The cordless desktop iTouch can make working as comfortable as watching television in your recliner. The cordless desktop iTouch comprises a wireless keyboard and mouse along with a radio-frequency receiver. After installing the software, you press the connect buttons on the receiver, keyboard, and mouse, and then you're on your way to wireless computing. Because the receiver doesn't use infrared signals, which require line of site between the devices, you don't have to point the mouse or keyboard in its direction, letting you type or click even if you're positioned at odd angles. The keyboard works even when you're seated at a 180-degree angle from your computer, though that's probably not the most efficient position for typing. Along with the freedom to move about the room, the cordless desktop iTouch system offers a number of time-saving features. The keyboard, which provides a nice, responsive click, has a set of Internet keys in the top right corner. You can set these up to provide one-click access to your e-mail program and designated Web sites. You can also use these buttons to access applications such as Microsoft Word. The button with the crescent moon shape on the top left corner of the keyboard calls up the Windows shutdown menu. The mouse features a scroll button, which is ideal for navigating Web pages and large spreadsheets. You can also set the mouse buttons to perform other functions, such as HyperJump, which provides one-click access to such Windows features as the Start menu and the last active window. The cordless desktop iTouch includes music jukebox software called Virtuosa. Buttons at the top of the keyboard let you control the track sequence and volume without having to open up Virtuosa in a separate Window. Logitech's cordless desktop iTouch is an outstanding product: it's easy to set up, offers a number of quick-access features, and won't cause conflicts with the keyboard and pointing device on a notebook.
