Summary: Awesome, easy to use, and no bugs
Review: About a year ago, I purchased a wireless keyboard and mouse combination by MicroInnovations. The keyboard ceased to work after about a week of use, and the mouse was bulky and problematic.

I got fed up so I bought the Logitech Cordless MX Duo at Cirtuit City, and it is the best purchase I have ever made. The kayboard is comfortable and has all sorts of neat, useful, customizeable buttons. The mouse fits the contour of a hand, and also features a few useful convenient buttons. It is a very precise optical mouse that does not require you to move the mouse for a second to 'wake it up' unlike my last wireless mouse. The best part, I think, is the mouse charger, because now I am not constatly replacing the batteries.

And they look great.

Summary: does a keyboard ever hurt *your* hand?
Review: from a previous review :
now that's just performance, it types extremely well with it's semi-milky buttons and doesn't hurt your fingers very much at all, and the design is ace...

doesn't hurt your fingers? lol. who is this flower? hahaha it's a keyboard man. toughen up.

anyway, the keyboard and mouse rock. i'm still trying fo figure out how to configure the sleep button on the keyboard to lock the computer instead of putting it into sleep mode. I had that functionality done very easily in the microsoft combo. i actually liked the microsoft keyboard & mouse combo better, but i wanted this setup ONLY because it has the standard insert/home/pgup/delete/end/pgdown setup and microsoft, for whatever reason, decided that i didn't need the insert key and i would rather have a huge delete key. man. if microsoft didn't do that, i would definitely prefer keeping that setup. but, they had to mess up somewhere... other than that, the microsoft combo is MUCH better. the mouse on this logitech feels so foreign to me. it's kind of flimsy and the right side is very awkward.
perhaps most upsetting to me, the "shopping" button is REALLY annoying even to look at. the last thing i need on a keyboard is a shopping button. ugh. how hideously commercial. that's just tasteless, you know? i can get to a shopping site such as amazon.com plenty quick without needing a hotkey for it. why not just slap a "porn" button on here to connect to your prefered porn site. errr.

anyway, good performance so far. minor complaints obviously. however, if you don't have the same obsessive compulsive nature in needing a "standard" insert/home/pgup/del/end/pgdown keyboard, then definitely go with microsoft wireless optical desktop with BLUETOOTH. it's better in every way, really. for every peripheral i have owned, i have used both ms & logitech. i usually start with logitech and then end up with microsoft, with the exception being this time around. i have never once had a problem with a ms mouse but every logitech i've ever owned has gone bad after a few months of gaming use. i don't really game anymore, so i don't expect the same kind of problems, but logitech is VERY overrated. also, the audacity of logitech to place a MACINTOSH logo on the alt key is offensive to say the least. if anyone has any suggestions on how to safely erase that logo, please contact me.

Summary: Hi hopes, but a return for me.
Review: Had to return it.
Pros: Easy to set up, excellent battery life and recharge rate. The features on the mouse are sweet - increases productivity for standard Windows apps, keyboard buttons were neat but the only thing that worked for me was the volume control (I use XP Pro).
Cons: As a gamer - I noticed severe twitching during BF1942 menus, however actual network game play was fine. Mouse charger had a problem after about 30 days - couldn't detect that I had put the mouse in it to recharge. Then on the keyboard all the feature buttons were mapped to the wrong thing - I know you can reprogram them, but still, the skip track button on the keyboard mapped to the Messenger button in the setup etc. - definately not right. Worked w/ Logitech, they had me return it.

After working w/ the cordless mx700 optical mouse and then going back to my Logitech Wingman Gaming mouse (non-optical), I am noticing how much better my old mouse tracks - faster and more accurate, plus it never twitches on games, the don't sell it anymore though- like 3 years old or something.

Summary: Good but not quite Elite yet
Review: I bought this Duo set about 3 months back and have had the pleasure of going cordless. The set is solid but my biggest gripe has been the lack of accompanying documentation! There is no user manual!!! There is a sheet with pictures on how you connect it to the computer - that is all!!! Luckily that was pretty much what most people would need as it sets up easily. I would however have liked to have some hard documentation on the features in the box. If you can get it on a good deal ($60 -$80), its worth it. Hope the pro and cons below are useful too.

Keyboard
-------
Pro:
- Very nice feel, soft touch and quiet keys
- Battery has been on more than a month and still running strong

Con:
- The elite keyboard when bought separately has lights for Caps lock, Num lock, scroll lock but is missing in the Duo - Have to see the screen or base charger!

Mouse
-------
Pro:
- Good response and lots of configurable buttons (8)
- Fast re-charge - only takes 3 - 4 hrs to get to full strength.

Cons:
- A bit heavy
- Just not very ergonomically designed. Hand hurts after moving around for an hour because of the sheer size. I am guessing they expected pro players with huge palms to use it!
- Sometimes it looses connection to the base after coming off of standby and a OS re-boot (on XP home) is needed to correct it.
- Battery lasts a maximum of 10 days before needing a re-charge.

Summary: Excellent Product
Review: I bought this product roughly 6 months ago and have nothing but praise for its performance to date.

General thoughts:

1) No-wires - Fewer tangles under my computer which is tangled regardless. I personally have found I really do not need a wireless keyboard as far as using it remotely from my computer. However, I have had ideas of using this for gatherings and presentations, especially when used in conjunction with a projector.

