Rating: Summary: Nice little mouse Review: As all the previous reviews have stated, this is a nice little mouse that was a breeze to install on my IBM Thinkpad T30 with Windows 2000 Pro. I like the fact that it is optical, so I don't need to worry about using a mouse pad. The ONLY thing I don't like about this mouse is the "action" on the buttons. It is pretty stiff and I am still trying to get used to it. I mostly have problems when I try to double-click. When I go back to my trusty wired Microsoft mouse, the action is so much softer and easier to "feel." If you can test it out first (borrow a friends) I'd highly recommend it before you purchase.
Rating: Summary: Perfect little device Review: Before buying this mouse I (sometimes) used an older Logitech "cordless" mouse, designed for desktops. The transceiver portion of that system sat at the end of a cord, and though technically the mouse was not corded to the computer, it was too hard to manage that system when connecting to my laptop. So I am delighted to get a system really designed for laptops. The mouse is right sized, large enough but smaller than a desktop mouse. And the transceiver is a little two inch stick that plugs into the USB. Wheel: I take that for granted nowadays. But I really appreciate this newfangled "on/off" switch they have invented. My old desktop cordless mouse ran out of gas every month and need a battery replacement. So mostly it sat unused. There's really not much bad I can say about this mouse. Looking for one thing: I wonder if I will ever bump the transceiver stick into something and break it off.
Rating: Summary: Buy this product !!!! Review: Before having this product, I used to have a retractable cord + Optical Mouse, which was very small and confortable but after a few weeks of pulling the cord, it breaks. Now after my new Logitech cordless mouse, I can use it with the laptop without any cable around and practically on any surface. The instalation was literally plug and play no software instalation or drivers required. Windows XP recognized the mouse quickly.
Rating: Summary: Lovely mouse Review: Easy to install, works like a charm, good reception, the power on/off is really handy. If I have to be picky, the clicking sound is a bit too loud for me deep into the late night.
Rating: Summary: Not for serious gamers, eats batteries, but great. Review: First off, DO NOT put 1.2v rechargable batteries into a mouse that wants 1.5v batteries, unless of course you don't like to actually accomplish anything but frustration trying to get the pointer to go where you want it to. It actually says right where the batteries go that it wants 1.5's. Listen to the print on the battery thingy, the print is good. Now, about the mouse. The site said it was great for gaming. That depends. Minesweeper, little golf games and stuff on zone.com, works fine, for most people that play games, the *normal* people, this mouse probably works just fine. But for the elite gamer, for the psycho FPS player that blasts somebody, runs for cover while many angry enemies come out of the woodwork, lobs a nade out the window, blasts another as he jumps out another window, blasts another as he hits the ground, then lobs another grenade up into the window, off the side wall, and down the stairs, then darts in the door right after the nade goes off and cleans up anyone else in that room, then... anyway, this mouse can't keep up. I have yet to find a cordless mouse that can really keep up with the really high-paced crazy stuff that I like to pull, and this mouse is no exception. However, when I'm at college, This thing's great. When you're sitting at a 1-by-2 desk with about a foot in between your desk and tons of other desks in every direction, a mouse wire majically mighty-morphs into a trip cord. Whether I'm actually paying attention and taking notes, or playing *little* games (without getting caught by the teacher, of course), it works great, it's *very* compact, and the only downside is that it needs regular batteries. I can't really say how long 2 AA's last, because the college season's over and I have little use for this mouse at home on my desk (which is like 3-by-5 feet, yipee!), but when college starts up again (like I'm eager to go back) I'll buy a huge battery-bundle off of the internet or at a store (near me!), keep 2 spare ones with me, and be set. I just need to grab new batteries from wherever my stash is every so often. My laptop battery probably doesn't last as long as these batteries do, but even if you have the laptop plugged in, it's still one less tripcord, and you don't have to fumble around making a mouse-cord portable, both in the case and on the desk, which is great. I also have to note that if you get one of these mice that matches your laptop, it looks *really* cool, really cool, but, if you're in a room full of computer-illiterates that both: have a problem that they can't figure out and the "really" need your help with, and: spent 10 minutes reading a PC-magazine and think they know everything, this looking cool can be bad, very bad. Anyway, overall: needs 1.5v batteries, bad for serious gamers, good for actually productive stuff, very portable, looks cool.
