Rating: Summary: Finally relief from constant hand/wrist pain !! Review: I create detailed drawings and use a mouse for long periods of time. For the last year I've had almost constant pain in the top of my hand and in my wrist area. I tried pads, gloves, ACE bandages and pills. Finally I realized the pain was caused by holding my index/ring finger on my right hand poised over the right mouse button that was causing the pain. A trackball won't allow the precision dragging lines and symbols because I tried a really nice optical one. This Evoluent vertical mouse solved the problem and I am now pain free. YES !! Too bad I paid +$150 to doctors and other products.
Rating: Summary: new mouse NO pain Review: I don't normally write reviews. I am a detail guy to the core, physicist, engineer, programmer. I am telling you the truth. This mouse design is far better than the standard mouse design. I had ulna surgery and the doctor put in a plate. An hour of standard mouse use hurt a great deal. Then the other wrist started hurting. At the beginning of the work day I had to decide which wrist to sacrifice and use it to run the standard mouse. Using the Evoluent mouse stopped the pain. There is no pain in using this "correct" design. I used the standard mouse a week later because I had forgotten to take the Evoluent mouse home with me. The pain came back after only 15 minutes of standard mouse use. I ordered my second Evoluent mouse today. It works. With the state of healthcare the way it is, we need to take matters into our own hands. Put this mouse into your hands, and it might stop the hurting as fast as it did for me. My 2 cents. I have received nothing for writting this review.
Rating: Summary: Simply Nothing Better Review: I have developed pain in both hands using a computer and was unable to use a computer. I tried other products and none came close to relieve the pressure off of the tendons than the Evoluent Vertical Mouse. If you have pain look no longer your prayers have been answered.
Rating: Summary: Find of the Century!!!! Review: I have gone out of my way to write this review because I love this product so much. I am on the computer constantly and was experiencing pain in my wrist and forearm. It's now gone. I won't work with another mouse ever again. I do not work for this company. I am not affiliated with anyone who sells or distributes these, I just am that happy with how it works! If you are experiencing discomfort from your mouse this is the product for you.
Rating: Summary: Excellent - Quality Product Review: I have tried two vertical mice - The "Quill" mouse and the Evoluent Vertical. Hands down, the Evoluent wins. The Quill mouse was a huge dissapointment to myself and several others who purchased it at work. You will be dissapointed if you order the Quill mouse - it is large, awkward, goofy, feels like you are wearing a cast, is made out of [plastic], and has no resistance because the plastic is so light... Avoid the Quill Mouse! It is twice as expensive as the Evoluent and just horrible. It sits in a shelf in my office and when people come in looking for a mouse, I show them the two mice and they all are amazed at the difference. The evoluent is more of a normal mouse turned on its side, made of quality plastics and is programmable. It feels "right". It feels normal. I am very happy with it and have no more carpel or "tingling" problems associated with having a traditional mouse.
Rating: Summary: Reduces arm stress Review: I have used this mouse for about six months now. It took no time at all to get used to it. It is very comfortable and I'll probably never go back to a regular mouse, at least not at work. Being optical and having the extra buttons makes it as usable as the Intellimouse Explorer. The only downsides are: 1. The mouse arrow occasionally jumps accross my screen. 2. The mouse cable seems a bit flimsy and could be a tad longer. If it weren't for those two points, I would rate it at 5 stars.
Rating: Summary: Others don't compare! Review: I love this mouse! It feels great, and I love the back button, which takes you to the last page you visited. I hope I never have to give it up!
Rating: Summary: Different is better... at least in this case, IMHO. Review: I spend all day using a mouse, and was starting to have problems with significant pain and tingling in my wrist and fingers. I had tried a trackball in the past and didn't care for it (I guess I have fumblethumbs :), and the gyro mice and such are probably nice and all that, but I don't want to have to deal with batteries. So, probably as much for the lack of other possibilities as anything, I decided I'd give a vertical mouse a try. At first I tried it at home, but my desk is quite small and I am not able to rest my forearm on the desk... I found it awkward and disappointing in that scenario. I was seriously ready to add it to my pile of "things that I've wasted money on", but since the majority of my mouse time is at work with (what was at the time) a pitiful excuse for a mouse, I decided to try it there since the desk is much larger and I *can* rest my forearm on the desk. The pain and tingling have completely abated, and now I am so pleased with it that I am going to buy another (as well as a larger desk) for home use. As others have mentioned, it did take a short amount of time to get used to, but now that I have, I never want to go back!
Rating: Summary: Incredible product Review: I use the computer for at least 6 hours a day and over time it has taken its toll on my wrists. In particular, my right hand was cramping and my fingers seemed to be stuck in "ready to click" mouse button position. I finally went to the doctor and decided to get serious about tackling this problem. I purchased the Evoluent mouse and it has made an tremendous difference. I did use a wrist brace for a week in combination with the mouse, so that got me on the path to recovery. The mouse worked right away with my computer and I could configure all four buttons once I installed the free "Intellimouse Explorer" drivers from Microsoft. Everyone who has seen it at my office immediately wonders why all mice? are not made like this. I would like to see a cordless version of this mouse and maybe some colors, but this is superficial. In conclusion-buy this mouse, your wrist will thank you for it.