2) Batteries - I have not had to replace the batteries at all yet. The mouse batteries run for an extremely long time and I find it is a long while before it tells me it needs to be recharged. Speaking the charger. I have the remote unit located fairly close to my monitor and without a longer cord (as provided by logitech) I do not see how I could follow their instructions of keeping it relateivly far away. That said, I've had zero problems with using this unit.

3)Ease of install (btw, I have just backed away from my computer about 7 feet from my computer while writing this review and am experiencing zero lag while typing this.) I would go onto say that I had little difficulty in installing ths product, but do consider myself to be an above average computer user and it may be easier for me than other people. Logitech does provide a quick-start guide, so you should be able to follow along and get the unit working.

Overall, this is a high quality product and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Summary: Nice stuff but poorly designed
Review: I decided to get the MX duo after reading all the good reviews here because I was looking for a nice wireless combo but after a few weeks it's proven to be somewhat of a let down. Here's the lowdown:

Good:
* The keyboard has a decent feel to it, and the mouse has no noticeable lag.
* Rechargeable mouse battery
* Some of the shortcut keys on the keyboard are nice. The only ones I use are the volume control and mute which are very nice to have at your fingertips.

Bad:
* All the other keyboard shortcuts which I never use. It makes the keyboard much bigger than I'd need. I hardly ever listen to CDs, the controls for which take the entire top center of the keyboard. Then theres a bunch of other garbage like search, shopping, favorites, webcam, etc which I've never touched.
* There is no indicator light on the keyboard for when you have caps / numlock on which is VERY annoying. There are, however, indicators on the recharger but it's way in the corner of my desk (they say it should be kept 3 feet from all other electronic devices). Any place I put it still makes it exceptionally aggravating to have to look over to see if I've accidently hit caps lock. Supposedly the software has some kind of indication that pops up on the screen, but I opted not to install the software because I didn't want all the stupid stuff they bundle with it. How hard is it just to keep the lights on the keyboard itself? If it aint broken...
* The battery life for the mouse seems to be about 4-5 days. But the worst part is, unlike mice with cord chargers, you can't use the mouse while it's charging because it's sitting the in base station. So you're SOL if your mouse dies while you're working. Keep your old one handy if you buy this set.
* I keep accidently hitting the "back" navigation button on the mouse which gets annoying too. It's big and right where your thumb can accidently press it.
* The mouse speed takes a while to get used to. Changing my mouse settings either makes it a little too fast or a little to slow.

I give this product 2 stars. It has its virtues, but overall I think Logitech tried to make it "too cool" without considering the design consequences. Save yourself some aggravation and pick up a different set.

Summary: versatile and convenient.
Review: I had it for a few months now. Used to have a big Microsoft natural multimedia keyboard.

Likes:
Keyboard battery hasn't run out yet after a few months.
Keyboard is pretty light.
Rechargeable mouse will save you a lot of battery in the long run.
Keyboard wireless range is pretty good, at least 10 ft.

Area it can improve:
somehow I never use most of the buttons on the keyboard.
Mouse should have more battery capacity. it runs out quick if you play games, due to the moving it has to process.
Mouse wireless range is not great, I can see the cursor moving but the clicks stop responding at around 6 ft. It's worse if your desk is cluttered, whose isn't!

Overall, totally recommend it, I can't go back to wires. At recent prices, I found it from whosave dot coom, which shows online sales, it's a sure buy.

Summary: Awesome!!!
Review: I havent had this keyboard and mouse set but an hour and its freakin awesome. all the options, f key options, browser, buttons, etc. its all awesome. so far i dont have any lag, i went to word and typed as fast as i could (randomly mashing keys) and it was instant! so i dont know why people say it has lag (prolly slow puters). i highly recommend this keyboard and mouse!

Summary: Good to go
Review: I just got my keyboard/mouse combo in the mail a few days ago and I have yet to experience any problems. I am using it with my laptop computer as an alternative to the keyboard and mouse that came built into the laptop.

Anyway, it works great. My brother was able to take the keyboard all the way to the other end of the house and then up two flights of stairs and it still typed. Range is not an issue as far as I can tell. The mouse lags when it gets tired, and needs a dark surface to work properly.

Other than that, all is well and I am pleased with my investment.

Summary: Very impressed
Review: I own both the Microsoft Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse as well as the Logitech MX Duo. The Logitech is by FAAAR the better product of the two.

1. There is no lag when using the keyboard and mouse. None.
2. The mouse charger is FAST! It will be nice never having to buy new batteries for it (instead of biweekly for the Bluetooth).
3. The buttons on the keyboard autoconfigured themselves very well, automatically configuring to use Winamp and Eudora. I only had to change a couple settings.
4. The keyboard and mouse were found automatically, I didn't even have to use the connect buttons (in order to get a secure keyboard connection it is necessary, but still simple). The benefit of this is that unlike with the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, you don't need a second keyboard to get things setup.
5. The keyboard and mouse work before Windows even finishes loading, no waiting for drivers to load as with the Bluetooth.
6. None of the problems that I had the the Microsoft setup. No stuck keys, and no losing peripherals.

I like this product a great deal, and at this point I don't have any complaints. It feels good to have a wireless keyboard and mouse the way it should be.
