Rating: Summary: Not suitable for Desktop Computers Review: Not mentioned on the box, is the fact that this thing only has a 3 ft cable, useless for a desktop computer. It would be real nice if the manf would include this information. I'm returning it to the store, and I WON'T be looking at another Belkin.
Rating: Summary: Great mouse! Review: This is a great mouse for mobile users. It's a minimouse which means it is more compact and smaller than standard mice out there. I can't believe a reviewer complained about the mouse being too small - its supposed to be small! ON that note, it's only about 33% smaller than a regular mouse - making it a bit more convenient for mobile users, while still being large enough to be functional (I have big hands and even I didnt think it was that bad).I also saw people saying it only has a 3 foot long cord, which is false. I just measured the cord and it is almost 6 feet long - plenty of cable, especially since it is designed for MOBILE users and is MEANT FOR USE ON LAPTOPS. If you want a regular sized mouse, get a regular mouse. The small size makes this mouse ideal for people who want to use a real mouse with thier laptops (those touch pads and pointers are a pain) but think a regular mouse is just a bit too bulky to carry around with them everywhere. The mouse is also a USB device, and worked perfectly with plug and play on my windows XP home edition laptop. I plugged it in, and it worked - that was it. They also include a USB to PS/2 adapter - which is nice. Even when using PS/2 as an interface for the mouse I didnt really need to install any drivers for it to work (scroll functions included) and it didnt need batteries or anything like that either, all power came through the cord. This mouse is also an OPTICAL mouse, meaning it has no rubber ball to clean or worry about. This also means that it has very smooth and precise control and can be used on almost any flat, non-reflective surface. This is GREAT for mobile users as you can use the mouse on your thigh or a book - meaning it wont be a pain to use on the bus or plane!! The scroll wheel is great, as expected and means that you dont need to sacrifice funtionality for portabnillity (I cant live without a scroll wheel!). As if that weren't enough, it's extremely light, attractively designed, and is fairly comfortable considering it's small size thanks to an ergonomic design. It is also designed to work for both RIGH AND LEFT HANDED people. A great mouse for people on the go.
Rating: Summary: Great miniature for your notebook Review: This mouse is PERFECT for people like me who, with their laptops, are fine with the touchpad/eraser head for short periods of time, but like to unwind with a normal mouse for longer periods of time...Or if you flat out can't stand your touchpad/eraser head for any period of time. The size of this mouse is excellent for mobility. It fits into very small spaces, i.e. into a compartment of your notebook carrying case. It's shortened cord (5-ft) is brilliantly employedto accommodate people using it with their laptops. It's never too short, or too long. It's an optical mouse, so you can expect the same razor-sharp accuracy you would with any full-sized optical mice. My notebook is running Windows XP, and interfaces flawlessly with the mouse. I just plugged it in and it worked! No set-up required. Such is not the case with older operating systems, but the mouse comes with an installation disk to guide you through it.
Rating: Summary: eh Review: This mouse is perfect for your laptop, but is a little small. If you have big hands i suggest a regular mouse.
Rating: Summary: Great Compact Optical Mouse Review: Yes, it DID only have a 3' cord (the newer model has a 6' cord). It's a very comfortable optical mouse, that I've had no problems with in two years. With the pointer speed set to its fastest setting, I even use it on the arm of the recliner in my living room! Can't beat if for the money!
Rating: Summary: Whatever Review: Yes, the cord is short. But I got around that by using this laptop mouse with my laptop, which I thought was creative of me. And my mouse hasn't broken, either. Nothing special...just a slightly-smaller-than-most-mouses portable mouse. Certainly a better choice than the twice-as-expensive Kensington Pocket Mouse Pro (with the nifty-sounding retractable cable), which, like other Kensington products, broke on me hours out of the box. So, Belkin. Good enough.
