Summary: A good mouse but....
Review: I enjoy this product----but there is one problem that I have discovered. I recently put a glass top on a old wooded desk. The reflective component of the glass doesn't let the mouse work at all-I end up putting it back on a mouse pad! The manufacture may have indicated this somewhere, but it is worth knowing if you have a glass top or a reflective desk surface

Summary: Best mouse I've ever used
Review: This is easily the best mouse I've ever used over the Logitech 4 button mouse. The tracking is excellent, the scroll wheel is very smooth, the 5 buttons are nice. I use the mouse for browsing the web and gameplaying. It takes some getting used too but after a breaking-in period I find that the mouse is almost flawless. Only negative is that it doesn't like some surfaces but that's no big deal and easy to remedy.

Summary: This mouse is an excellent gaming mouse
Review: I play a lot of first person shooter style games (Unreal Tournament and Quake 3) and the extra buttons are incredible for changing weapons, crouching and zooming. I no longer have to take my hand of the arrow keys to change my weapons and zoom, WOW!

Summary: Amazing. Simply amazing.
Review: I LOVE THIS MOUSE! The time IS right for optical mice, and i am so glad i never have to clean it again. AND IF YOU'RE A COMPUTER GAMER, THIS IS MUCH BETTER THAN A REGULAR MOUSE. I have experienced absolutely NOTHING with this mouse that i have not liked. The precision is perfect, the weight is perfect, the shape is perfect, THIS IS THE LAST MOUSE I WILL BUY FOR A LONG TIME!

Summary: I Would Say I Was Just Lucky, But I Rarely Am
Review: I received this as a gift, but as a gadget lover, I was destined to be a "sure thing" for this mouse. The optical tracking with no moving parts makes this a huge step forward. If the net is a place you spend a great deal of time, this again sets the standard. I have not had any of the problems that I have read below, but as a new product there is no way to know how consistant it will be over time. My experience to date has been excellent, it does takes some getting use to; despite it's size it is incredibly light, as I generally have set mine up to minimize movement, I was not as accurate when I first starting using it. For left handed users Microsoft has ignored you which ubfortunately makes them consistant with many other companies. Small hands may not find it comfortable, but the larger size is better for me. I do use it on a pad as it is silent, and this may help the accuracy even though it's advertised as not requiring a traditional pad. I hooked mine up through the traditional ps2 input and all has been fine. If you are a graphics designer you might want to try one before buying, mine is very accurate, but an extra cup of coffee, and it can be hyper-sensitive. I do love it, and although it has nothing to do with performance, it looks great as well.

Summary: Just like any other mouse. Nothing special.
Review: This mouse is absolutely the same as any other mouse. The technology is different, but who cares? It's precision is not excellent and I don't think it's too confortable to use it without a mousepad. What makes it a bit different from the other mice is that it's pretty, it has 5 buttons with the scroll wheel. The red light in the back is totaly unnecessary. Buying this mouse is like buying an 800 Mhz processor which you don't need.

Summary: Love it!
Review: When I first unpacked this mouse, I wasn't impressed. The lightweight feel (due mainly to the lack of a roller ball) certainly made it seem cheap. After using it for less than a day, though, I'm hooked! It glides along my desktop much easier than my IBM Scrollpoint mouse did, the rollerwheel makes scrolling a pleasure, and the buttons have a solid, precision feel to them. One of my favorite features: depress the roller wheel for a brief second, and an up/down icon appears on screen. Next, to automatically scroll through a document, simply move the mouse towards the top of the screen to scroll upward, or move it towards the bottom to scroll downward. The farther the mouse pointer is moved from the up/down icon, the faster the scrolling will be.

I'm left-handed, but have no trouble using the mouse with my right hand.

A winner from Microsoft, and definitely worth the money!

Summary: Very disappointing
Review: This is an ok mouse if you do very light mouse work, it's nice as a novelty item and an "wow look at that no mouseball" item but if you use your mouse hard or quickly forget about this! I play games and do a lot of graphics work on my computer and noticed that the mouse would lose it's plcae on the screen if i moved my mouse at any speed above normal, even at normal speed the mouse has a tendency to leap of in odd directions, which is very annoying when you do precise graphics work. I tried about 15 different surfaces and even tried both the USb and ps/2 interfaces both yielded the same results. Unless something was wrong with my mouse i recommend you steer clear of this

Summary: Tracking Stinks
Review: I wonder if my mouse is broken? The tracking is not good. Sometimes the pointer just jiggles on the screen and sometimes it goes whacky and goes to one corner of the screen. I found the tracking is better on a non-reflective surface, such as paper or a soft mousepad. The tracking was worse on reflective surfaces, including my hard mouse pad and tabletop. I liked the idea of never having to clean my rollers, but after forcing myself to use this mouse for hours, I ripped back off my computer. Maybe I'll return it. I spend a lot of time cleaning everyone's mice at work, but I guess I'll have to keep doing it. The time is getting closer, but still not ripe for optical mice to hit the market.
