Summary: VERY Disappointed in this Product
Review: I just bought this combo yesterday and the installation was a nightmare and the mouse still does not work, nor do the hot keys on the keyboard. The installation cd that came with the set apparently was either bad or did not have the complete programs. I had to go online to the website and download the drivers and still the mouse and hot keys do not work. i sent an email last night to the support at Micro Innovations and tonight I still have not had any type of reply. I have used a wireless optical mouse for along time and wanted to upgrade to a wireless keyboard and thought this was the best deal. Apparently I was wrong. Can't decide whether to wait for a reply or just take the crap back!

Summary: Great product backed by excellent customer support
Review: I purchased the wireless keyboard/mouse combination from [a local store]. Installation was very easy but the mouse wouldn't scroll up or down. I took it back to the store the next day but couldn't find any on the shelves. I asked an employee working the computer department and she shrugged and said "I guess it was a special purchase" and went back to talking with a friend. Typical ... . Anyway, I contacted Micro Innovations via email and got an immediate reply to send the mouse to them. A week later I received another complete keyboard/mouse package and it now works great. This is a great bargain especially considering how rare it is to find a company that stands behind their products like this. The only (minor) complaint I have about this package is the mouse and keyboard won't operate at the same time. I play an online game where I use the up cursor key to move and the mouse to select objects as I'm running. While I'm pushing a key, though, the mouse doesn't work. But, this is probably something few would ever notice.

Summary: Hmmm...Man or Mouse
Review: If we are indeed reviewing the KB985W Multimedia Keyboard/Optical Mouse bundle (Black keyboard, silver 5 button mouse) I have one small complaint that may in fact cause a return of the product.

SET-UP: 5 stars - so easy I was sure I missed something

KEYBOARD: 5 stars thus far, quiet & responsive, decent layout too

MOUSE: 3 stars. While set-up was a breeze, the sleep function of this battery powered marvel is a bit annoying. The reaction time is a bit weird too, but this may be due to my being used to the old world Ball And Socket mouse once so en vouge. I would like to know if there are plans for a more detailed control GUI for the Micro Innovations 5 button mouse that came with this set. I would also like to know if the over sensitive pointer function can be fixed in a way I may have over looked. Yes, I went through the control panel/mouse thing but with only limited success. Wait, there's more: It's loud. Unlike the keyboard, this mouse sounds like some sort of hot-wheels launcher. Boing, clik, tak & scrape.

Over all the bundle is a good deal for what I paid ($39.00) but if I cannot acclimate to the mouse it might have to go back.

I would NOT recomend the bundle for anyone working with minute selections like sample-points or graphics needing 'down to the pixel' fixes. If you are simply surfing to find the next Pam Anderson vid, have at it. This baby will more than please you for the investment!

Summary: Beware: not USB enabled!!!!
Review: The keyboard and mouse work well and are reasonable ofr the price but beware!!!!! They are not USB compatible and require ps-2 connections. If your laptop does not have the old ps-2 connectors then you will end up buying an adaptor which costs almost as much as the keyboard-mouse combo itself!

Also, my understanding was that the mouse was an optical device: it is NOT! it works fine but has the usual limitations of the mice using the old rolling ball technology.

So, buy it with your eyes open!
