Summary: keyboard mouse not work with Tungsten E, ZIRE
Review: I am disappointed with my TARGUS Universal Wireless Keyboard. Targus cursor control on keyboard takes the form of a mouse like pad. Good idea except, mouse pad does not work with Tungsten E and from what I understand with ZIRE. You have to always take yours hands off keyboard and pick up stylus. You will only find out about this out not in Manual, not on website but hidden in install readme.file which says "On PALM Tungsten and ZIRE PDA's, the mouse pointer feature is not supported". In fact their website is misleading because says compatible with Palm. It is very frustrating having to always take your hand off keyboard to control cursor. Manual is poor still trying to find info about built in function keys along right side. Downloaded latest Driver, still not work. Guess TARGUS does not want business of Tungsten and ZIRE owners, very strange with all other PDAs supported they choose to not provide such a important feature. Do not recommend for Tungsten or ZIRE PDA

Summary: Works great with my Dell Axim Pocket PC!!
Review: I bought this keyboard for use with my Dell Axim x5 pocket pc and I am very pleased so far! I tried a similar product from Belkin and it did not work at all! Within 2 minutes of opening the box, this keyboard was set up and ready to go. In fact, I am typing this review on it now!
The only drawback is that some of the keys are smaller than they would be on a standard keyboard, but if this was not the case, it wouldn't be nearly as portable. I think I will get used to this anyway.
Overall, this is a cheap and convenient solution for anyway who wants to be able to type anything of any length on the road and gets tired of using the graffiti system.

Summary: Confused & Dissapointed
Review: I brought the Targus with good faith and told it would definitely, without a doubt work with my Toshiba Pocet PC e355. When trying to install would not work, so contacted store I brought it from and found I needed to upgrade the software, and told it was definitely compatable. Looking on the Targus site, the PDA was listed as compatible. I upgraded the software as suggested... Last time I went onto the Targus site...it is still compatable...it still has not installed properly on the PDA and continues to display an error with the beaming function.

Summary: Targus Universal Wireless Keyboard - A Great Buy
Review: I can only speak for the Pocket PC, but I find very litte wrong with it, and can positively say it is the best IR keyboard out there.
First of all, yes, it does not have cursor keys. But it has something better, a mouse button. This lets you click around the screen without need to use the stylus at all. If you're like me and use the cursor keys to go back and correct mistakes, it still does this, you just hold the FN key and use the mouse which makes it act EXACTLY like cursor keys.

There is no "elf" effect. Unlike the wireless keyboards that use mirrors, and go very slow and drop letters, the Targus keyboard does nothing of the sort. It's just like a desktop keyboard, in that everything appears as soon as your type it and there are certainly no dropped letters.

There is one thing I would have liked, which would be the "Home" and "End" keys which I use quite frequently. It does have a key combination (Ctrl+Mouse Arrows, I believe) which lets your just from word to word, which does it almost as quickly. That is really the only thing that could be improved.

This is definately the best keyboard out there, and the one I will be using for probably any Pocket PC I buy. Since my Toshiba e310 doesn't have a "plug-in" keyboard for it, IR was my only option. After being absolutely disgusted by the iConcepts IR Keyboard, this one is very welcome. No need to line it up, a constant connection, ability to use it in your lap and in a car, along with many other things. I would recommend this keyboard to anyone who is looking to buy one.

Summary: I would give it 5 stars if it was easier to dock!
Review: I had my handspring visor deluxe for several months before I purchased the keyboard. I had a very rough time taking notes in graffiti or switching to the on-screen keyboard.
The Targus Stowaway keyboard folds and expands very nicely. It folds down to the same size as my visor and fits very easily into a purse. I have had a difficult time docking my visor into it. I'm afraid of breaking the connectors. This is the main reason that I did not give this product a five star rating.
It is a comfortable size for such a portable keyboard and very easy to use. It does require a flat and solid surface to work with. I like the location of the wells, designed to hold my stylus. You still need a stylus for some functions.
Before I got the keyboard, I was going through batteries every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on how many times I hotsync or used the backlight. If I use the keyboard, I drain the batteries at a very rapid rate. This is worth having if you are a student and must take notes very rapidly.

Summary: Practical as well as Stylish
Review: I have an old Handspring Visor - the 2MB RAM variety. Buying this keyboard ...has breathed new life into this older hand held. I'm using it to write down short story and novel ideas as well as rough drafts - not exactly light weight typing tasks. The keyboard performs flawlessly and has a great tactile feel. Once I had to do a hard reset of the Visor while holding down the delete key to remove a line of text, but I attribute that to my setting the keyboard repeat rate too high.

What's great is even without the LapTopHack software, there are a lot of operations you can perform without using the stylus. You can launch palm applications, execute OK, New and Cancel commands among others with the provided function keys. Certain applications are designed to take better advantage of these functions, so if you by one, look for software that's designed to work with this keyboard. WordSmith, for example, is fantastic.

I'm pretty utilitarian when it comes to gadgets. Style is at the absolute bottom of my priority list. Still, I have to say this is one very slick, very stylish piece of hardware.

I can't say enough good things about this keyboard. It's taken my Visor from being buried under a pile of paper under my desk to significant daily use. Thanks Targus and Think Outside!

Summary: What were they thinking?
Review: I have tendonitis, but I can type on a good-quality keyboard that has 19mm key spacing (also called key pitch) without pain for hours. The original Targus Stowaway folding keyboard was such a thing. FYI, 19mm is also the spacing of regular desktop and laptop keyboards. Personally I *cannot* deal with an 18mm spacing keyboard -- the tiny 1mm difference really feels different and causes pain. So when I learned that the Targus universal keyboard was "full-size", I assumed that they meant 19mm since that is commonly defined as full-size. ALAS NO, Targus lied: their universal keyboard is an 18mm key-spacing keyboard and consequently a problem. I do not know why Targus has decided to ruin their formerly excellent folding keyboard in this new version. Sometimes companies just do very stupid things. They don't bother to ask customers, or they ask the ones who don't care about the product details anyway. It's sad to see this failure occur but it has, Targus has screwed up.
