Rating: Summary: This set is amazing. Review: I love this keyboard and mouse set. I have never had a problem with bad connection except in the very beginning (the instruction manual does not point out the connect button on the mouse and it is miniscule and I could not find it.) The battery life on the keyboard is amazing. I have not yet changed the batteries and I have had it for 3/4 of a year. The mouse batteries last for about a month. The mouse is very durable. I have dropped it repeatedly and the worse thing that has happened is the batteries have popped out. The extra buttons on the keyboard are great. There are 9 buttons which you can program to open certain applications plus a volume control button, mute, rewind, fast forward, next track, previous track, pause/play, stop, open media player, back, and go. There is also a scroll wheel on the keyboard. The mouse has four buttons and one scroll wheel.
Rating: Summary: Best Computer Accessory Buy Ever! Review: I primarily use this product for gaming...I hook my laptop (Compaq Presario 700z) to my big screen and play people all over (using my wireless internet) while sitting on my comfortable couch...The keyboard and mouse combo, both have a sweet design and come with lot's of cool features... If your worried about constantly replacing batteries no need to worry, with regular daily use the batteries should last you 4-5 months. I think that's amazing it being an optical mouse and such... The only problem I encountered with this product is that the driver for the keyboard and mouse conflicts with the feature buttons on my laptop, so that was a bummer. But overall I like this product and put my trust in logitech for all of my "big boy toys"...
Rating: Summary: Great to get rid of the cords Review: I've had this for about 6 months, and I'm very pleased with the performance. Do yourself a favor and get some rechargeable batteries, though. Also, the mouse appears to work much better on a white mousepad-- don't know if there's any scientific basis for this or not. I've seen "glitches" only a couple times with the keyboard, which seem to have occurred when the transmitter couldn't reach the reciever very well (I have the receiver in a drawer nearby). Easily cured by placing the receiver a little closer by. Overall, great performance.
Rating: Summary: Very useful product Review: My table looks neat since I got this one. Works well without problems, though battery life of the mouse is a small issue.
Rating: Summary: most comfortable keyboard yet Review: Although I'm not a huge fan of the mouse, the black cordless "freedom" keyboard from Logitech is the most comfortable keyboard I've ever had the pleasure of using in 10 years. The "extra" buttons are fully programable, which makes my life much easier when I want to pull up notepad, google, or my ftp program. The keys have a gentle resistance which makes them a pleasure to type on, and are fairly quiet. And this model comes with a detatchable wrist-rest - handy because I can detatch it, useful because most people really need it. And the wireless feature is wonderful: no messy cords all over the desktop and it works everywhere. Finally, battery life for this keyboard is excellent - I've had it for a year and only changed them once, even though I use it every day for extended periods of time. All in all a great buy, especially if you need and like the mouse - they both use the same receiver.
Rating: Summary: i would like to recommend this product Review: however i have had a lot of problems with it. Firstly Installation is a breeze under xp. everything worked right off, including all the special "keys" on the keyboard. I was pleasantly suprised that the volume control just worked on every application i tried, including games. Then i noticed that the mouse tracking was very wonky. I have a wood grain desk. My old MS optical works fine on it, however the logitech optical does not. I tried quite a few mouse mats and all of them gave poor results. In the end i was forced to use a white sheet of paper to get the tracking right. Next came the hanging. I am an avid game fan and play warcraft 3 a lot. 9 out of 10 times, the mouse and kb would freeze under WC3. I tried the lastest logitech drivers, but no joy. Lastly the batteries. The claim is a couple of months of use out of them. My first set of batteries lasted 2 weeks in the mouse. I thought maybe the set in the box might be old so i got more batteries. I tend to go through a set of batteries every 5-7 days. The keyboard is still going strong after 4 months. I have had to give up on the logitech mouse and now just use the keyboard. But be warned, the software and drivers do not like another mouse plugged in ( i have my old MS USB optical ). I have to tweek my machine every time i start it to get the logitech software not to conflict with the usb mouse drivers.
Rating: Summary: Nice but watch for the Rebate Review: Suprised (sort of) to see someone else had the same issue I had with the rebate - said I sent in the wrong upc for my product - 4 or 5 emails later, they finally realized that they assumed I was claiming the mouse only and not the combo mouse and keyboard (why, I have no idea since the paperwork clearly stated the rebate was for the mouse and keyboard). SO they recommended I resubmit - problem is I didnt have the UPC anymore - I sent it to them - they "lost" it or destroyed it. So now they tell me they cant process it because I dont have the UPC - go figure - Product is excellent but I agree with the other buyer - dont count on getting the rebate back. Incompetent (in my opinion) sums up the whole experience.
Rating: Summary: Watch out for the REBATE! Review: I sent in my rebate request in October and still haven't received it yet! It's a nice keyboard and mouse, but the rebate center is totally incompetent. First they said that I sent in the wrong UPC because they thought it was for $10 for the mouse only instead of the $20 for the combo. Now it looks like they are sending me $10. It's been totally frustrating working with Logitech (parago.com)to try and get my $20 back. So do NOT buy this based on getting the rebate back. You may strike out like I have.
Rating: Summary: Takes some getting used to, Review: But all in all this is a sweet little package. The keyboard is great, all of the extra hot keys are well laid out, especially the set of media keys located at the top center of the board, the volume wheel is a really nice addition and though it feels a bit flimsy I can't see how it could break very easily. The keyboard also sports an "F Lock" option which converts all of your F keys into short cuts and hot links to parts of your computer or apllies universal commands for most applications. All of the hot keys are large and well labled, which makes using them a pleasure, especially in comparison to keyboards like the Microsoft Internet Keyboard Pro, which had very small and hard to read hot keys. The mouse is a bit awkward especially since I have large hands, it takes a little getting used to but feels really solid/well built, allthough I still plan on purchasing a separate mouse. The mouse also includes 4 semi-programmable buttons, it is by no means as diverse as Microsofts programmable mice(i.e the Intellimouse Explorer with Intellipoint software), which is a bit of a let down but it serves it's purpose well. Set up was a breeze the instruction are pretty cut and dry and you shouldn't have to read more than a few sentences before your up and running. Like some other reviewers I had to go to Logitechs site to download the lastest versions of their software so that my combo would work better with XP, but now that I've got everything up and running I'm actually really pleased with this package. Absolutely recommended.
Rating: Summary: So far, so good - no complaints here Review: My Keyboard & Mouse are 6months old and both seem to be doing just fine. As a matter of fact I put mice through some fairly rough treatment as all online frustrations usually get released via the poor little mouse. As a matter of fact, this mouse has undergone some very rough treatment and remains in good working condition... (the last pointing device from iogear, didn't last 3 weeks before it fell prey to the frustration)
