Summary: lamborghini exterior with a volkswagon interior
Review: this little voice recorder has all the nice features you want it to have. the 8 mb memory stick it comes with can record up to one hour and maybe 10 minutes on the highest quality mode and if you get the 128 mb memory stick you could record up to 17 hours on the highest quality mode. also the size is small.

but all of this recording time and size is absolutely worthless if it can't record! its like having a lamborghini exterior but with a volkswagon interior. the sound of the device is pathetic... well at least compared to the much cheaper ICD-ST10. this machine is the type that if you turn up the volume full blast you will hear lots of hissing sounds and the vibrations from the sound wave will make the machine buzz. i've had the ICD-ST10 for quite a while and getting the ICD-MS515 is a DOWNGRADE... at least in terms of sound.

ask yourself this: would you rather have mud wrapped up in a nice little package? ... or a diamond wrapped in mud?!

listen to me now and belive me later!

if you go to school like me your better off getting two ICD-ST10s (for the recording time capacity) instead of the ICD-MS515.

DON'T SAY YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN WARNED!

Summary: Great Digital Recorder
Review: This recorder is so small and compact its amazing! I wasn't sure which Sony reorder to purchase at first after looking at a few. I went with this one and I am glad I did! I am using it mainly for college courses and recording the professor. Whether I get a seat right up front or way back in the room (and a very good size room that is!) I still get excellent quality. I purchased a larger memory stick to support a weeks worth of classes, just in case I don't have the chance to upload them on the computer. The buttons take a bit to get use to, however once you know them its quite easy. I love how compact the unit is, and it comes with its own case which allows you access to all the features. I love the unit overall for the quality, size, and performance.

I haven't used the software yet so I can't comment much there. I know with voice related software it takes some time to train it your voice before it learns it. Its worth the while to do specially if you will find it useful.

Summary: Really awesome Recorder!!!
Review: This recorder is the perfect ideal for students. It goes without saying that the sound quality of this product is fantastic. Even if I sit at the far back side of the large classroom, I hear clear sounds of the professor.
There lots of options who can select within the recorder as well. This recorder is also superlight and the case is perfect to camouflage that you are recording. A lot of my friends thought it was a cellphone until I tell them that it is recorder. If you use the leather case and stick it on your belt or the top of the trouser, most people will think it is a cellphone and you can avoid some conflict with people who hate being recorded.

Additionally, The extra memory stick (128MB) has capacity of 17 hours of recording in SP mode. Yes, again SP mode not LP mode!!! It only costs 37 dollars in amazon.com and I like its big capacity.

The only drawback I find is that it is a little bit pricey. If this recorder costs between $120~160, it would have won my 5 stars.
