Summary: You've GOT TO HAVE THIS
Review: Even the packaging is awesome... but most of all, the functionality is supreme.

The keyboard closes to form it's own strong protective casing... I have mine flopping around lose in my purse and it still works like a champ.

Folded up, it's not much bigger than the Handspring in the leather case.

Everytime I take out my keyboard in a meeting, at least one person in the meeting will say outloud, "WOW... what is that thing, and where did you get it?!"

I've recommended it to a number of people who have bought their own and are thrilled with it.

I can't say enough about how handy it is with taking notes.

To take down a quick note, I'll still just use grafitti, but I've been in meetings where I've been asked to take minutes and I can't imagine having to do that w/ a stylus. No matter how fast you get w/ a stylus, it can't match the speed of typing.

The keyboard stretches out to accommodate normal adult human hands which is a treat.

My wish is that they come out w/ a new version that has a 10-key set as well... it would be a nice option for those who don't mind having one that's a little bigger. I'm always having to jot down IP addresses and other numeric data, and having to use the regular number buttons above the letters is a bit tedious. Otherwise, I highly recommend this.

Summary: Love it.
Review: A must have if you have a Visor and want to really take advantage of it. I use it with the WordSmith word processor and love the flexibility of it. Whats best, I carry both the keyboard and the Visor in an inconspicuous case and noone ever knows it's there. It's great if you live in a city where it is just not safe to carry a laptop arround. This setup is even better that the laptop.

Summary: Keyboard to go!
Review: Awesome, Compact, Convenient.. Great Product for my Handspring Visor Prism. Now I have a portable laptop.

Summary: works great but do you need it?
Review: When I first got my Visor this seemed like the obvious accessory to turn it into a mini-laptop. The keyboard is great, and fits on a standard clipboard to give it stability. But. I've had the visor for about 3 months now, and I've gotten good enough at graffiti that I don't really use this much any more.

Summary: Makes a hand held more like a laptop
Review: I take great pride in my ability to write quickly using the Visor's built-in handwriting recognition software. But I can type a heck of a lot faster than I can scribble, so I use this keyboard whenever I can. It folds up into a package about the same size as my Visor Prism, which is twice the thickness of the Visor Platinum. If you need to enter a lot of data, this is the only way to go.

Summary: Indispensable accessory
Review: For anyone that can touch type, this is a must have- Aside from the wear and tear it'll save you on the Visor screen from the inevitable scratches from the Grafitti, it'll save gobs of time compared to stylus'ing in anything beyond a single sentence.

Closing the keyboard, I'd recommend holding the release mechanism back before clamping the two halves together, instead of just crunching it, to avoid some of the problems that some others have had already. Also, care has to be taken when putting the Visor onto the keyboard; that seems to be a less than fully thought out setup, which relies on the resiliency of the plastic tangs to engage and retain the unit. So far, no problems, but a much better setup would have been the design used on the USB laptop cable, with spring loaded release- Time will tell if the materials used for the retainers will hold up, but that's probably the only less-than-perfect aspect of this item. Keyboard tactile feel is terrific, good key contours to allow you to recenter to the home position by feel as you type (unlike keys that are totally flat, which tend to allow you to go off center due to the lack of feedback)

There are some quirky issues with some applications that crop up, but nothing that's a show stopper.

The keyboard driver allows the use of the CMD key with any one of the number keys to be assigned to an application, allowing you to instantly jump to it without having to use stylus navigation, which is handy.

With all this clever design, it should have been easy enough for them to figure out a way to give support to the hinges for true "lap top" use, but unless your lap is much flatter than most, it's a bit of a handful to use unsupported. Though it CAN be, if you're careful enough.

Get one. Your Visor screen will thank you. And yes- it's cool. :)

Summary: AWESOME IN MY HP 525!!!!!
Review: This is a MUST for anyone having a Pocket PC. I have a Jornada 525 and it works wonderfully! Installing the software was very simple and in no time I was ready to go. Do you happen to have a laptop?? Well, the Targus keys have the same feel as a laptop keyboard, but, with no extra BULK! Believe me, you really catch the eye when you unfold this beauty. You can also charge your device while using the stowayay. I find this application useful when I am surfing the web for hours. (I have a PreTec modem I bought here in Amazon of course!) What I don't like is that you have to find a flat and firm surface to get the most out of the keyboard, but, what the heck, this thing is AWESOME! Go get one right now!

Summary: When it works it's great
Review: I liked this keyboard, and recommend it highly, with a few warnings. This keyboard is just a "toy" unless you have a lot of text to add in a specific application. Then it is really great. If you have applications that require a fair amount of navigating from screen to screen, you may be required to use the stylus. For nonstandard applications, you may also be required to use the stylus a lot. For standard applications such as the address book, you can navigate using the tab key, but for any pull-down menus, you have to use the stylus. As I said, when this keyboard works, it is great. Just don't count on being able to do everything with the keyboard. That stylus is still a necessity.

The only other problem I had was that I couldn't get the keyboard to work with my Visor Deluxe at first. I tried unloading some of the third-party applications and still couldn't get it to work. I finally got it to work when I did a hard reset and reloaded all of my applications. Since then I have had no major problems that a soft reset didn't fix.

In conclusion, I really like it for some applications, but it is not convenient for some applications, because of the necessity for frequent use of the stylus.

Summary: An engineering marvel
Review: Wow.

I bought my Visor Platinum and Targus Stowaway on the same day, and at this point, I couldn't imagine one without the other. Aside from its utterly cool engineering, the Stowaway makes word processing not only possible but easy on my Visor. When folded, it's light but feels solid. The full-size keys are a must, of course, and the keyboard has a nice feel, with good key response.

Cons: Eats batteries for lunch, compared with non-keyboard use; also, the docking port is a little difficult to use and looks (though it really isn't) kind of flimsy.

Summary: GOTTA have it!!
Review: If you have the Jornada, you have to get it. It is loads better than toting your laptop around. I keep both in my jacket pocket and haul em out whenever I feel the urge to be productive or write in my journal...which I then sync with my desktop. Sweet.
