Summary: Great item for laptops on the road
Review: I admit I gagged a little on the price, but I needed a mouse I could toss in my briefcase with my IBM X21 notebook and use anywhere, with or without a mouse pad. The optical tech is great--no moving parts, no ball to get stuck--and works surprisingly well on uneven and randomly-colored surfaces. It's small enough to tuck well in a crowded briefcase, but not so small that it's hard to use for long periods of time. I'll admit it: I've beaten the daylights out of it for several months now, and it's never dropped a bit. Highly recommended, even at what I consider a painful price point.

Summary: The mouse pictured is not what you get
Review: I already use this mouse with my laptop, and I want another for my desktop. I love the ergonomic feel of it in my small hand. It's a perfect fit, with the curved inner side making an ideal thumb rest. However, what you receive when you order this mouse is not the one in the photo. The new version is a squat, uniformly roundish shape like most ambidextrous mice these days, with the buttons placed differently also. I didn't even open the package as I'm going to send it back and see if I can find the pictured mouse some place else.

Amazon: it would help if you updated the photo when the product changes.

Summary: Targus PAUM003U Optical Mini Mouse
Review: Not at all good. Maybe I just got a defective one, but the left mouse button fails to reliably 'click' after just a weeks use. Also, it seems to move slugishly when the CPU is stressed; e.g. during video playback, etc, when other mice (and the touchpad) function properly. It's not in the trash yet, but it's close.
