Summary: Works wonderfully
Review: I bought this to upgrade my Dell Inspiron 4100. In tandem with an old 64MB chip I have in my machine, I now have 320MB. The chip works perfectly and installation was painless. My Windows XP installation is now noticeably faster--everything from start-up to coming out of standby to switching applications, everything is faster.

Do make sure that your notebook takes PC133 chips. There are people who claim that you can install PC133 chips in PC100 notebooks, and vice-versa. However, when I tried to put PC100 chips in my notebook, they did not work. Make sure you are getting the right speed.

But if you get the right speed, they work great. At this low price they're a steal, especially because you don't have to wait around on mail-in rebates as you would if you bought them in a local big-box store.

Summary: This is great
Review: I purchased this item because my computer was so slow. After I installed this, it works great. I have an IBM X-22, and now it's much faster and much more reliable. It was very easy to install, and worked right away.

If you are a person who can't touch technology without breaking it, you still can buy this. This memory is very easy to install, with very clear drawing of how to install it. All you need is about 10 minutes, and a screwdriver.

I never tried the tech service, but I assume that it's great as the product. This is a must buy for people who have slow laptop, and wish to spend some money to upgrade it.

I just have one con with this product.
The packaging was so great, it took me a great deal of time to open it.

Summary: Greatness
Review: I used the PNY 256MB PC133 SODIMM in my old IBM ThinkPad i1400 series laptop which said only took PC66 memory, but it was obviously backwards compatable and so now my laptop has 512MB in it. The PNY memory was easy to install and works great.

Summary: Incomplete Description
Review: It doesn't say so in the item description, but even if your laptop accepts pc133 RAM, this module will not work with processors slower than 1Ghz. You have to get their pc100 RAM if you have such a processor. Be sure to check www.pny.com/configurator/ to make sure this module will work. I learned the hard way.

Summary: Does not work in Dell Inspiron 4000
Review: It's a 256MB laptop memory chip. Same as any other. But, it just so happens to be the absolute best deal on the market right now. And contrary to what some reviews may claim, this is a backwards compatible chip - my PC-100 based laptop is perfectly happy with it. Looking for more memory for your PC-100 or -133 computer? This is the chip to buy.

Summary: Not compatible with Dell Inspiron 3800
Review: The amazon.com people actually called PNY for me and asked whether this unit was compatible with PC100 computers. They insisted it was. When I installed it, my computer went through a series of scary crashes. The Dell tech support person I talked to was sure that it was a compatibility problem. I have no issue with PNY, in general, but the low rating is because it was not compatible.

Summary: High density module, may not work on laptop with PC100 bus.
Review: This is high density SoDIMM modeul and it's the LOWEST price I've seen without going through rebate and coupon hassels.
However, it's not compatible with my Dell CPx PIII 550. My laptop refuesed to boot. Well, bus speed was not the problem. I was told by a tech that my laptop cannot take the high density SoDimm (total 8-chip, 4 on each side; only the 16-chip, 8 on each side would work on mine) :(
Ckeck with your laptop maker to make sure the your laptop can take the high density SoDimm. Hope this will save you some trouble.

Summary: Wrong Product Discription
Review: This memory module is not PC - 100, but is PC - 133.
Make sure that your notebook support PC - 133 memory module.
