Review: How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about. Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.
The Memorex 128MB SmartMedia Memory Card with Storage Case, like most 128MB cards, will store on average 142 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 106 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 64 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 51 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 40 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

Summary: It works, theoretically...
Review: I bought one of these off E-Bay for $25.00. I first tried it out in my reader, and it worked fine...I could write and read stuff off it easily. But in my camera, which is what I needed it for, it doesn't work at all. When I tried to format it, I just got a 'card error' displayed. I searched the net for possible fixes, perhaps some way to format it through my computer, and found nothing I'd feel secure about...In the future I'll pay more attention to brand, that's for sure. Summary: try a different brand
Review: i've had nothing but trouble with my memorex 128mb card. i'm using it with a korg pxr4 digital recorder, and it periodically stops being recognized by the recorder or my card reader, and i've lost a lot of data and time. i've had no problems with other cards. just this one. the little plastic case is nice, though.

Summary: Great Product, Bad Manufacturer Service
Review: Okay, so here's the lowdown on this thing. It works well with just about any device that requires these cards, no problems there. Can take all 128MB and not break a sweat. Originally, there was a rebate offered with this product. I know two other people who bought this exact same product, sent it in, and didn't get jack for it. Don't buy if you think you're going to get some of that money back. Anyways, overall a great product. Enjoy it!

Summary: It's the biggest smartmedia card you'll find
Review: With my 4 mega-pixel camera, in RAW mode, a 128 megabyte SmartMedia card would hold about 11 images. In the various other resolutions, I can hold anywhere from 60 up to several hundred photos. However, if I am shooting in the uncompressed mode, or a higher resolution mode that I would need for enlargements, I need to have several memory cards with me because so few pictures can be held on each card.
The speed of the recording to the card is fair. In my new digital camera, the lag time is significantly less than it had been in the older camera (probably due as much to the new camera as the to the memory card), even though the file sizes were larger. My best guess on saving speed would be about 5 seconds for a RAW image and 2 to 3 seconds in higher resolutions. Low resolutions are almost instantaneous. Downloads from the card to a computer are quick and snappy.
The cards is quite rugged and easy to transport. I have been working with them for over four years in various incarnations. I have never had a single one break or stop functioning on me. The Memorex SmartMedia card has already bounced around my backpack several times in some rainy and wet hikes, and sat in my car in the sun a few times and has come out no worse for the wear.
Because SmartMedia is one of the more limited flash memory devices on the market, it stands to reason that if you have devices that use it, you should be picking up as many of the 128-megabyte cards as you can as the prices continue to come down.
Memorex, with its 128-megabyte SmartMedia card, has made a reasonably priced and sturdy card that is well worth what you pay for it. And especially now when memory prices so low and chips hopping around like candy, there's no good excuse for picking up several extra cards for your SmartMedia devices.
