Summary: A good mouse, easy to install on my old iMac...
Review: I am using it now to replace my old iMac mouse. It only took about two minutes to install on my iMac. The scroll wheel works great, except in Quicken 2001. But it is most useful with Internet Explorer anyway. The bottom line is that there are probably better mice out there, but for the price and for use on my three year old iMac this is a good choice.

Summary: Much Better Than Hockey Puck Mouse!
Review: I bought this mouse to use on my Blueberry Apple iBook, and let me tell you, it works GREAT! The Logitech MouseWare software was super-easy to configure, and I had the mouse working in about 10 minutes. I really like the scroll wheel and the control-click feature of the right mouse button, its so much more convienient than having to hit the "control"key on the keyboard everytime I want a contextual menu to appear (coming from the wintel world, I find right-clicking very native). I would reccommend this mouse to anyone who needs a mouse for a Mac laptop equipped with USB, or anyone who is stuck with the very unergonomic "hockey puck" mouse that came with iMac and G4's before the release of the Apple Optical Mouse.

Great Product Logitech!!!

Review: I chose this mouse over several others because I have a new blueberry i-book; my thinking was: "okay, this product is designed specifically for i-macs/i-books; the color will match perfectly; plus it's got that great scrolling option." Well, was I misled! That wonderful scrolling option--it doesn't work in Appleworks on the latests i-books, thereby rendering it useless. Worse yet, not only does it not work, but if you attempt to use the scroll feature in Appleworks it will entirely freeze up the computer, necessitating an "illegal" shutdown of the hardware, which means you risk losing info/documents/data and have the hassle of resetting date/time/etc. functions when you reboot. I WASTED TWO FRIGGIN HOURS! over the weekend trying to diagnose the problem. I un-installed the software, and re-installed it--no luck. Played around with the various mouse settings--still no luck. Then I went to the Logitech website and followed all the instructions for those with "scrolling problems"--none of the instructions worked. I then called the company (by the way, the tel.number is NOT toll-free!) on Monday morning and was told that they would "get back to me," which they did later that day (still another inconvenience/delay). When at last they contacted me it was only to tell me that, yes, they were aware of this problem with the latest i-books and that sometime this winter (today's October 9th) they would mail me updated software which would correct this problem, and no, I wasn't crazy, it wasn't anything I did wrong or could fix myself. GIVE ME A BREAK! They are aware of this problem and yet continue to advertise their "Mac-specific" product with wonderful features which don't even work! I bought this product over others partly because of its price and partly because of the scrolling feature. It would be bad enough if the scroll button didn't work--but the fact that it will freeze my entire computer if I dare touch it is downright untenable. As far as price/savings--I WASTED TWO HOURS OF MY VALUABLE TIME dealing with a problem for which there is no solution, a problem which the company is aware of and yet fails to disclose. Any "savings" I might have had relative to the price of this mouse went down the toilet when I had to spend so much time contending with this scrolling debacle. What a shabby, deceitful way to conduct business. Moreover, I simply can not understand the positive review by Mr. Gayhart; he must own a first generation i-book for which this scrolling issue is moot. BUT BEWARE, ANYONE WHO HAS BOUGHT AN i-book IN THE YEAR 2000 (a second generation machine). This mouse will not scroll for you in Appleworks, will freeze your computer if you attempt to do so, and will give you needless headaches/frustration. I am SO ANGRY that Logitech has the gall to promote/sell a product based on a feature which doesn't even work! I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER LOGITECH PRODUCT. NEVER AGAIN.

Summary: Better than what your Mac came with
Review: Notwithstanding the comments of one frustrated user, I think this mouse a great replacement for the non-wheel mice provided by Apple. I found installation a snap, and its use even easier. Though I don't have AppleWorks, which another user has found somewhat incompatible, I've been able to use the wheel with every program I have. It's even recognized by Virtual PC, making it useful with all Windows based programs running on the Mac. As for the cord being somewhat short, I suppose it would be, if it didn't plug directly into the keyboard. Still, it's not all that difficult to get an extension cord, even for those who have to plug it directly into the back of their Macs. My biggest niggle is just that it only comes in G3 blueberry. It would be nice if they came in a whole range of colors, as befits the current range of Mac options available. Other than that, I've found it to be a huge improvement over Apple-supplied mice, however chic those may look.

Summary: Great mouse for everybody
Review: This is a great mouse. I had the round mouse that comes with the iMac for about a year, and it was starting to get to small for my growing hand. If you're looking for a mouse to replace the "hockey-puck" mouse, this is it.

First, it's a standard shaped mouse that feels great, even if you are a lefty. The control is crisp, and it moves cleanly over any serface, even without a mousepad.

It includes two buttons and the scroll wheel. The whell acts as a third button if you press it down, and it doesn't feel awkward at all.

The only downside is that, like many other mice, the ball chamber is hard to open. I had to use a flathead screw driver to open it. That could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your point of view.

Overall, a great mouse. A great buy -- I'm not disapointed at all.

Summary: Great replacement mouse
Review: When it came time to replace my little circular iMac mouse a few months ago, all I could find was the Logitech Wheel Mouse...thank god it's the best mouse I've ever owned. =) Its ergonomic design is a wonder for both left and right-handed people. its simple design also makes it amazingly easy to use. (unlike say, the kensington Optical Pro, which has lots of easy-to-hit-accidenally buttons. Less is more!)

I experienced some problems with the software; right clicking on the desktop usually led to a system crash - I learned to do without.

What I like most about this mouse was the scroller; I loved the way it felt =) Cleaning the mouse is a pain, but that's what happens with all non-optical mice.

Get out and get the mouse! Well, actually, get the optical version - no cleaning!
