Rating: Summary: Excellent Mouse with Innovative Design! 4,5 stars! Review: I use this optical mouse for almost 1 year and love its truly ergonomic and sharp innovative design. Surprisingly to its external appearance it fits nicely in my hand and connects through retractable USB cord, which is a big plus.
Due to the fact that I've Toshiba Satellite M35-S359
with Windows XP Home Edition I had no problem with its installation without a redundant enclosed software on the floppy (Required for older versions of Windows '95, '98...)
I easily plug this mouse in and unplug it whenever I need to go out with my laptop.
Pros:
- Sharp, innovative outlook makes you stand out of the crowd.
- Ergonomic design which you will or may not enjoy working
with only 2 fingers and very soft, and the least exertion.
- Retractable USB cord.
- Optical, which says for itself.
Cons:
- Does not work smoothly (skips) on surfaces with a high light
reflection (glare)
- May attract dust through its wheel's hole and due to mouse's
transparent case it may cause cosmetic concerns. So that you
must take care of it.
I don't use mousepad at all but this mouse does not work smoothly on some painted wooden surfaces, most notably in white-painted tables with a very smooth surface and high level of light reflection.
To prevent this I use to put a sheet of blank, white paper under it. For only this minor reason I gave it 4 stars but it is just a minor drawback and the mouse truly does worth 4,5 stars if not all 5.
Also, it may catch some dust under its transparent case. For example I already have there a couple pieces of hair, which is kinda a cosmetic drawback because mouse has a transparent top of its case. Make sure to find for this mouse some sorta carrying case to prevent its dust collection in your notebook bag or you may just wrap it in a soft cloth or transparent, resealable plastic bags.
P.S. SIIG is a U.K. company but the mouse was made in China.
Hope this of help and thanks for attention.