Rating: Summary: The perfect mouse for your laptop! No annoying cable, A++! Review: Got this mouse from Amazon today, it's perfect for my laptop or anyone's laptop! Installed flawlessy on an older laptop, as with every Logitech mouse I've purchased, never had to use the installation CD. Installation for this mouse couldn't be easier: take out of package, plug small receiver into USB slot, press connect button, load 2 batteries into mouse, press connect button, and it works instantly! It even comes with a neoprene case for the mouse and receiver when you're travelling. Great form-factor, scroll works well, attractive medium silver mouse, and no annoying cable! Haven't had "difficult to click" problems like other reviewers...no problems. What more could you want? It costs $40 + tax in the store, here on Amazon, it's $30, free ship, a must have. My previous mouse was optical but not cordless....moving a laptop around the house is very annoying when you have a long mouse cable meant for a desktop computer, now mousing is effortless.....definitely buy this mouse....Logitech is a brand you can trust!!
Rating: Summary: No Regrets, Excellent Cordless Mouse! Review: Great accessory to have for laptop users. I have used this mouse with my laptop for approximately 3 weeks now. I chose a wireless laptop mouse because it means that there is one less cord in the way. Pro's: 1. Logitech is a name that you can trust. I expect no manufacturing defects or problems. It feels like a quality product. 2. Works on a number of surfaces. 3. Great battery power. This mouse is not a power hog. The on and off switch, located on the bottom of the mouse is a great feature. I have yet to change the batteries out yet. 4. Excellent wireless performance. I have had no issues with the mouse not performing because it is wireless. Unless you expect to use your laptop from more than 3 feet away (which pretty much means you wont be able to see the text on the monitor), you shouldnt have any problems. 5. Convenient travel pouch where you can store the USB receiver and the mouse. 6. Perfect size - the mouse is not too small, and not too big. Instead of being awkward and taking time to get used to, a person can use it right away. Con's: 1. USB dongle sticks out a bit more than I expected. My USB ports are on the back of my laptop and when the USB receiver for the mouse is plugged in, it sticks out approximately 2.25 inches. 2. As mentioned in other reviews, the feel of this mouse is a bit stiff. I use my mouse in a classroom setting and everytime I click, the whole classroom can hear it. 3. The mouse is pretty heavy with the batteries loaded in it, but you cant really cite that as a fault. The mouse does need power to run. I just put it here to let you know. Conclusion: Excellent mouse that performs as promised. I have no regrets with this purchase and would definately recommmend to others.
Rating: Summary: Must have for notebooks Review: Highly recommended for laptops. Even though it has a "connect" button, never had to use it. Just plug and play installation. No need to download/install drivers. Used it with Win 2000 and Win XP. Pros :: * Solid responsive mouse * Just like any other mouse * Cordless so no tangled wires around you * Optical so can be used on ( just about ) any surface * Small USB receiver * Cute carrying case with separate pouch for receiver * Used it, without any issues, with my wireless internet connection * Easy to replace batteries Cons :: * Might be small for a person with large hands &/or long fingers * Just 2 button mouse * Not aware of any way to program the "buttons" ( for "left handed" persons ) * Slightly heavier ( because of batteries ) compared to a general optical mouse.
Rating: Summary: One dead mouse.... Review: Hmmmm...though the software loaded seamlessly, I can't get the mouse to work...! The instructions are simple enough--perhaps, too simple...there is no trouble-shooting info so I suppose I'll be sending the thing back--bummer....
Rating: Summary: A Nearly Perfect Laptop Mouse Review: I agree with nearly every reviewer below, except about the button action. I didn't find mine to be too heavy. Positives: --uses standard batteries: this is great, no need to pack the charging station or a cord, just an extra set of AA batteries. I use rechargeables to save money. Minor quibble: I wish they used AAA. They don't last as long but I can feel the weight difference. And packing my briefcase these days is like prepping for a hike on the Appalachian Trail, you really start to pay attention to every ounce. --on/off button --ease of installation (as noted below, plug it in and go to work, no need for the CD) --ergonomics (comfortable) --size of USB receiver (small) --price (acceptable, though wouldn't mind about $10 less) --wheel works great --carrying case: a surprise; it's small and the neoprene is soft but durable and holds its shape. My last mouse was a felt, drawstring bag. It worked well, but this is a decided improvement. Negatives None, but I can suggest a couple of improvements. --it doesn't seem to have a sleep mode after a few minutes of idle time. I've only had it a few days, so it's too soon to report on battery life and how the sleep mode issue affects that. The on/off is great, but I'd prefer to use that only when I pack it, not to shut off each night (I leave all my equipment on). My last mouse and the one my wife uses have contacts on the side of the mouse that you naturally touch and which "awaken" the mouse from its power-conserving state. --I haven't had them yet, but I'd like to have the programmable fourth and fifth buttons people talk about in other mouse reviews and use for "Back" and "Forward" on Web pages. Great mouse. Good value. Another plus for the Logitech brand.
