Summary: Great Mouse until it died, then Gyration made me sad!!
Review: Bought the wireless "air" mouse and wireless keyboard with my new Gateway computer. Mouse died after working for about three weeks. Gateway sent me to Gyration for support - still waiting. Tried sending emails, they answered with a question which I answered but nothing since. Spent several hours waiting on hold on a non 800 phone line for someone who "will be with you shortly" but didn't come on line. Sounds like a good product if you get a good one, but heaven help you if you get a lemon. The keyboard worked fine and still does.

Review: I purchased this mouse and the optional keyboard from staples about a year ago. This has been one of the best investments I've made. The built-in battery pack on the mouse holds up to about a week of continuous use either as being optical or a gyro mouse. When it does go dead, simply pop it on the charger overnight and its ready to go again.

At first I thought it would be like other technology gimmicks, but couldn't resist the potential sweetness of the idea. Over a year of continuous use surfing the web, writing reports, playing games and programming without a hitch. I use it mostly as an optical mouse, occasionally surfing the web with my hand dangling below my chair simply moving my wrist. When I want to watch a movie on my computer, I just take the keyboard and mouse and recline to watch the movie in my recliner.

Installation couldn't be easier...pop in the usb connector to the receiver and push the "learn" button for each device as described in the quick start guide. No drivers required.

One note of concern, gyration claims a 25' range, however in my dorm room (where cell phones sometimes dont work either) the range is less than that. If i sit the receiver on my computer case or anything metal, the mouse movement sometimes is choppy. Simply moving the base or adjusting the antenna usually fixes this.

My friend also has the same keyboard/mouse combo and hasn't had any problems at all. I'd recommend this setup over logitech or any other brand. If you like a laptop keyboard, you'll love this keyboard as they are identical. Battery life is amazing in the keyboard, 4 AA batters require changing every 6 months or so with even heavy use.

Your friends WILL be impressed.

Summary: The last mouse I will buy for a while
Review: I was recently at Staples looking for some accessories to another computer I have when the display for this mouse caught my eye. At first i thought it was like every other cordless optical mouse I had seen or used, but after closer scrutiny, I quickly realized that this mouse was very different indeed. when I looked on the back of the box I saw the mouse being used in two different ways, as a standard desktop mouse and, more eye catching, as a remote. After studying the box for a few minutes and reading some of the details, I realized that this mouse was exactly everything I was looking for in a mouse.

I was looking for a cordless, Optical mouse that I could use on the desktop for web surfing and other various desktop functions, and one that could double as a "remote" for the DVD player on my computer while watching DVD's. This mouse is perfect for both uses.

Upon purchasing the mouse I quickly went home, anxious to use it and see if it was as good as the advertising made it out to be. When I got it home, I quickly opened the box took out the receiver, mouse, and keyboard and set it up. After I had it plugged in and the computer recognized it (very simple due to USB plug and play) I was off and running. All motions where fluid and precise and the "remote" ability worked like a dream, this was truely the mouse I had been searching for. (too bad Logitech didn't think of it first)

One more thing about this package that I liked was that it came with either that mouse seperatly or also with a cordless keyboard. Both units work off the same radio frequency reciever and only use one USB port, this differs from other cordless mouse/keyboard combos that use seperate USB ports for each although they use the same receiver.
I recommend this combo to anyone who is looking for a mouse that can be used on the desktop and for business presentations (powerpoint). I love this mouse!!!

Summary: BOX DOES NOT STATE WORKS WITH WINDOWS XP
Review: This is an older 2001 Year model which is discontinued.

www.gyration.com has no information on this model as the items box states YEAR 2001 on the box.

The box does NOT state the item works with Windows XP.

I am returning mine and purchasing the new model together with

the keyboard and I am certain they will make a nice addition to

my computer.

The owners Manual you download here at Amazon.com states it

DOES work with Windows XP but REMEMBER it is discontinued

and the included RF receiver is different than the new models RF

Receiver, so I wonder if it will work and is compatible with a

NEW MODEL YEAR 2003 GYRATION KEYBOARD ???
