Rating: Summary: My daughter adores this! Review: I ordered this for my daughter for Christmas, and she absolutely loved it. Fantastic sound, very easy to use. I am online this evening buying another, because it was in her backpack with was stolen last week. Didn't think twice about reordering - this one is fantastic!
Rating: Summary: Exceptional sound rules Review: If sound quality is of prime interest to you, jump on this player. The integrity of this system can actually allow you to hear hidden musical nuances in many recordings. Along with solid equalization tools, the software features the ability to tweak each and every song before transfer provided you are willing to invest the time and effort. Play, tweak, tweak some more, then transfer. Also much to praise in addition to its exceptional fidelity. AA battery gets you 20-30 hours of play. No need to concern yourself with recharging while afield, or worse if/when your non-replacable Li-ion will no longer get up and go. Very compact, flyweight. Firmware upgradable. Two different cases. Forced to admit easy on the eyes as well. Wish list would include line-in, however the specs for the new iaudio4 (not yet released) show this. Harshest criticism I have is for the earbuds. Marginally acceptable sound, and near impossible to use comfortably. Initially I purchased a 256mb, then swapped for a 512mb. You will want to load this gem to the max, it is a great companion to take with you almost anywhere, easily concealable (sp) and very light. Yes, expensive. The price of the 512 will land you in 20-30gb player territory. But like every other toy, one of anything just doesn't cover all the bases ( I also own the iriver ihp 120 which boasts an embarrassment of features plus you can cram your kitchen sink along with your neighbors into it, but sonically, iaudio is the real deal). As an aside, iaudio is on the verge of releasing a mega-gb hard drive player, the m3, if you are still on the fence you might want to wait and give this a look. Combining max storage, all the trimmings of the big boys, and acoustical splendor, the m3 could be THE player...
Rating: Summary: Disappointment Reigns Review: I thought this was going to be a neat product. I had high hopes. However, disappointment reigns supreme. I bought and received the product, installed the software, transferred some files and listened. Good sound, easy to use, acceptable controls, all seemed fine. After a few days something changed. Files no longer transferred and the JetAudio software could not "see" the player's flash memory to reformat it despite recognizing that it was connected and indicating that it was working correctly. Reinstalling the software did nothing to help. I will admit that my computer software changes constantly. I use my computer extensively. I update the operating system and virus protection programs regularly as well as the other software components on the system. The problem could be software or hardware, there is no way to tell. The diagnostics from the JetShell software offer no detail. So I tried for help from the manufacturer. I tried logging onto iAudio's web site to get help but without success. I tried to call the iAudio support line. A telephone operator took my name and number and said I'd get a call back. I did but it was two days later while I was on a flight to Phoenix. I've written to the tech support address in the hope that someone will answer my plea for help. No response yet. This is my first experience with this technology but I have the following observations. First, transferring files should not be difficult nor should it require proprietary software. Second, memory is memory. These units should accept any standard memory stick or card. This one does not. Third, the manufacturer should provide reliable, easily accessible support. Unfortunately, none of these things seems to be true. At least not yet. I recommend caution here. This product appears to be somewhat unstable and Cowon, the manufacturer, has not impressed me with their support.
Rating: Summary: Great MP3 Player Review: I shopped for about 6 months for an MP3 player and had almost decided not to buy one because of the multiple problems and poor reviews characterizing most of the players on the market today. But then I happened to discover IAudio. I bought the 256 last month and it is absolutely, positively wonderful. It is incredibly small and lightweight, making it ideal as an exercise companion. The fact that it comes with a case with a belt attachment and ANOTHER case with an armband is a real plus - not all players do. The software, though proprietary, is intuitive and bug free. I was concerned that I could not use MusicMatch, which I really love - not to worry. I simply create playlists in MusicMatch and export them to the IAudio player. No problem. The controls on the player itself, while taking a little time (an afternoon) to master are accessible and easy to use. And best of all is the sound - I've been using cassette players for years to exercise with and I'm now hearing music on my tracks that I've never heard before! In other words, the sound is superb. If you're in the market for a solid player with exceptional sound that's easy to use, look no farther. You've found it with IAudio.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Product Review: Ive had my iAudio for 2 or 3 weeks now, and am still just as impressed as my initial impression. First thing you notice about this product is its compact size. Dont let the compact size confuse you though, it sounds great. I was expecting another player that give that dull, minimal bass sound. THis is not what I got. I turned the product on for the first time, played with the equalizers, and WOW! Its amazing how great this thing sounds. I listen to a lot of techno style music, and this is great for the heavy bass tracks. WHen I initially got my Mp3 player, I had a hell of a time getting the battery flap open. It simply would not budge. After some searching, I found to use a nice long fingernail and get in the joint of the flap, it opened easily. Ever since then, the battery flap has not been a problem at all. I cant compare this to any other Mp3 players, as I have never tried any others, but I can say that the CW300 rocks. Check around the internet for yourself. Every single review you find will comment on the superb sound of this player. As for the guy who gave it 1 star for it not being able to support WMA files, do your research and you wouldnt have to worry about this. And yes, you could find plenty of places that say it does not support wma files. Do not rate products because of your lack of research.
