Summary: Great Mouse!
Review: Although a bit on the heavy side, it has good functionality. It scrolls smoothly with great tracking speed! Installion was a breeze and batteries last well. I'd say, it's worth it but the tilt wheel is just a gimmick.

Summary: Misprint ... 3 Foot Range should read 3 inch range
Review: Amazingly, I didn't really read the tech specs for the MS Optical Wireless Mouse version 2.0 before I ordered it. Unbelievably, the documentation says the wireless range is 3' (ie: 3 feet -which by the way is pretty useless). I had ordered 2 of them for computers in conference roomb. Both of them worked ok for about 5 minutes, then started getting hung up and the pointer wouldn't move .... rebooting and reloading ensued, then, I found that if I move the mouse to within 3" (That's 3 INCHES) the mouse works fine... I can move it outside of the 3 inch range and it starts hanging up. Fresh batteries...nope, same thing. Changed the Mouse and RF receiver channels, same thing still.......So, I hooked up the old trusty Logitech RF Keybd and mouse that I've had for about 5 years and it works fine, up to 14 FEET away. (so the MS problem isn't radio interference or anything apparantly, it is just shoddy craftmanship.

Summary: Pretty Darn Good (in Spite of the Company)
Review: As much as I am compelled to bash Microsoft for their buggy software, I can't help recommending this mouse. A previous reviewer noted the different shape, but to me the shape actually gives you the sense of a more secure grip on the thing. I admit though it took a few weeks to get used to. My only other observation is a lack of feedback in the scroll wheel. In the old wheel mice you could feel a slight notch at each increment that you rolled the wheel. Not so with this one. So this too takes a bit to get used to when estimating how far you need to roll the wheel in order to go half-way down a page. But those are truly minor quibbles. The installation was a breeze, and it does go easy on the AA batteries. The tilt wheel is a bit of a novelty, but it actually does come in handy on occasion. As far as optical mice go, it is very responsive. You certainly can't go wrong on the price. If you've never used an optical mouse, imagine never having to clean crud and dust bunnies out from inside around the mouse ball. Overall, I'd say if you're in the market for a new mouse and don't need buttons all over it (like the more expensive wireless Intellimouse), snap this one up.

Review: Bought this great mouse in January and although I use it approximately an hour a day, maybe two....the original batteries are still going strong. Very easy to use and a pleasure not having the wire in the way.

I bought this mouse about 6months ago and I didn't have to replace the battery yet!!! Amazing! and i use it 5 to 6 hours a day! I suffered from carpal tunnel syndrom and my doctor recommended I buy this Microsoft mouse. Since i started using this mouse, i don't feel any discomfort from using my computer. And because it was designed by Microsoft, i had no compatability issues with my computer.

Summary: poor ergonomics
Review: I acquired one of these mice in a Microsoft Optical Desktop 2.0 bundle.
The scroll wheel also scrolls sideways, but this is of little practical use; it also requires far much more force to use it as a middle mouse button that it's useless for gaming.
This model is much higher than most normal mice I'm used to, and I found myself getting a sore hand after using it for more than half an hour.
If you're after an ergonomic mouse by Microsoft, consider one of the newest series three Microsoft IntelliMouse models. If you're after a decent symmetric pointing device, consider something simpler such as the Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse.

Summary: Warning! Worked for a while then sucks!
Review: I bought this wireless mouse a few months ago and have had numerous problems. This mouse just plain hasn't worked for me. I've tried every type of surface known to man and the mouse still has problems working properly. Buttons don't work, my left-right scroll doesn't work, pointer doesn't move correctly. My old Microsoft wired optical mouse was fine on the same surface. I seem to have good connection and battery, but can't continue to fight with this thing. I'm plugging in my wired mouse. I do have a Logitech wireless at home and it works great. Make sure you really shop around before you buy.

Review: I have got this mouse a few days ago, and it works quite well. This is my first wireless mouse, so I can't compare it with anything. I have put the transmitter on my computer, which is about 2 feet away and 1.5 feet above where I use the mouse. So far it works well without 'warping'.

Review: I have only been using this mouse for a few days now and I already really like it!It's a little larger and weighs about the same as the standard corded Microsoft mouse that I had been using and feels a little more comfortable. The optical feature alone is much better than the ball. It's much smoother and I don't have to spend time cleaning the rubber ball and wheels. The package comes with the mouse, a receiver that plugs into either a ps/2 or USB, (it comes with an adapter)two Energizer AA batteries, the software disk, and booklet. All you have to do is install the software (which takes a couple of minutes), restart the computer, insert the batteries, plug in the receiver and it's ready to use. It is great not having a cable to get in the way and I can store the mouse in the desk drawer when not in use. The mouse will go into a power saving mode after a short time of not being used. There is no on / off switch to forget to shut off. The middle scroll wheel is also a lot smoother than on the standard mouse. Overall I am happy with this product and think that it is worth every penny.

Review: I purchased this yesterday and returned it today. I wanted to use this with my Thinkpad. I could not load the driver and application to use the additional features (tilt wheel) because it conflicts with the Thinkpad touchpad driver. On Microsoft support site, it states the fact that it conflicts with some popular touchpads. I was disappointed that Microsoft forgot to print that on the outside of the box and wasted my time. Also, what is the deal with this scroll wheel? It is sticky and hard to move. I replaced it with a Logitech MX700, plugged it in, loaded the driver and bingo... It is perfect!
