Summary: The best keyboard and mouse I have ever used.
Review: I used to own the older mouse/keyboard set from logitech with the MX500, then I upgraded to this set.

The keyboard looks really nice, is not too heavy, and only requires 2 AA batteries, which still haven't run out. Each key seems to have its own switch, and the whole keyboard is designed so that an accidental spillage will not damage it. Although the software doesn't seem to work with Mozilla Firefox, the extra buttons are still very useful.

The mouse is the MX700, which is probably one of the best mice on the market. Although some people claim it's too heavy, I don't find this a problem. The extra 5 buttons are very useful, especially for games. Like the keyboard, the mouse software isn't too great though, however this really isn't a problem.

The dock for the mouse also acts as the tranceiver for both keyboard and mouse, and also includes all the keyboard lights (which obviously could not be put on a wireless keyboard). Charges last for around 3 days, and when your mouse is running out of power, a very obvious red light flashes on the top. The only real problem I've seen so far is that it can be a bit awkward to put the mouse into the dock so that it will charge. I think this could be related to build up of garbage on the contacts underneath the mouse.

It all works fine with Linux as well, no problems. 'imps2' mouse type if you were wondering. Overall, I would recommend this keyboard and mouse to anyone (although people with small hands may have a problem using it). It's worth every cent.

Summary: Fantastic keyboard and mouse. Minor aesthetic issue.
Review: I've been using the Logitech Cordless MX Duo for a few months now of constant use. I am a big time typer and gamer and have easily but this keyboard and mouse combination through over 1000 hours of use.

The keyboard works great and does not have any latency at all, even when typing at extremely high speeds in excess of 120 WPM. The spacebar and return key on my keyboard are constantly struck, but they continue to work fine. After typing more than ten pages of text a day, all the keys are still responsive and feel the same when struck as when the keyboard was originally purchased. My keyboard has been running on its original set of batteries for months and hasn't slowed down whatsoever. The spacebar hasn't even shown any wear on the plastic which is the first time I've seen such a trait on a heavily used keyboard's spacebar.

The mouse also works very well with great response both in the OS and games alike. The mouse needs to be charged often, but as long as it's in the cradle for a few hours at a time every other day or so, it works fine.

The only problem I've been having with this combination wireless set is purely with aesthetics. The mouse paint is slowly starting to wear off due to heavy usage, exposing the white and silver plastic beneath. The areas showing the most wear are on the left mouse button, the base where my palm rests, and the left hand side where my thumbs rests. In these areas small patches no more than a few millimeters across have developed, completely revealing the plastic underneath.

All in all, this is a great keyboard and mouse combination for both the typical and hardcore computer user. If you don't plan on using your keyboards for hundreds of hours on end then it is highly unlikely that you will see the wear issues I described. If you will be using it constantly, and aesthetics aren't a concern, than I highly recommend this combination set from Logitech. For the average user of course, this keyboard rocks - plain and simple.

Summary: Keyboard has slight lag if typing too fast.
Review: I've been using this keyboard/mouse set for about a week. The mouse was very smooth and it has very great sensitivity and it does not lag at all, it acts like a regular corded optical mouse which is very nice. The bad thing about this set is that the keyboard has a slight lag if you type too fast (I normally type about 100wpm) and I've tried everything I could by readjust the position of my reveier and make sure nothing is near it by 5 feet, changing batteries, etc etc. The Logitech software isn't a nice thing to use I personally perfer Windows XP build-in driver for this set. It is somewhat better than the Logitech dirve that came with it but you will lost all the F-key functions and some of the functions on mouse button. So far I'm giving this a 4 star just because the lag on the keyboard. I've never ran out of battery on mouse even after 8 hr of striaght use, the mouse never had red light blinking.

Summary: Scroll Wheel Issue
Review: I've had this keyboard and mouse combo for some time. While I do like being wireless, I've found myself having to switch to the Microsoft model for one reason. The scroll wheel is very useful, but Logitech has designed it with slight clicks, or detents in the wheel. While some claim this is useful for precision, I've found it debilitating. After a few weeks, the constant click pulse from the wheel on my fingertip has left it very sore and sensitive. Kind of like chinese water torture. At any rate it got so bad that I had to switch to the smooth scrolling mouse from Microsoft, and life is much better. Maybe this is not an issue for others, I'm not normally sensitive to such things, but I tought I'd better convey my experience.

Summary: Only one snag
Review: I've only been using the keyboard and mouse for a couple of days, but am pretty happy so far. My MX 700 isn't having any trouble on a semi-glossy table top and the range is nice. So far, the only problems have been these:

1. After installing software from included CD-ROM, mouse stopped working (I assume an issue with microsoft mouse driver or old mouseware compatibility, not sure). I restored my setting and downloaded the newest mouseware from logitech indivually and it worked fine.

