Summary: I got it! But it don't work!
Review: After using Microsoft's free download utility program (look for mtinst.exe) I found that this memory failed 14 out of 16 of the standard memory tests -- it's got to go back!

Summary: I wouldn't recommend PNY
Review: I was considering purchasing this RAM but I wanted to first confirm it would work with my machine. I contacted amazon.com for more information and they were able to provide me with a retail part number and PNY's 800 number. (I'm always impressed by amazon.com's customer service - they're both helpful and friendly, that seems rather uncommon these days! I usually seem to get 'somewhat friendly and ditzy', or 'rude and unhelpful' most places, but I digress...)So I decided to contact PNY to see what they'd say. The results from the PNY website were inconclusive. Amazon.com had provided me with the retail part number of this RAM via email, but I couldn't successfully track it down via PNY's site. (PNY doesn't seem to have a search engine, and their memory configurator only provided a retail number for the 128MB stick of RAM for my machine). Forget about trying to get in touch with PNY. I tried calling their 800 number (which also provides tech support I might add), and I got stuck in automation hell. I also contacted them via email and received a canned response (it was long-winded and completely unhelpful). I replied and am waiting to hear back from them. Frankly this doesn't bode well. I wouldn't recommend purchasing this RAM as I'm afraid that if there's a problem, you'd be stuck with it.

Review: Memory module was defective. Either very poor quality control or Amazon.com just happens to have a bad batch that it's selling.

Review: With my Gateway Solo 5300 was just matter of inserting the memory and that's it. Great compatibility and performance.
