Summary: Solid and stylish, but a bit uncomfortable
Review: First, I admit I'm a fan of Microsoft mouses. But I'm not closed-minded, and do have in my possesion the Logitech Mouse Pro Traveler mini-mouse which I carry with my Fujitsu notebook.I got the Wheel Mouse Optical Blue as a gift from my ex-employer as a pink-slip present. OK, I'd rather keep the job, but what the heck, I don't decline freebies. The Wheel Mouse is nice and stylish, and is pure plug-n-play on Windows XP. You don't need to install the software, although I imagine the Logitech software gives you some customization functions. I never bother with customizing my mouses anyway; just stick with the one-click, one-shortcut-menu, and scroll-up-and-down basic functions. So the Wheel Mouse works very well on any surface; just don't try it on glass since it won't pick up reflection right. Its cool blue color turns heads at Starbucks. But I'm not all happy with its ergonomics; like many other Logitech mouses, including my prized Mouse Pro Traveler, your hand will get tired after about 15 minutes of use. Of course, your actual mileage can vary, but the point is, Microsoft mouses are still more comfortable, especially for people like me with large hands.

Summary: it's very cool, it's very smooth....and i'm very happy!
Review: I really love this mouse. It's the only optical mouse I have, and I must admit, it is VERY smooth. I love the design, I love the comfort it has when in your hand and I love the quality that is generally found in a logitech mouse. among all the keyboards nad mice I have used, I feel that logitech is the way to go. Microsoft does have some good ones, as do other companies; it may be okay to go with one of those, but if you're like me and you love logitech, this is definitely a good choice. You should pay attention that this is not a wireless mouse. I have both. Sometimes wireless gets annoying since I have to put new batteries and re-sync it. Also, it's very, very annoying when your wireless mouse accidentally falls off your desk. It hits the ground really hard, which is something that'll never happen to a mouse like this. For the time being, I personally would not buy another wireless keyboard and mouse until bluetooth technology improves and is a lot cheaper (those wireless keyboards and mice are about $150 to $200 with that technology). I currently use this blue optical mouse with a dell laptop, and I have never had a single problem with it. If you purchase it you will definitely be very comfortable with it and happy that you bought it. I recommend it highly. :)

Summary: Terrible Lag
Review: This mouse goes into hibernation after a second of inactivity. There is then a second or so of lag after you move the mouse again before the cursor moves again. This makes the mouse UNUSABLE for games! It also makes it very frustrating to do any fine work with CAD or graphics. The sort of lag I am talking about is typical of cordless mice, where, as your would it expect, it has to conserve as much battery power as possible. But this is a not a cordless mouse! It seems that logitech used the same parts from their cordless mouse in this corded one and the results are terrible. To make matters worse sometimes the mouse doesn't want to wake up at all without physically picking it up and shaking it violently. At other times it appears to sleep, then wake randomly on its own. In some apps the mouse cursor vanishes off screen entirely when the mouse decides to sleep, then reappears on the other side of the screen. Like I said, its unusable for games.

Summary: Users of Apple products will like it
Review: I've been auditioning the replacement to my hockey puck for some time. I first tried Logitech's Trackman Optical with the thumb trackball. That worked great except for a couple things. For simple Internet use it was great, but I'm a graphic artist, and I need something I can draw and trace around things with, and the marble wasn't cutting it with my naturally nervous hands. Drawing in Macromedia Freehand with it was a nightmare. So, since it didn't meet my needs 100%, I took it back and found this one. It's basic, and there's nothing wrong with basic for those of us who like simplicity. I got the blue one (it comes also in red), which goes really well with my purple computer. I have two buttons now; the right one I programmed for doubleclick. Makes me feel like a real PC person. (Ha!) Speaking of which, it comes with a green adapter for a Windows device I will never use, so I've got a spare if anyone wants one. One should be warned never to pick the mouse up and stare at its underside, because that's a laser beam. The mouse glows red every time you put your hand on it. Best feature is the scroll wheel. However, I've found that there's a bug of some kind with my Netscape 6.2.3 when you push on it. Using it for a back button calls up a new blank window...not much help, so do it the old-fashioned way. Also, I've noticed it crashes the computer on occasion, not sure why. One less star for that. The mouse will point and click without the Mouseware software, but if you install it, you can program the mouse and scroll. It's also the same software you get with the Trackman, so no need to reload for it. All in all, it's a vast improvement over the mouse I've been using for three years, and I'm not a gamer so I don't need it to have bells and whistles. Now, if I could just find a bigger keyboard with USB ports and a power button that doesn't cost an arm and a leg!

Summary: Greatest mouse I've used yet!
Review: Unlike the Intellimouse Explorer this mouse has a heavy, solid feel to it. It tracks wonderfully on any surface and it is very comfortable to use. The Explorer is a little too large for most people to comfortably hold, but this Logitech mouse is a perfect size and shape for both right and left handed users. The buttons and scroll wheel both have an excellent feel to them. The scroll wheel is solid enough so you don't accidentally scroll while using the third button, but it is also smooth enough to be easily used to scroll through long documents. The software that comes with the mouse is small, easy to install, and it provides seemingly endless functionality. As far as performance is concerned, this mouse is unmatched in smoothness and precision. Other optical mice seem to have problems tracking on certain surfaces and when flicked quickly, but I have yet to experience any tracking errors with this mouse. I have more than doubled my mouse sensitivity settings in all of my games, it is much more precise than any mouse I have ever had before. Highly recommended!

Summary: Beats Apple's optical mouse...MUCH cheaper, too.
Review: As a former Windows user, I am used to a 2-button mouse and hated Apple's own optical mouse, which only has one button and feels wrong in my hand. Several months ago I bought Logitec's optical mouse and couldn't be happier with it. Unlike the skimpy cord on my Apple mouse, the Logitec mouse's cord reaches far enough for me to plug it into any USB outlet on my computer, not just the ones on my keyboard. Installation was swift, and I didn't even have to do any special programming for the extra button/scroll wheel: it was all set up the moment I finished installing the software. I haven't had any performance problems--as far as I can tell, it tracks at least as well as the Apple mouse. Importantly, the Logitec mouse is easier on the hand. While it isn't as ergonomic as some mice (it isn't molded to fit into the right hand, in other words), it's a good deal more comfortable to use for long periods than the Apple optical mouse. The buttons are confined to the top portion of the mouse and slant downwards--no more accidental clicking. At the same time, since they are much smaller than the hinging button integrated into the Apple mouse, they click much more rapidly. Finally, it costs less than half the price of Apple's mouse. While it doesn't match my G4 the way Apple's did, it is superior in every other regard.

Summary: Wild Mouse
Review: Got tired of my old mouse of not working properly so I replaced it with this Logitech optical mouse. For the first few days I was delighted with it and then it started acting very erratic - jumping all over the screen - very difficult to use at times and hard to be accurate with it. Am currently looking for a replacement.

Summary: Reliable Logitech mouse
Review: I have the orginal blue for my mac, and used it for 2 years. Ever since my pc purchase, I've been thinking of purchasing another. Then I saw the black edition, I thought it would fit the color preference of my compaq. It's smooth, nice scroll lock.

Review: Much more accurate than a regular ball mouse. Requires no cleaning since there are no moving parts to get gunked up over time. Looks cool when the red light comes on in response to activity.

Review: It is a very comfortable mouse and the scrolling is very smooth but the pointer has a tendicy to jump and dissapear, this is very noticable when playing games, other than that reason its is a very good mouse
