Summary: Excellent
Review: After trying the Logitech Optical Notebook, the Optical Click and MX700 mice for few weeks, I believe that I found this mouse to provide the best feel, software, features, low weight and low price (check buy.com or office depot). In addition, the tilt feature is a must for professionals using Excel.

Summary: Almost perfect
Review: Everything is perfect about this mouse except the wheel button. It's a little hard to click the wheel button. But I've found that if you put your finger a little towards the top of the wheel instead of directly above the wheel and push in a slight angle (back towards you instead of straight down), the chances of scrolling when you mean to click are minimal.

All the buttons are right where you'd expect them ergonomically, and the scroll itself is very smooth.

Note that if you want to use this mouse w/ Firefox, you definitely need to install the IntelliPoint software and change the scroll click from its default setting to "autoscroll".

Can't comment on the battery life, as I've just gotten it. But Msoft claims that typical users can expect 6 months on a pair of regular alkaline AAs, which are included.

I have some rechargables, so doesn't really matter to me.

Summary: Wheel Button too stiff
Review: I love the mouse, but the wheel button is way too stiff and you have to push extra hard on it which makes it move side ways and activate the scroll. Otherwise I like it. Will probably take it back and get one without a non side-to-side scroll.

Summary: Adds significantly to computing experience!
Review: My old Microsoft mouse was acting up terribly with the cursor skipping around randomly and generally creating quite a bit of difficulty for me in navigating through any document. I did the troubleshooting thing, uninstalled and reinstalled the software and still couldn't get rid of the problem.

It was one of those things that crept up on me slowly and sort of insidiously got worse. Finally, after about a year of this nonsense, I decided to buy a new mouse.

First of all, the ergonomics of the IntelliMouse Explorer are fantastic. All the buttons exactly where you'd expect them with not too many extraneous buttons and not too few. The tilt roller wheel is a wonderful innovation allowing you to scroll up and down and right and left. You can easily reach the browser back and browser forward buttons with your thumb, also adding to the overall browsing experience.

IMHO, this is an absolutely great bargain. It works flawlessly without ANY anoying malfunctions. Honestly, it has made browsing and working on the internet as well as working on any document a very efficient experience coordinating seamlessly with any and all programs.

I would buy this mouse at two to three times the price. It just works that well. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Reception is horrible
Review: This device transmits on a common frequency; as a result it is horribly choppy and ultimately useless.

Summary: So far So good
Review: Two days in with this mouse and I am very pleased. My reception, in a room with 2 wireless telephone bases and a wireless router, has been excellent. I have tried the base on top of a bookshelf about 5 feet from my desktop - no problem. I wound up just putting it at the back of my desktop. It has been excellent so far, is very accurate, and is a lot smoother to use than either the MS wired or Dell wired that I have.

Summary: Great Mouse
Review: Very precise, smoothest wheel I've seen, and the 2 extra buttons are great. Every once in a while, the wireless signal seems to drop but only for a second. No big deal.

Summary: Plug-and-play with Windows XP
Review: When I tried to install the included software prior to using the Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer with my HP notebook, I got an error message that I would have to uninstall my Synaptics Touchpad software. Figuring that would render my touchpad useless while on the road, I skipped this step and instead installed the batteries into the mouse and plugged the receiver into my USB port. Much to my surprise, Windows XP recognized the mouse and I was able to use it immediately...even without the support software installed. I realize I may not be able to reprogram the buttons nor will I be able to use the low-battery indicator, but these are minor setbacks considering this mouse works great. It runs very smooth, reception is excellent and the scroll wheel -- which some people criticize because it doesn't click -- was easy to adjust to. In fact, while the scroll wheel itself doesn't click as you turn it, pages on the screen still "click" up and down in the same increments as with a click wheel. Definitely a great hardware addition as I strive to go wireless.

Summary: Great mouse
Review: Wireless

I am not regretting spending the money for a wireless mouse. It's so nice being to move the mouse to a different part of the desk for a different position without any hassle whatsoever, or any cord being in the way. I had some problems with lag at first but after I hit the connect button on the receiver and the mouse it all cleared. I guess it was on a different channel.

Feel of Mouse

Everything about this mouse is perfect, but this was designed for a right hand for you lefties. The shoulder buttons are exactly were they should be. And the shape is awesome. The curve of this mouse takes getting used to, but it feels very comfortable even following long hours of use, after getting used to it. At first I had my hand down to far on the mouse and had to stretch to hit the shoulder button with my thumb. But after I moved up my hand I have had the best feel with this mouse.

Scroll

I don't use the horizontal that much but its nice when I need it. The scroll is hard to click as a middle button like one of the other reviewers stated, but it's not bad after using it about a week. And it does not activate the horizontal scroll like he said. And if it did like he said you could turn off the horizontal scroll. The smooth scrolling was very annoying because it didn't click every time you turn it. But now I love it so much lol! It is very hard to select weapons if you're a gamer. Like, using the scroll to select a weapon becuase it doesn't click everytime you select a different weapon. But once again you can learn to get used it. It definitely takes away fatigue from scrolling. So if you scroll a lot then this is the mouse for you.

Battery life

This mouse is supposed to give you excellent battery life (3x as long!). I haven't had to change the batteries yet, but I haven't had it long either. If you install the software that comes with it. It will show how much battery life is left and how great the signal is.

If I find any problems or wish to comment more I will update this review. Hope this help you decide!
