Summary: Nice mouse at a decent price.
Review: I bought this mouse - as it was free after the TurboTax rebate. I am using it to replace a Dell scroll mouse - with ball.

I never intstalled the drivers that came with this mouse - it just worked with my old drivers under both Windows 2000 and RedHat Linux.

Manuvering the pointer is much easier with this mouse than any of my previous ball-based mice. It feels much more acurate.

The buttons and mouse-wheel feel a little cheeper than on the original Dell mouse, but given the price (free after rebate), I can live with that.

Summary: Didn't Work Well At All With My Games or In General
Review: I bought this mouse several months ago to play some computer games. The first day I used it, the mouse worked fine. The next day I tried using the mouse and it was all jUmPy. I tried playing some games such as Quake with the mouse and it made movements on its own and often got stuck in a spinning cycle. I tried software and drivers for the mouse but nothing worked. The mouse worked a little better in Windows 2000 then XP. DON'T BUY THIS...Pros:Looks good Cons: Jumpy movements moved on its own Didn't work well with computer games Spinned around in games

Summary: Elegant Simplicity
Review: This is such a wonderful little mouse. There are no extra bells or whistles. It simply is a standard 3 button scrolling optical mouse (with the scroll wheel as the third button). It does everything you expect the way you expect. Just plug it in, and use it. Whether you use the Mouseware software to configure it or not, you still get precise control over the cursor.

It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some mice (with the extra thumb button, or cordless recharging station), but if you want a simple accurate mouse for a very reasonable price, it's hard to top this one. The only downside is that its tracking accuracy severely goes down on reflective materials (including shiny magazine covers), so if you use this with a laptop, be sure to keep an inexpensive fabric mousepad (don't use one with the smooth reflective finish) with you.

Summary: Ok mouse for the price, suggest a different logitech mouse
Review: This mouse is okay for the price. I would suggest a Logitech MX, a little bigger mouse for comfort. A mouse with more than three buttons is suggestable.

Summary: Great Optical Mouse
Review: I now own two of these style mice from Logitech. My original mouse on my computer and now the mouse I just bought for my wife's computer. I use a Mac G3 and my wife has a Window ME machine. Both mice are great. I will never go back to a ball mouse again.

Summary: 2 years and still going
Review: I purchased this mouse a couple years ago when I was having problems with my HP OEM ball mouse...back when it cost about ... I've used the mouse with win95/98/me/2k/xp with both PS/2 and USB interfaces, and it works fine. Although there was a plug and play error with Win95/98 with USB. Plug and Play tried to install drivers for both a "human interface device" as well as a "PS/2 compatible mouse", and it everytime the machine would boot up, it would inform me that system changes were made and would ask to restart. I then went into the Windows Device Manager and disabled one of the devices (I don't remember which), and then I was never prompted to restart again. ..I blame this on Windows plug and play, not Logitech. If I would have installed the Logitech software, instead of relying on plug and play, I would not have encountered this problem. No plug and play problem with newer versions of windows. All in all, it's a great mouse!

Summary: the better optical mouse at this price
Review: Well, i bought this free a few weeks ago with rebate. What else can you say about a free optical mouse? But just ignore the rebate, I own this optical mouse and another one: Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical. They are comparable in price, but this logitech one is clearly the better choice. More responsive, comfortable, accurate, better feel, better look, ....... Logitech products haven't disappointed me so far. I guess no matter what Bill does, Microsoft can't stiffle competition here. Microsoft is just not that great on hard ware.

I gave only 4 stars because this mouse is not perfect, of course. More $ can buy you a better mouse. But this is a great value for the money (even without rebate).

Summary: This is a great mouse!
Review: This is a great mouse! I acquired the Logitech Wheel Mouse Optical Blue to replace Microsoft Wheel Mouse and I am quite happy with it. Slightly smaller than the Microsoft Wheel Mouse, the logitech mouse fits the hand more comfortably. It tracks extremely well on a just about any surface - mousepad, desktop, or even your leg if you use it with a laptop. The mouse has a very smooth and precise high-quality feel to it, allowing for extremely good finger-tip control. The old trackball-type mouse feels quite junky and primitive by comparison.

It comes with a USB connector and a PS-2 adapter, allowing it to be adapted to most systems.
