Summary: Good Pricing But Not the Best
Review: Amazon has a great price on this SanDisk card (the lowest I have seen). In fact I almost bought it when I noticed that the Viking 32 MB 3.3 Volt SmartMedia Card is about 20% less. I decided to order them both and then just return the one I didn't want--sorry Amazon but I just couldn't make up my mind.

I discovered that the cards are identical (except for the little SanDisk/Viking label). Needless to say, even though the card worked wonderfully, I returned the SanDisk card and kept the Viking.

Summary: Consider a 64MB or 128MB SmartMedia Instead
Review: Don't buy this card until you have weighed the options of purchasing a 64MB and 128MB SmartMedia card first.

Here are the reasons to purchase a larger card:

1. Price. A larger card is less expensive per megabyte. For example, the Viking 128MB card is currently ... cheaper than buying 4 of these SanDisk cards. The 64MB card is about ... cheaper.

2. Future proof. In the technology sector it is always better to purchase for tomorrow. You can be rest assured that some new fangled device or service will need you to have a larger storage capacity. Simply look at the way digital cameras are going. Each release the Megapixel rate increases and thus so does each images file size.

3. Convenience. You will not want to be carrying around 2-4 smaller cards when you could be just carrying around one (which you aren't really carrying around because it is in your device).

Just take a look at the options, weigh the advantages and disadvantages, then make your decision.

Review: Here is general guidline of about how many pictures a smart media card can hold. This list was made up using a 2.1 mega pixel camera at 1600x1200 resolution. (The Fuji Finepix 2300). So if you have a higher mega pixel camera the amount of pictures it can hold will decrease and you will be able to hold a few more pictures with a lower mega pixel model. But these numbers will give you a basic idea so you will know what capacity of smart media card is for you. (1600x1200 resolution) Example: Listed is the card capacity with the amount of photos it can hold in the camera's Fine (best mode), Normal, and Basic photo modes. (Fine,Normal,Basic)

8 MB (9,19,39) 16 MB (19,39,75) 32 MB (40,82,155) 64 MB (82,170,330) 128 MB (168,350,700)

*Most camera's normal mode takes pictures of good enough quality for most photos you will take, unless the camera is under 1.3 mega pixels.

*Many cameras come with a 8MB memory card. But that usually isn't enough memory for most people, here is what I would suggest purchasing:

My suggestions:

1-1.9 mega pixel camera - 8MB or 16 MB

2-2.9 mega pixel camera - 32 MB

3 mega pixels and up - 64 MB

Summary: Cool, Small, and Light
Review: I got this card free with my nomad MP3 player. I'm suprized that I even got it free. The quality of this small memory card is great! I thought that my MP3 player would be huge (in size) because of the space needed for the memory card, but the MP3 player only has like one fourth of it's space dedicated to the memory card and the MP3 player is about the size of a disposable camera. 32 MB is good with me figuring I have 32 on bord to. I might buy a couple more so that I have alot of memory for my music. I have a carrying case for my memory cards and it is the same size as my MP3 player and it holds 6 memory cards!!!!! I love the size, the price on amazon.com because it is the lowest price I've seen, the weight, and the quality. I highly recommend this to everyone that needs alot of memory and dosen't like the hassle of the over priced, cheep (in quality), heavy, space taking memory cards from those other companys.

Summary: rio500 compatibility
Review: I have had serious problems with the Sandisk 32MB compatibility with my Rio500. I cannot format the memory. I see other people have been successful, but not even Rio can figure out what is wrong with my player, memory, or computer (whichever is causing my computer and Rio to lock up). Any suggestions, please e-mail me at wlugo@ssc.wisc.edu

Summary: Great card at an even greater price!
Review: I recently bought the Diamond Rio PMP 300 and this card works just as well as any other card out there. This card has an advantage ovre the other cards: the price. This card is an awesome buy, work just as well as an expensive card without the price.

Summary: I can take over 150 HQ shots with my Olympus D-460 Camera
Review: I'm very pleased with this card. It is real simple to install. Just turn of the camera and pull out the old card and pop the 32 mb card in. The price is much cheaper than the Olympus 32 mb card. The only difference is that you can't take panoramic shots. Save your 8 mb card for that. The nice thing about the added memory for the camera is now I can take it on vacation and snap as many pictures as I want without worrying about downloading them to a PC. My next purchase will be a USB card reader because the serial connection on my digital camera is painfully slow.

Summary: What I was expecting
Review: It is a "normal" smartmedia card. I brought it with my Olympus D490 Zoom camera, because the camera's card is only 8MB. The card is simple, and, buying it (until 31 Dec 2000) you win 12 MP3 songs from SanDisk (various artists. It's a must have for digital cameras. With this card I can shoot more them a 100 pictures in SQ-HIGH quality of my camera, I think it's suficient!
