Description:

So you're a Mac loyalist but you kind of envy the two-button capabilities of the mice made by the competition. What to do? Macally has stepped up to the plate with this USB programmable Internet mouse made specifically for the Mac. Not only does it have two buttons, but it also features a scroll wheel in the middle.

The iSweet Net mouse is compatible with Mac OS 8.6 and higher, so you'll need to update if you're using anything older. Included in the package is a CD with the software you'll need to fully use your mouse (if you don't install it, the mouse will still work but without the bells and whistles). The disc comes loaded with Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 to open the documents. You'll need to install this if you don't already have it, as earlier versions won't work.

The mouse is defaulted to a left single-click button and a right double-click button, but the user's manual will explain how to customize these features. The scroll wheel can be set to line scroll or page scroll at whatever speed you choose--a great asset for professional (or addicted) Web surfers. Using your modifier keys, the mouse can be programmed to recognize most-often used keystrokes.

Ergonomically designed, the elongated mouse rests easily in both the right and left hands. The rounded end cups your palm comfortably to reduce clenching and cramping. To change jackets (they come in all five Mac flavors plus the special edition graphite), wedge your fingernails under the top sections and pop it up. The jacket comes right off, and you can slide another on. --Dana Van Nest
