

Summary: Great Optical Mouse
Review: I now own two of these style mice from Logitech. My original mouse on my computer and now the mouse I just bought for my wife's computer. I use a Mac G3 and my wife has a Window ME machine. Both mice are great. I will never go back to a ball mouse again.

Summary: 2 years and still going
Review: I purchased this mouse a couple years ago when I was having problems with my HP OEM ball mouse...back when it cost about ... I've used the mouse with win95/98/me/2k/xp with both PS/2 and USB interfaces, and it works fine. Although there was a plug and play error with Win95/98 with USB. Plug and Play tried to install drivers for both a "human interface device" as well as a "PS/2 compatible mouse", and it everytime the machine would boot up, it would inform me that system changes were made and would ask to restart. I then went into the Windows Device Manager and disabled one of the devices (I don't remember which), and then I was never prompted to restart again. ..I blame this on Windows plug and play, not Logitech. If I would have installed the Logitech software, instead of relying on plug and play, I would not have encountered this problem. No plug and play problem with newer versions of windows. All in all, it's a great mouse!

Summary: the better optical mouse at this price
Review: Well, i bought this free a few weeks ago with rebate. What else can you say about a free optical mouse? But just ignore the rebate, I own this optical mouse and another one: Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical. They are comparable in price, but this logitech one is clearly the better choice. More responsive, comfortable, accurate, better feel, better look, ....... Logitech products haven't disappointed me so far. I guess no matter what Bill does, Microsoft can't stiffle competition here. Microsoft is just not that great on hard ware.

I gave only 4 stars because this mouse is not perfect, of course. More $ can buy you a better mouse. But this is a great value for the money (even without rebate).

Summary: This is a great mouse!
Review: This is a great mouse! I acquired the Logitech Wheel Mouse Optical Blue to replace Microsoft Wheel Mouse and I am quite happy with it. Slightly smaller than the Microsoft Wheel Mouse, the logitech mouse fits the hand more comfortably. It tracks extremely well on a just about any surface - mousepad, desktop, or even your leg if you use it with a laptop. The mouse has a very smooth and precise high-quality feel to it, allowing for extremely good finger-tip control. The old trackball-type mouse feels quite junky and primitive by comparison.

It comes with a USB connector and a PS-2 adapter, allowing it to be adapted to most systems.

Summary: Close to perfection!
Review: This mouse is a boon if you are still using older rollerball based mouse. Its very smooth and very responsive and less prone to wear and tear. On top of that it has the swanky red glow underneath shouting for attention :-).

The only thing missing on this mouse is a set of two extra buttons on the sides for going back/forward while browsing. As a workaround I have programmed my wheel-click for Back button and I don't think forward is as much useful for me.

I've been using this very happily since last 1 month.

One piece of advice: try to use this with a dark, preferably black, mousepad/surface since the darker the surface the more responsive this gets. I guess its true for all optical mouses.

Summary: A Gamer's Must-HAVE!
Review: Another great artifact from the makers of computer add-ons! Logitech has surpassed itself this time with the revolutionary LASER optical mouse that has changed the usage of the simple mouse forever. This is definitely a mouse for GAMERS as pro-gamers would tell you that the freedom of reflex movement that were previously inhibited before, due to the collection of dust and "fluff" is virtually non-existant now thanks to this new way of mousing it! Just think, you can actually play games (albeit with slight difficulty) from the comfort of your bed! The mouse actually moves on the bed surface (as long as the sheets are flat!)

I gave it ONE STAR for its reliability (after all Logitech IS a really reliable brand when it comes to buying items that you can use and know they are versatile and would last ages) and I've dropped this mouse about a gadzillion times now and it hasn't died yet (touch wood!)

I then gave it ANOTHER STAR for it's superb packaging. It comes in the form of a very professional looking glazed blue cover and translucent bottom that you can see the red laser light come out from! (Tip: For gamers that like the "all-out" feel of gaming in the dark with atmosFEAR, this red laser light glows as you move it and it provides you with THE ultimate gaming experience in atmosphere as well as providing smooth cursor movement)

Then I gave it ONE MORE STAR for the FIVE buttons that it has: Scroll up, scroll down, left button, right button and button 3 which is found by pressing the whole scroll button! Talk about excellent command binding!

Yet ANOTHER STAR for its shape and size. My fingers are stubby and short and I don't like pressing on a mouse button so hard to activate the clicks and most mice are hard to press down on. The sensitivity feature may not be enjoyed by all but I certainly like it! I barely have to press the lowest edge of the left mouse button and the thing actually CLICKS!

The FIFTH STAR I threw in (and I knew I had to) was for its great support for both versions of ports. I used to own a really old computer that would only support PS2 mice and the package comes full with its own changable USB to PS2 port plug heads! Practically everyone that I know who is a hardcore gamer like me owns a mouse like this. It's great for 1st person shooter games like Half-Life: Counter-Strike and QuakeIII!

About the only thing that bothers most people and myself about the mouse is that the clicks become a necessary annoyance in sound pollution! However, modders (who play around with the accessories to tweak them) add holes to make more light shine out and/or take out the little thing in the scroll button to remove the sound. Unfortunately, this also reduces the fun of feeling the scroll click as it moves.

Gotta HAVE this product!

Summary: Great for Mousing but cheap wheel
Review: I just got it today. I went from a ball mouse to this optical mouse and was very impressed with the way it glides. Buttons feel very nice also. But the wheel feels cheap and is a little annoying since it is not fluid but instead is very "clicky" and feels inconsistent from turn to turn (not nearly as good as the wheel on my old microsoft intellimouse). It was truly plug-n-play on my windows xp-home system though -- no need to install the software on the cd-rom that came with it. Overall, It's a keeper.

Summary: very cool mouse
Review: I own one of these, and i can tell you that they are the most precisely controlled mouse's that i have ever used. The optical infared laser lets you "off the mouse pad", and on to new levels of use that a mouse has never seen before. You won't have to worry about skipping, or freezing, or dirt getting in the mouse anymore, because there is no ball! I highly reccommend this to all computer lovers.

Summary: The Perfect Mouse
Review: I just set up my new mouse, and I love it! It is extremely comfortable, fitting perfectly into my hand. I still am using a mousepad just because it makes it glide smoother, and boy is it smooth. The scroll wheel is a must-have once you've used it for a while, so that's great too. Took me about 10 seconds to set up in Windows XP, I didn't even have to use the CD that came with the mouse.

If you're going for an optical but corded mouse, this is the one to get. A+ product.