2. F11 and F12 keys are supposed to go to "My Pictures," and "My Music" respectively, but they are instead linked to "Owner's Pictures," and "Owner's Music." Running XP with different users, I want the F11 and F12 keys to be user specific. I have contacted Logitech and will update if the problem is solved (I have downloaded the most recent i-Touch software).

Overall, a very nice product so far. Even if the F11/F12 doesn't straighten out, I would probably only drop to 4 1/2 stars. Nice design and functionality. The mouse is ultra usable in that all 8 buttons are useful.

*****UPDATE--Problem worked out. Under configure for F key, had to choose "open folder" and another pull-down appears to let you browse what you would like to link to an F key. Also, logitech customer service was surprisingly friendly and useful.

Summary: Ease of use
Review: The Logitech cordless keyboard and mouse are excellent! The keyboard has crisp button feel with multiple programable buttons to open your email server, your favorite web page, easily control your volume, a separate scroll wheel on the left and lots more. The keyboard is ultra slim as well, with a good wrist rest.

The mouse is the best part, though. I love the multiple buttons, and all of them are programmable with lots of choices. I programmed the wheel so when you press it down, it closes the program the mouse is on. Sweet! There are a couple of speed scroll buttons, so you don't keep turning the wheel. I've got the up button at the max, so I press it and the page scrolls to the top instantly.

I haven't tried the range out past a couple feet from the receiver, but my computer is in a hutch and the wood doesn't block the signal at all. I highly recommend this set. It has made a huge difference; no cables to move around, the optical never gets dirty, skips or suddenly stops the movement of the mouse. This set has worked flawlessly, no problems of slow response or hiccups. Enjoy it.

Summary: Superb Customer Service, Great Product
Review: This combination product works great - just super. Others will tell you about that.

I am here to tell you about customer service. My keyboard went out after I owned the system for 5 months. The rep & I tried to reboot it, this did not work, and WITHIN 3 business days I had a NEW KEYBOARD, MOUSE, and BASE STATION. Standing behind your product does not get better than that.

Summary: Great, with one big flaw
Review: This is a great combo wireless keyboard and mouse set. I love the mouse - it's big and heavy and moves very smoothly over my mousepad. The keyboard has lots of neat buttons and options, if you're into that. I didn't even install the iTouch software - all that extra junk doesn't do much for me. I really just wanted volume control, and the wireless functionality.

Here's where this particular hardware combo absolutely *stinks* - the mouse has two metal contacts, just like a wireless phone, for charging in the cradle. Well, for some reason, they never seem to line up correctly and the darn thing won't charge! I have to wiggle it around for 5 minutes just to get the contacts to line up properly for that little green LED to light up so I know it's charging. Hrm. Every cordless phone I've ever had seems to do that just fine - what the heck is wrong, Logitech?

Summary: Wireless is and useful.
Review: This is a pretty impressive bundle. Sure, you can get the wireless mouse, but why not the keyboard as well? It's worth the buck...

I've used these for a week, and I haven't been disappointed. The hub attaches to both the keyboard and mouse port on your PC, so you don't really need a free USB port, unless you want to use it on a laptop.

In either case, the keyboard is very responsive. I can't see any difference between this one and the corded one I had before, which was Logitech as well. It works just as good, if not better. I can even take it across the room and type up a report while I'm reclining in my comfortable seat! It's just like the commercial...

The mouse is a little different. I had a Microsoft Intellimouse before, the white one with five buttons. It was a good mouse, but it felt plastic and cheap. Also, when I moved it quickly, the cursor would just fly off faster than I could see it. This mouse, the MX700, is fantastic. Because it's wireless, it uses AA batteries, so it's quite a bit heavier than the Microsoft. It takes some time to get used to it, but after a while, it's not a problem. Also, the movement is much smoother than before and there is no detectable lag at all!

The rechargeable batteries are a good addition. Just put the mouse on the hub when the light goes on and after a short time you're ready to go again. It saves a lot of money.

The minor complaint I have, which really doesn't deter from enjoyment of the product is that if you leave the mouse for too long and you want to move it again, it takes about a second for it to wake up. After that, it works as it did before. It's not a big deal really. The benefits surely outweigh the costs.

Also, as I expected, I freed up a mile of space on my desk without these wires running around. It's much more useful to be able to put other things on the desk where I couldn't before. And, I find that it's better to use the mouse without a mousepad. It seems to impede movement slightly. It's much easier without it. It's a good thing too. I have more freedom to move it around now.

If you're looking for an upgrade that's as cool as it is useful, this is a good buy. The batteries last, and the charger helps. These are just as good as wired peripherals, and they're mobile. Can't go wrong with Logitech...
