Rating: Summary: Great product, excellent value Review: After a week of heavy usage, I am very satisfied with the m310. The mouse is very light and compact and is perfectly designed for travel. The wireless receiver fits inside the mouse when traveling. There is a spring-controlled door that covers the cavity where the receiver is stored so no dust can enter inside.
The mouse tracks very well but I've noticed two small problems. First, the sensor goes into lower power if the mouse is not moved in 30 seconds. Afterwards, it takes around a second before a movement of the mouse will be registered. Also, the mouse turns itself off after 5 minutes which can sometimes be annoying as it takes a button click to turn it back on. The second problem is that the mouse doesn't track on my C4-NGEN mousing surface (www.cshyde.com). This is a solid copper-colored teflon surface designed for low-friction movement. All of my logitech mice work perfectly on this surface but the m310 will not (actually it works initially but will not "wake up" after the sensor goes into lower power so it's an issue of the mouse not detecting movement in the lower power mode). Other than these two issues, I've not had any further tracking problems.
The m310 is an excellent value. Compared to the Logitech equivalent, the optical notebook mouse, which I also own, the m310 is lighter, more compact, and cheaper by $10. The only Microsoft mouse that is close to the m310 is corded, larger, heavier, and sells for the same price.
In summary, the m310 is your best bet if you want a smaller sized mouse. It's a great product at an excellent price.
At time time I'm writing this, Amazon does not show a picture for the mouse. The mouse is black with silver accents. See the BenQ website for accurate photos.
Rating: Summary: Flawless!! Review: great portable mouse. i havent seen any flaws from this mouse yet. its responsive, looks very cute, is durable, and has a killer design. the usb reciever tucks in seamlessly into the mouse itself. installation was literally plug-and-play: 5 seconds. the buttons and scrollwheel feel very good. the manual poweroff (push all 3 buttons simultaneously) works well and will surely save battery life. ejecting the usb receiver automatically turns the mouse on while plugging it back in automatically turns the mouse off - clever. the mouse is also coated in a rubbery type of plastic coating: the same used on some cellphones. it feels very nice and grippy. the size of the mouse is quite small, but thats what makes it portable. if you want a bigger mouse, you would get a full-size desktop one. what you sacrifice in comfort for this one, is what you gain in convenience. perfect!
Rating: Summary: Good, solid wireless mouse Review: Here is a good solid, no frills wireless mouse. Perfect for laptop users or home users with little desk space. Clever design allows for storage of the RF transmitter inside the mouse. Nice black rubberized surface looks sharp next to an Mac iBook. Crisp button action and nice "clicky" scroll wheel. The only downside is that it ships with no drivers, so you are stuck with your system's default actions for left click, right click and scroll wheel.
Rating: Summary: Surprisingly compact, useful. Max bang for buck. Review: I am very impressed with the BenQ M310. I previously used the Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0, which was full sized, has a wired-dongle as large as the mouse itself and annoying for travel with a notebook. Switching to the BENQ M310 provides many benefits:
- Extremely compact for portability
- Efficient size and functionality
- Very responsive and accurate
- Clever design
- Standard button and scroll functions (no left/right scroll)
- Auto off
I have a large hand, so it took a bit of time to get used to the smaller base and not being able to rest my hand on the unit. But I've gotten used to it with regular use. I highly recommend it and would give as a gift.
Rating: Summary: The Best Wireless Mouse Review: I just recieved this item. I wish I have gotten it earlier than getting stuck with clumsy wire. Besides its many features, the one thing I like about this cute little mice is its non-skid smooth surface making holding it in your palm more confortable than most regular plastic mouse. Plus it just a really darn good looking mice!!! I hope they can make a regular size one for home use.
Rating: Summary: Good Design and Performance Review: I ordered this mouse with great hesitancy as I had not tried any BenQ products. I read some good reviews on their DVD drives so thought I will give the mouse a try and ordered it. I got it for around $25 including shipping. The mouse is compact and sturdy it has a neat built in storage for the USB adapter and comes in a nice silk pouch. I use the mouse on my couch and have no problem with the response and tracking. I am using Windows XP and had no problem at all the moment you insert the USB adapter XP recognizes it and in a min or two you are ready to use it. The Power save mode is good feature. The mouse goes into power save mode in 30 secs and also has a manual power save mode the manual says to click the left, right and scroll keys together to switch off the mouse. Overall a great mouse with neat features.
Rating: Summary: Great gadget and easy to use Review: I'm using one to navigate to this item page. It is ultra-precise (my buddy handed this Benq mouse to me to use while he left the office for a few hours) - quite a bit better then my Microsoft optical. I thought it would be too small (I'm 6'3") for my hand, but on using it - I'm ready to buy one.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful.. wonderful... Review: Took it to work on first day. My co-workers turned around and ordered their own at the spot. If you are a road warrior and travel with your laptop, this item is a must. Comes with a smooth(rather fancy) looking pouch and it tucks away into a corner of your laptop bag.
Pro:
1. If idle, turns off after 5 minutes; saves battery life.
2. The picture does not show it, but the wheel comes on with red light, very cool looking.
3. The light goes off and turns off the mouse,, when you insert the USB-fob. This helps to remember and not leave the USB-fob behind.
Con:
1. Rather small. If you have a big hand, think twice about it.
