Rating: Summary: Durable and then some Review: I've had my Logitech wireless optical mouse for almost 2 years. I also have pets who love to jump up on the chair where I mouse and knock the mouse to the floor. I would say that at the least, it falls from the 2 foot height once a day. I have never had a problem with this product. The other nice thing is that batteries last me about 3-4 months, and that is with near constant computer usage. The cost of the Logitech wireless optical mouse is far outweighed by its versatility, long battery life, and durability.
Rating: Summary: Eats Batteries Review: This thing really goes through batteries. Even when not in use, the red light inside still glows slightly, indicating that the batteries are slowly being drained. Removing batteries after each us prolongs battery life, but it's a pain in the .... Otherwise, using regularly requires frequent battery replacements. It's a good mouse in all other respects, but I'd much rather have the corded version. ( Are all cordless mice battery hungry? If not, which ones are most battery efficient? )
Rating: Summary: Great Mouse - Buy it Review: This is an amazing mouse. I never realized how much I would appreciate not having the cord. It is really nice not to have the resistance of a cord when you are using the mouse. My desk is also a lot more tidy. It fits perfectly in my hand. The buttons are very well laid out and the battery life is about 2 or 3 months. The transmitter works best when it is within about 2 feet of the mouse. There is no need for a mouse pad because it is optical - it works flawlessly on my light wood grain desk. My only complaint is that the blue rubber surrounding the thumb button on the side wore out and edventually fell off. No big deal. I've been using this mouse everyday for over two years.
Rating: Summary: Great mouse but poor software drivers. Review: I've bought two Logitech wireless mice as well as their wired mice. In all cases their software drivers on both Mac and Windows have not been able to slow down the cursor movement to a practical speed. It would overshoot due to moving too fast even on the slowest speeds. Finally they came out with some software to nearly completely fix the speed control problem for the older non-wheel mice. This company is apparently making the most money it ever has if you see their financials. Too bad that economic success comes with a bit of blindness to product feature quality. I sure hope they fix this problem since I otherwise like their mice but have lost a lot of money chasing their features when their drivers can't stop erratic behaviors of the cursor.
Rating: Summary: Better than Microsoft's, but still lacking Review: Side by side (I have both at my desk right now) this mouse is hands down better than the wireless intellimouse explorer. HOWEVER, it does lose its mind once in awhile and jump across the screen. 1 month is about all you can expect the batteries to last. Big-handed people will find this thing a little small. The slope of the mouse puts your wrist and forearm at a funky angle. However, compared to the MS mouse...it (1) is not nearly as heavy (2)is better balanced (3) slides easier...which makes delicate pointing tasks easier (4) exhbits FAR less hysterisis (5) wakes up faster. One thing you will notice with almost all of the optical mice is their tendency to sleep on you as soon as you stop moving them. That fraction of a second that it takes them to wake up is enough to cause a "jump". I have yet to find a wireless optical mouse that does well for fine-positioning work found in graphic design tasks.
Rating: Summary: Cordless, but Lacking Review: I bought this mouse a year ago, but had to put it away because i didn't have enough batteries to replace my old ones(which drained in 3 days). I found it a couple of days ago and decided to install it. Although the position of the hand is very weird, you'll get used to it. Still, I don't fully enjoy the mouse because it is heavy, and uses up quite a lot of battery power. Buy it if you are willing to live with the faults.
Rating: Summary: Free at last! Review: I originally got hooked on optical mice with a Logitech model I purchased five years ago. Back then, it had a cord and required a metal metal grid mousepad (very cold in the mornings) to work. I finally decided to try this mouse because I wanted something new. I love what Logitech has donne with the mouse. The comfort in my hand (which is fairly large) is great. I enjoy the cordless feature. One warning do not place the mouse receiver directly on your PC, the signal seems to get muttled (I have it sitting on my external Zip drive, which is sitting on my PC). The best feature of the mouse is the battery software. Every 2-3 months (I use this machine about 50-60 hours a week) I get a warning message on my screen that tells me the batteries are low. After trying this out I can't imagine why anyone would ever wanted to use the old fashioned mouse. I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years optical cordless mice become the standard with you PC purchase.
Rating: Summary: Adequate, but disappointing Review: I've had this mouse for probably a year now. I have no real problem with the accuracy or ergonomics of the mouse (though I haven't bothered configuring the thumb button, which isn't in the most convenient position). The battery life isn't great... certainly nowhere near the 3 months claimed by the manufacturer, but that may just be because I use the computer more often than an average person-- I can't go more than a month (and sometimes a fortnight) before I have to change my batteries. Fortunately, I'm using NiMH rechargeables with a charged set always handy, so it's not a huge issue with me. However, the biggest problem with the mouse is that it displays an annoying tendency to randomly jump to the corner of the screen every few minutes or so. I get the impression that it's not a widespread problem, having read other reviews, but it's a data point nonetheless. Like I said, I've been using it a year, so the issues haven't been bad enough to ditch it entirely, but I do plan on getting a new mouse in the not-too-distant future, and probably handing this down to my g/f, who hopefully won't experience the same glitches on her PC.
Rating: Summary: Good mouse with only a couple of problems... Review: I've had the logitech cordless mouseman optical for about six months now and find the moust to be almost perfect. The mold of the mouse fits your hand almost perfectly, and for day to day use on my Powerbook running OS X, it is wonderful. There are though a couple of problems with the mouse. First off, the batteries appear to die quite quickly, they last anywhere between a month and a month and a half. While the mouse uses two AA batteries and its not too much of a hassle to change the batteries, this does add up in cost over time and for the extra $10, it might make sense to pick up the MX700 with a rechargable base station. The only other problem I have with it is a minor quibble; the OS X software doesn't allow you to configure each program to use different buttons. If it did - it would be perfect. In the end, this is a good buy. The size of the mouse is good, the mold is perfect, and the movement/tracking works like a charm.
Rating: Summary: Great but could be better Review: I found this mouse to be a great replacement for my old wired, gummed up ball mouse. It has never lost it's connection and has a fast response time. I gave it 4 stars because I don't like the buttons (right and left). They are too small and should cover the front of the mouse. I plan on getting another one for my office.
