Summary: How could i live without it.
Review: I just got this mouse and i really don't know how i was able to work on the net without it. This is a real timesaver and it very accurate.

Summary: Great For Surfing the Net or the Hard-Core Gamer
Review: I remember cursing at my mouse for always sticking; I remember me having to clean the horrid thing over and over and over (get the point?). I saw this hot little item and I thought it sounded like a great idea, no sticking or cleaning ever again. And boy was I right, I was astonished at the accuracy of the mouse! I like to play a lot of games and I actually work with webart and computer graphics and my drawing was such an improvement.......................................Included in this mouse are 5 buttons: 1.The left mouse button 2.The right mouse button 3.The middle scroller button 4-5.And surprisingly, two buttons located on the sides that let you go forward or back on a webpage (Also add to the programmable buttons that you can input for the controls on a game). Microsoft does it again (sorta unfair sometimes.....) with this one, a must buy.

Summary: A good Mouse, but...
Review: I agree with all the persons who say that this mouse is awesome... but I tested it in Paintbrush and these are the results: I can't slide the mouse pixel per pixel... it skip one pixel and runs two pixels at a time... I expect that Microsoft can do something to fix this problem...

Summary: You'll never go back to regular mousing again...
Review: When I first saw this mouse - aside from being impressed by the super futuristic styling and cool red lights - I was a bit skeptical. I had just transfered from my handy MS Mouse to the Mouse with the roller on it and had just become accustomed to using that nifty feature. To me mousing had never really seemed to be a difficult task...But on Christmas day, I received this mouse as a present from my dad who swore that it was the greatest thing. In fact, he thought it was so great that he bought in bulk and gave them to every member of my nerd family. I took new friend home and plugged it in to the USB port on my laptop. At first, I have to be honest - I didn't notice that much of a difference. I continued to use the mouse and didn't think much about it. That is until I was forced to use someone else's MS Mouse. The old brick. What I found was such a difference that I couldn't believe that I had ever used such a slow, annoying device before! So here are some key points that I enjoy about this mouse: You no longer need to have a mouse pad! I have a laptop and use it everywhere - including just sitting in my bed. I have found that this is great to use with graphics programs because it's so much more accurate than a regular mouse. Surfing is easier with this mouse because the scroll button on it is very smooth. And the looks are so cool, even if the mousing sucked (which it doesn't) you could just use it as a laser light to entertain your pet...

Summary: Don't Get Ripped Off!
Review: Don't spend the extra money on the intelli mouse explorer, just buy the intellimouse. They both have 5 buttons, and they're both optical. And in all honesty, the intellimouse's button placement is far better than that of the explorer. Plus the intellimouse isn't as bulky, allows for right or left handed use, and the best part, intellimouse is 20 dollars cheaper. I own both mice (explorer at home, intellimouse at work0. I'll just say that other that the size and the button config, the explorer is just a waste of 20 bucks.

Summary: The Best Add-on Input Device Available
Review: I've been using my IntelliMouse Explorer since March, with only one complaint: I can't buy another one to install on my system at work. This mouse has seriously spoiled me. No more sticky or sluggish operation like with my conventional mouse, and the programmable forward and back buttons make surfing the net much smoother and faster. I was suprised to hear that some people have trouble hitting them by mistake, because my thumb lies very naturally underneath the buttons, until I need to use them. It really is very intuitive in the operation. I also really enjoy the wheel scroll feature. You can actually click on the wheel itself, and then use the mouse to scroll through long web pages at lightning speed. All this, plus it just looks so darn cool on my desktop. I shopped all over, both in my home town and online last spring, because after I saw one in person, I had to have one. After much searching, I found one for $69.99, which was $5 less than anywhere else. Now I find it on Amazon for $15 less than the "sale" price. I'm going to get one for my parents for Christmas, mostly for them, but also because I hate using their dinky little mouse when I go over to help them out with PC problems. All around an excellent tool, and now at an even better price.

Summary: After one year of use...
Review: After one year this thing still works just as good as the day I installed it. Definitely proven as one of my better pc purchase decisions. I have never cleaned underneath it. I have never had a problem. My hand doesn't get sore like it used to when I was using traditional mice. It has been a great performer for general mouse work. Not very suitable for tight cad work though. I originally considered the programmable side buttons an interesting novelty. I now consider these a necessity, esp for browsing. The shape may be too large for small hands and unacceptable for lefties. I originally wrote the customer review... "A winning technology w/ a questionable package., December 15, 1999" and my views there remain unchanged.

Summary: I've always hated using a mouse...but I love this one!
Review: I have always hated using a mouse, but I love this one. I've been using it for about 2 weeks. As some reviewers have already noted it is larger than the mouse it replaced. I think that is a plus. Maybe the kids won't find it as comfortable as some of the smaller ones, but I am an adult with an adult size hand. The overall responsiveness of the mouse makes it a pleasure to use. It is "tight" like the steering on a new car. The 2 internet buttons have helped speed me up... I seem to be forever returning to that prior page. As to price, I may not be as diligent a price shopper as some internet users, but I did check Staples, and Comp USA, and found that the amazon.com price to be the best. I suppose that this will come down with time. Overall, if you are looking to replace your old mouse, I suggest that you consider buying this one.

Summary: Optical Mice Too Fragile for Extended Use
Review: I run a lab environment in a university and we acquired about 20 of these mice earlier this year. Sadly, they haven't held up over time. While I haven't had students complain about some of the other criticism mentioned in these reviews (too big, too many easily clicked buttons), more than 50% of them have stopped working or only work sporadically. The problem seems to be that the wiring in the mouse "tail", at its point of connection with the mouse, breaks after extended use, rendering it pretty much useless. On the other hand, I use one on my home computer, where it gets less frequent and easier wear and haven't had a problem yet. The upshot is, if you're a heavy duty mouser, or have machines that get hard and constant use, the Intellimouse simply won't last.
