Summary: Smooth/Precise
Review: Two weeks ago, I bought my first optical mouse - a Microsoft "Optical Mouse Blue". Unfortunatley I soon learned about optical "jitter". I was unable to get smooth movements for small movement involving editing of digital photos, etc.So I replaced it with the MX310. Yes, this is the way it should be - small movements are smooth - like my old ball mouse used to be. It seems to glide across the pad easier than the Microsoft. And I was able to keep my old comfortable mouse pad - that I didn't want to give up for a new pad designed for optical mice.
