Rating: Summary: Excellent mouse, but charge it up before installing Review: Two years ago, I bought my first optical mouse. I instantly loved it, except the cord frequently got in my way. Recently, I decided to purchase a cordless mouse, and felt the Logitech MX700 Cordless Optical Mouse was the way to go.Besides being cordless, optical, and a Logitech product (they hold up really well), the included rechargable batteries and charging station/wireless base attracted me to the MX700. Features I became so accustomed to on my first optical mouse -- buttons to move ahead and back one page in my web browser, and a scroll wheel -- are included, so I lost no functionality. The MX700 includes three other buttons that some may find handy: one each to scroll up or down a page, and one to switch between active windows on your desktop. Personally, I have little use for these. Aesthetically, it's a sleek looking device with its black and silver matte exterior. Because of the batteries, the MX700 is slightly heavier than the average mouse, but the weight difference is negligible. I have two minor complaints about this product. First, the mouse is longer than I'm used to, so my feel for it will need to adjust. Second, it's not ambidextrous -- southpaws are out of luck on this one for now. Unless you have two spare AA batteries, this is not a mouse you can set up in a hurry. You'll need to fully charge the included batteries before installing the mouse. I charged my mouse overnight, so I can't say approximately how long it took. Overall, it's a great mouse, accurate to a fault, and PC and Mac compatible. (Good news for me, since I plan to switch to Mac sometime this year.) UPDATE, 1/12/04: I installed the mouse onto my new Mac last week, and it worked straight away without installing any drivers. To use the additional buttons, though, I had to install the drivers.
Rating: Summary: Wireless for GAMING :-D Review: FINALLY a wireless mouse that has the responsiveness needed in the twitch FPS games I play. I bought it 3 weeks ago and have had no major problem. The only problem I see with it is the price: it is an expensive mouse. For me, I saw it as one fewer cable on my desktop. The twitch response is INCREDIBLE, reacts better than my Microsoft Intellimouse Exlorer 3.0. The charging base is sitting on my tower under my desk, and the reception is just fine. Charging is a farely rare event for me, though I use it in excess of 5 hours daily (scrims, practice, general usage). I've never had the batteries run low on me. Highly Recommended
Rating: Summary: Love it Review: This mouse is great! It operates smoothly, unlike the lagging Microsoft wireless mouse that I needed to replace. Also, for the first time, I actually used the customization features with the buttons. The battery charger is also a nice feature, but be warned that the batteries do need to be charged more often than other wireless mice. It's a small price to pay for cordless freedom.....without the lag.
Rating: Summary: Great Mouse Review: I had a Dell branded Logitech corded mouse and wanted a optical cordless mouse. My major concern was finding a mouse with a comfortable size and design. This mouse meets my needs very well and no more cord. Many customers have complained about the drivers, but the ones I received dated 04/03 worked fine. Now If Logitech made a cordless USB keyboard with two built in ports.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely love it Review: I bought one for my wife and liked it so much i bought another for myself at work. I use it all day every day and it has completely lived up to my expectations. Best optical mouse I've used. Laser accuracy, cordless convenience, no changing the batteries! And, I love the "cruise" buttons. I occasionally forget to put mine in its cradle for several days to recharge it, but have found that just a few minutes of charging will fix me up for several hours of use and 2 hours will recharge it completely. One improvement that I would like to see in the next driver version is a speed sensitive scroll wheel so the faster I spin the wheel the faster the page I am viewing will scroll.
Rating: Summary: A good buy, even @ 66.84!! Review: I bought this mouse a few months ago. I still have no complaints, well maybe one itty bitty one. With the default install, the scroll wheel won't work in some games, you must set it to use the Office type scroll setup. Other than that I have had no problems with it. In gaming it is very responsive. It took me a few weeks to adjust to the feel of the infrared accuracy. After coming over from Logitechs previous ball mouse, I wonder why I waited so long!! I highly reccomend it!! The rechargable batteries are one of the best features. My batteries will last anywhere from 2-4 days with ALOT of use (i.e. gaming). Buy it, you will not regret, I promise!!
Rating: Summary: An impulse purchase I'll never regret! Review: My old mouse was also a Logitech optical, and in perfect working condition so I didn't need a new one. Then I saw this cutie in my Gold Box offers and made an impulse purchase that I thought I'd regret. Not so, I absolutely love it! Installation was a breeze, and the sleek stylish design is outdone only by it's superior precision performance which makes the huge amount of time I spend on the computer more productive and enjoyable. This mouse fits quite nicely in the hand and the freedom of not being tethered by a cord is much more of a convienence that I thought it would be. I particualrly enjoy the side buttons which allow me to move forward and backward on web pages very quickly with next to no effort at all, just a slight movement of my thumb. I was concerned that I'd be continually replacing batteries, especially if I forgot to return it to it's cradle when not in use. That is not an issue at all as the batteries hold such a long charge that I haven't had it run down at all, even after spending many hours online. To initially charge the batteries took almost no time, and overall, this mouse has performed far beyond my expectations. I enjoy this so much I bought another one as a gift for someone special, and will probably be buying several more for Birthday and Christmas gifts! If you're considering buying a new mouse, this high quality, good looking, high performance cordless optical mouse has my highest recommendations!
Rating: Summary: Great product but no support Review: Great mouse, my favorite mouse of over 8 different mice that I have bought, ... the mouse feet which fell off of my mouse and providing a tracking number for my speakers. I cannot reccomend nor will I consider purchasing any Logitech product in the future ... ... It is a shame as I really like the Logitech products I already own.
Rating: Summary: Perfect comoputer enhancement Review: Wether you're a gamer, a programer, or a web surfer, this is the perfect mouse for you. The mouse is well weighted so it's easy to keep it on your mouse pad where the optical signal is best read. There is a prolifera of buttons (7 to be exact) which can be programmed to do anything from copy and paste to bringing up a "Web Wheel" which lets you quickly browse the web. The mouse charges very quickly and never misses a beat, giving me much more accurate control over my games than all of my previous Microsoft optical mice.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Mouse Review: I never thought I'd pay this much money for a mouse, but I got a gift certificate and couldn't find anything else to buy. I have to say that I feel I made the right choice. I've used this mouse with my old Win ME PC, and I'm now using it with my flat panel iMac running OS X. I downloaded the OS X control software directly from the Logitech web site (the mouse worked through USB without the software, but the software makes it a little more configurable). The design and feel are great. Battery life seems good--I usually keep my Apple mouse nearby in case the low battery light starts to flash. Action is smooth and accurate. The mouse is expensive, but if you use the computer for hours each day, it pays for itself.
