Summary: Best keyboard I have used in years.
Review: I bought this keyboard for my ibook to spare the built-in k/b ( and because I simply can't type fast enough on the ibook's ). After shopping around on Amazon it came down to this one or the Apple Pro k/b. The cost and reviews of the icekey swayed me and I am ecstatic about my choice.

The keys are solid and respond quickly without the normal squishy computer keyboard feel. My fingers don't have to travel a mile and a half to register the keystroke and I enjoy hearing the gentle click after completing a key press.

The closest comparison to the feel to this keyboard is the keyboard on the Apple IIc that I had so many years ago ( I am dating myself..I realize).
I am really happy now. I can type at full speed, I have two USB ports ( just like an Apple Pro k/b) , and a full numerical keypad. I am also thrilled that the volume control keys and eject keys work flawlessly.

If looks concern you - this is one hot looking little number as well.

I am now hard at work trying to program the "mystery key" ( to the left of the control key) to trigger my coffee maker.

Summary: The Best Keyboard for Macs!!!
Review: I have a 12 inch powerbook G4 and I love the way keys feel under my fingers. The snappy response in my laptop's keys made me resent using all other keyboards...until now. The Macally IceKey is just as good, if not better than the one on my powerbook. It's full size and additional controls for volume and eject make it the perfect keyboard for those who love the feel of sleek keys (which I feel help speed and accuracy if you already use a powerbook) and don't want to sacrifice Mac functionality. 5 Stars.

Summary: a very nice keyboard
Review: I ordered this keyboard after i spilt water on my old apple extended keyboard which i thought was really nice, but wow, this keyboard is so nice. Really comfortable and i feel like i can type much faster. I was doubtful of the reviews that said how good this keyboard really was, but it really is great...

Summary: Light touch, robust , just what I needed
Review: I wanted keys requiring the least amount of pressure, and found it in this keyboard. My other keyboard is a PowerBook G4, and I needed to replace a Dell PC keyboard that had a lot of key resistance: an apparently light touch but a lot of mushiness on the way down. In contrast, the IceKey requires a firm touch to get the key moving, but the resistance seems to decrease after that. I understand the hardware is a different type from other keyboards which might be described this way--and I think it is a huge improvement over a certain "portable" USB keyboard I picked up that required me to point my fingertips down at the key to get this effect. The IceKey is robust enough that I can strike the keys from almost any angle and get the same pleasant feel. It's a pleasant feel because with this keyboard my pain problems have gone away--it might work for you too as part of an overall strategy.

Summary: Excellent keyboard, easy on your hands
Review: I'm totally sold on this keyboard. I love it so much that I keep a spare. Another reviewer mentioned problems with the software under Panther, but I haven't seen ANY problems with either Jag or Panther. It has the Apple media keys, so you can open and close your optical drives from the keyboard.

I use mine at home, but I used it briefly at the office when I first got it. Two of my co-workers (who have to use Windows) tried my iceKey and liked it so much that they immediately got iceKeys to replace the awful Dell keyboards they'd been using.

Very little pressure is required to type on these low travel, springy keys. The keys are broad and flat and easy to hit (or harder to miss, for those of us whose typing skills aren't great). It's far more comfortable to use than the majority of keyboards I've looked it. If you don't tend to whack the keys when typing, you'll find it's pretty quiet, especially compared to the Matias Tactile Pro, which feels good to type on, but is very clacky and noisy in comparison. In just about any setting, quiet is definitely better.

I'll keep buying these as long as they keep making them.

Summary: Buggy in Panther
Review: The driver is a two year old beta version which was developed for OS 10.1. It was buggy for me in Panther. I switched to an Apple keyboard and mouse and haven't had any problems since. The iceKey has a great feel but takes up more desk space than the Apple keyboard. If it had up-to-date drivers, I'd given five stars.

Summary: Very slick keyboard
Review: This is a very well built keyboard and looks great on the desk. I can really type faster with the low profile keys that require less force. The USB connectors on each side will prove to be useful.

Being a Windows user, my only complaints are that left Windows key and the left alt key are reversed on this keyboard. There is also a 'blank' key where the right CTRL button should be but the right CTLR is shifted over a bit. These are minor complaints but they cause me several mistypes per day like hitting Windows-tab instead of alt-tab because of the key reversals.

Another keyboard with the similiar low-profile keys is the pricey Logitech diNovo.

Summary: Great product, watch the price.
Review: This is quite possibly the greatest keyboard I've used in a while. I do plenty of writing, and while some prefer old-school "solid" keyboards, I love the light feel of a laptop keyboard. This keyboard captures it perfectly.

It carries all the functionality of a Apple's Pro Keyboards (and despite what the manufacturer says, will work in OS 9.1, possibly others), and feels great. Not much more needs to be said. It's bare bones, but performs flawlessly. Be sure you shop around. Laugh at how much some people expect you to pay for it after seeing it here for $...

My only question is: what is up with the useless key? It's out of the way and doesn't cause any problems with typing, but... well, it's just odd. I got over it.

Summary: Buy This Immediately
Review: This is the greatest keyboard ever made, and quite possibly the greatest creation in all of human history. (Yes, it's that good). The action is suberb, the key size and texture is perfect, and your fingers dance and glide over the keys like hippos doing ballet. My typing speed practically doubled overnight. Its look is futuristic yet subdued, and unlike a lot of third party keyboards, there aren't a bunch of junk buttons and extraneous labeling smattered all over the keys. You have to try it to really see how wonderful it is. It may not be wireless (yet), but it's worth another cable to have this, the keyboard of the gods.

Summary: Excellent keyboard, even for a PC.
Review: This keyboard is awesome. I needed a very low profile keyboard to make my hands feel better and this does the trick. I use Windows 2000 Pro and it was recognized right after plugging it in. The only drawback is that the keys are designed for a Mac and so it's missing PRNTSCRN & INSERT (and probably something else I cannot remember). This isn't a big issue but might make taking screenshots more difficult. Besides that, it looks great, feels great, and works well. If you've found that you like to rest your whole arm on the desk when typing (as I do) this keyboard is for you as your hands will be only slightly elevated and still in a relaxed position. Enjoy!