Rating: Summary: Almost Worthless Player Review: Any features this player may or may not have are entirely irrelevant for users who wish to purchase music tracks online and download them onto their portable device. The iAudio does not support or recognize secure WMA files, and this fact is not mentioned anywhere in its literature. Furthermore, the Website for the player fails to mention this (in fact, the only poorly written mention of the problem states that some WMA files will not be transferrable to the mp3 format because of some sort of video file problem, which is utter garbage). The company owning iAudio is Korean, and the entire site is written in poorly translated English, making troubleshooting a mindbending task. Further attempts to solve the problem led to a tech support call, which was picked up by an answering service. I left a message, but never heard back from tech support (despite claims of tech support available 24/7). In the end, this device is worthless unless you want to rip CDs and copy them onto your device, or if you already have unsecure audio files. Any music that you purchase online at this point will be sold in secure WMA format, and will not be playable on this device. DON'T BUY IT!
Rating: Summary: Instant return Review: Within the first 5 minutes of opening the box (and installing the software) the player squeaked loudly in my ears and turned itself off. It did this several times. I replaced the battery, checked all the settings... and was rewarded with having the player turn off the sound (but leaving the power on) half the time, and just turning itself off the other half. And yes, I did check the auto-off function. Maybe I got a lemon, but I've lost faith in this product. Instant return.
Rating: Summary: iaudio cw300 256MB with sennheisier headphones Review: This is an excellent product. Very easy to use after opening the box. The sound quality is amazing for this little mp3 player(the size of a credit card). The bass is incredible and deep and the highs are sharp and clear. Incredible range! The only thing that I didn't like was the earphones that came with this product. They easily fall out of your ear with a simple turn of the head. This is very minor though, although the fm reception is astonishingly clear with no distortion at all. I would pick up a pair of headphones at a local music store or somewhere like Target. Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone that is an audiophile like myself. I would also recommend picking it up at newegg.com for $193, the cheapest place around. Everything comes with the mp3 player like the cdrom, headphones, belt clip, arm band and so forth. Buy it now!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: My favorite purchase.. the best around Review: I absolutely love my iAUDIO. I have had it for over 8 months and have been meaning to write this review to tell everyone how great it is. I bought it based on the similar glowing reviews I read- people are telling the truth about this one! Pros Great sound, very compact, great amount of memory for price- the iPODs are nice, but who really needs 30GB?? And this is smaller than a pack of gum compared to the iPOD which is the size of a wallet Fast transfers, easy software to use (overall barely used the instructions for anything) FM radio was a favorite addition for long walks Battery life is 8-9 hours for a new AAA battery, 6-7 for a regular rechargeable (bonus for heavy use.. don't need a special battery!) Durable- I've dropped it several times and it has held up, I carry it loose in a backpack with no issues to date, use 20-30hours per week at work with no problem. the carrying case is a big help (it clips to belt and helps pad from bumps) lots of options- random mode, auto-shutoff, repeat, organize songs into 4 folders Cons headphones weren't the best (easily fixed) changing the battery requires removing the headphones and carrying case basically, my verdict is that this is the coolest toy around
Rating: Summary: Not for FM listeners in my aea Review: Great sound from MP3's. Nice look. Nice size. Pricey. BUt, I cant hear FM stations i like in my city. No reception except two or three of the most powerul stations. Just very poor in this regard. So if you need a good FM radio reception, think twice before buying this unit.
