Rating: Summary: Nice Mouse But A Power Hog Review: I really like this mouse. Installation was no problem and it works great. Only thing is that the batteries only lasted 3 days. And I was carefull to turn it off when not using it, even for a trip to the kitchen for a cold beverage. This was a shock considering I have a Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard for my desktop and have to change the batteries only every 2 months or so.I did however take the advice of another review and purchased NiMH batteries and a charger. We'll see how long these expensive batteries will hold up what with being charged every 3 or 4 days. Why Logitech couldn't incorporate some power saving elements into this product is a mystery to me.
Rating: Summary: Excellent mouse for notebooks Review: I received this mouse for my IBM T40 laptop for Christmas and am very happy with it. It is small enough to work great for mobility reasons yet robust enough to be put through the everyday tasks as a wired mouse even on a heavy business day. I'm running WinXP SP1 and installation was as easy as plugging in the receiver and following the prompts. As you can see by most of the other reviews, this is a great mouse and will meet your needs.
Rating: Summary: "The Best Out There" So Good I Purchased Two! Review: I searched several different stores and no other notebook mouse could compare to this one. The ergonomics are amazingly just right(you wouldn't expect that in a notebook mouse), the back of the mouse fits nicely into the palm of your hand, allowing your wrist to rest nicely on the table surface. Nicely weighted, solid buttons round off the package. The cordless reception is excellent (up to 10 feet away) and tracks beautifully. The neoprene case is of good quality and fits the mouse and dongle near perfect. As I was checking out the salesperson asked me if I wanted a 2 year warranty, I showed her the 5 year warranty on the box and she couldn't believe her eyes! If your looking for a notebook mouse, do try this, it won't disappoint.
Rating: Summary: Great mouse, easy installation, fast shipping Review: I think the title of my review says it all. I did not expect the item to be shipped so fast by the free super saver option. So thank you Amazon. The only thing I am missing is a gift certificate from Amazon :-).
Rating: Summary: excellent product. would highly recommend it Review: If you have a notebook, this is a must-have mouse. On WinXP it installs without any drivers. . .true plug-and-play. clicking feels good but it feels a little "cheaper" than regular logitech mice. I love the On/off switch. . .travel pouch is nice too. Size is good for people with small hands (especially women) and occupies negligible space in my notebook backpack. This mouse is replacing a wireless mouse by Targus. That one was really bad. It frequently lost connection, would automatically highlight icons on my desktop without me clicking the buttons, tracking of the cursor was "choppy" at times, over all unreliable. This logitech mouse is working flawlessly. The only very very minor advantage of the Targus mouse is that it comes with a short (2 inch) USB extension cord in case your USB port is located in a place that would make the USB receiver bump into stuff. In other words, if you have a USB port in the back of your notebook, the receiver will stick out about 2 inches and could bump into things. A short extension cord would allow you to move the receiver to a more comfortable location. Oh well. . .very minor. You might be able to find it for less elsewhere but I would definitely get it from somewhere.
Rating: Summary: Good, but I expect more from Logitech Review: IMHO, many of the people reviewing a device such as this often compare it to their old cruddy device at home, instead of comparing it to the technology of the day. This mouse is good but could be better. It tracks very well for a wireless mouse and is very comfortable (not too small) for a notebook mouse. The scroll wheel is smooth and the scroll button has a good click. It has an on/off switch which lets you turn it off when not in use. The Logitech Mouseware software is excellent -- the best mouse software/driver out there. However, regarding the two main buttons, it seems Logitech has taken a giant step backwards or simply neglected this major aspect. Their other mouse products (such as their MX line of mice) have very light, smooth, responsive clicks. All of Microsoft's mice (Logitech's main competitor) also click nicely. The buttons on this mouse feel stiff and uncomfortable in comparison. The USB dongle is better than a big bulky receiver of course, but again, it is not the best of this design. It's too long and sticks out too far, and tends to bang into the surface of wherever you rest the laptop, especially if the surface is not perfectly flat, like your bed or your lap for example. Lesser companies such as Targus and others make the USB dongle so that it can be angled upwards. This mouse also lacks an extra side button or two. In this day and age many users including myself have become very accustomed to using the programmable side back/forward buttons common on most aftermarket optical mice. It is true that most notebook mice don't have this feature, but one would think Logitech -- an industry leader -- would try to innovate instead of just playing safe with an outmoded design. Batteries run out much too quickly, but this is a problem with every wireless mouse on the market. The thing that makes this mouse die faster is that it has no sleep mode -- big mistake. Wireless mice have to have a sleep mode if they are to last longer than 1 month. Best thing to do is get yourself a set of 4 rechargable NiMH batteries from Radioshack so you can have 2 batteries charged and ready to go at any time. So in conclusion, if you must have a wireless notebook mouse definitely buy this one. It tracks very well, has a smooth wheel and a small receiver. But there are many better mice out there (wired and wireless, regular and notebook), several for less money. This mouse is cordless, attractive/stylish and small -- but that doesn't mean it's a great mouse. If some cheap company made this product I probably wouldn't be this critical, but I expect more from the industry leader and from a $40 mouse.
Rating: Summary: Rubbish Review: It was rubbish, I bought it from somewhere else and it failed to work for me, I tryed cleaning it but it still didn't work. I sent it back to get a replacement AND I still coulden't get it to work, I might just have been my P.C but I don't think that, that was the case.
Rating: Summary: ergonomically.. not so good Review: Just got a laptop (my first!) and thought, my optical logitech mouse is great, but I need one for the laptop -- wouldn't cordless be nice? Well, it's nice but.. it clicks harder than my old one. In other words, it takes enough effort to make it click that I find myself avoiding it and keyboarding around. Now I'll admit to having some sort of repetitive stress injury, but this is definitely exacerbating it. Aside from that, great mouse. I like the option to assign things to the scroll wheel button "thing" -- I chose drag lock -- it was an actual option! The wheel is great as always, and it seems to work fine. If anyone knows of a cordless optical wheel mouse (extra points for being small) that clicks more easily, do let me know -- the pain has traveled from my wrist to my back in less than two hours. I'll be willing to get the larger more expensive cordless optical if the clicking is easier. $10 vs serious pain -- it's worth the money.
Rating: Summary: Nice little mouse Review: LIKES
1) No wires!! finally.. less clutter
2) So far my batteries have lasted a long time (past 1.5 months now)
3) ON/OFF switch
4) Price was great (20$ w/ rebate)
5) Just the right size. Small enough for the bag yet not too small for the hands (I have big hands)
6) Comes with a nice soft pouch
DISLIKES
1) Left button feels a little stiffer then the right button
2) USB receiver is a little long and kinda gets in the way when plug into the back of my laptop
3) Only 2 buttons (wish it was like my Intellimouse)
4) No auto-off, would be nice if they had this along w/ the ON/OFF switch
Rating: Summary: Great Mouse but usb receiver is bad.. Review: Mouse is great and works on all surfaces. USB receiver sticks out and there is a high probability that you might be damaging it if you are not very careful. I damaged it in 2 weeks. May be logitech should have designed it with a flexible material so that it bends.
