Rating: Summary: Great Buy Review: This keyboard is perfect for the traveler. It is compact, quite durable and is very easy to type on. I highly recomend this keyboard to any Pocket PC user.
Rating: Summary: Compact, Usable Keyboard Review: If you don't mind using a (full-size) laptop keyboard, then this is a great companion product for the Jornada. While not having the full key-stroke of a desktop keyboard, it's full-size keys make it easy to type for even extended periods of time. The only downside with this product is that its case scratches VERY easily. I've had it just over a week, and already it's covered in scratch marks. Overall, if you're not too worried about aesthetics, this product turns a Jornada into the smallest, lightest, most usable laptop available.
Rating: Summary: It is Great Review: I waited a 3 months before seriously reviewing the keyboard so I could give a overall review from a long term standpoint. This is the greatest accessory for a visor ever, and is a "must have" for every visor owner. I am in high school, and I use it for everything, I have not had to write a rough draft for a single english paper, and have been able to complete typed repots in study hall, saving me time (when people arent asking me what it is, how does it work and how much the whole setup cost.) Also, I notice many reviewers find it difficult to connect, I had no problem attaching it, and once I realized it only took a twist of my wrist to remove it was simple.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't live without it! Review: I take a lot of meeting minutes in my job--what a pain it used to be to have to write them all and then type them out on my computer! When I got my Visor prism, I determined right away that I couldn't possibly keep up with the pace of the meetings using graffiti. I add this keyboard and voila! Since I can type faster than I can write, my notes have never been as detailed and organized. The other benefit of the keyboard is that, although I normally love click keyboards, this one is very quiet, which is useful in a meeting. I sat next to the President of our university in a meeting and transcribed what she said and the only distraction was her constantly looking down at my "neat gadget." Add those features to the cool factor (I think I've sold ten of these things just from people seeing mine) and the incredible portability (may not be quite as small as a deck of playing cards--but is as small as a deck of Traot cards) and you have a real winner. I agree with the initial frustration of trying to figure out how to connect the unit, but it took only a minute or two to learn to do it and now I can connect it easily. All in all, a great product.
Rating: Summary: Cheat on your laptop... Review: ...and make some REAL use of your Visor. As a software developer and author, I find myself writing notes and articles in many places outside my home or office. I have tried carrying my laptop occasionally, but the thing is really not a comfortable platform to lug into a lecture or squeeze into a small car. This accessory for the Visor has changed my manner of writing entirely. I can carry my Visor and keyboard in one pocket (khakis...and it DOES look funny), if necessary. Try THAT with a notebook. The keyboard is much sturdier than it appears, as its case and structure are metal, and it has a nice heft to it, not like a featherweight piece of junk. The keys themselves are large enough for real touch-typing, and don't constrain you to the minimal limits that the clamshell keyboards or built-ins do. The connector for the Visor itself IS a bit questionable. I'm not horribly afraid that it will break, but compared to the version for the Palm, this connector is ridiculously difficult to use. Additionally, when the keyboard is setup, the two outer hinges are locked open, but the center one still moves, making the use of the keyboard on your lap a bit problematic (unless you keep your knees together). You will find yourself wanting a better word processor than the Memo Pad. Invest in a real program like Pedit, and you'll be able to write larger documents in a more feature-rich environment. The best thing about the keyboard? People think that this keyboard is the neatest thing they've ever seen; you'll get quite a crowd gathering when you unfold it. Overall, an excellent product well-worthy of praise. It takes the Visor to a new level of usefulness.
Rating: Summary: Connector stinks, but great keyboard. Review: Come on Targus, the connector for the Visor STINKS; and big time. I can't believe that you let this great product out the door with such a major flaw. How long do you think those 2 plastic clips will last. The keyboard works great (after you manage to connect the visor), and has a lot of nice features on the keys. Would recommend this only after the major flaw is fixed.
Rating: Summary: Good gadget Review: I really like even opening this keyboard and on top of this it works. I didn't give it 5 stars because I occasionally have problems connecting to it. It is probably me and I don't have it down quite yet. I've had it about 3 weeks and use it quite frequently (several times a day). It sure beats graffiti if you have a lot to write. It's stronger than I anticipated too.
Rating: Summary: Great Product ! Review: This product out ranks the traditional compact keyboard. Both my HP and Keyboard fit in my small handbag - great for adhoc meetings.
Rating: Summary: Best keyboard available for the Handspring. Review: I have been using this keyboard consistenly for just about 3 months now. I unfold it and fold it repeatedly and throw it in my case (I work in new car sales). If you want a extremely versatile, portable keyboard that is surpisingly sturdy for a colapsing keyboard this is it. The keyboard is quiet enough to take notes during meetings or say a college course. Furthermore, the full size keys mean no learning curve, its very comfortable to type with. When folded up, its metal casing protects it very well. Bottom line: If you are going to enter a lot of data such as clients, schedules, notes etc. I recommend this product as a MUST HAVE. Cool and useful and affordable since Handsprings are so reasonable priced.
Rating: Summary: Well-thought out Review: The Targus Stowaway keyboard was definitely a well-planned unit. It folds up to be only slightly bigger than the Visor itself, and yet I don't have to adjust to smaller keys like I would with the GoType!. There are, however, a few things that I do wish were done differently. The [TAB] key can only be used to switch fields, there should be a driver option to fix this. Also, a [Fn] key on the right side of the keyboard (where many of the main [Fn]-enabled keys are) should be nice. Also, the stylus wells aren't deer enough to really hold your stylus in place. But all of these are very minor when put in comparison to the product as a whole. I give it a 5-star rating--go out and buy it.
