Summary: warning-memory-warning
Review: I recently purchased the audiovox mp1000 because of the small size and ease of operation. I also bought additional memory with a 32mb sandisk mmc card which didn't work, so I sent it back and recieved another one which also didn't work. Discussing this with audiovox, they have had alot trouble with sandisk mmc (approx... amazon) but not with the audiovox memory card (also made by sandisk;...). a suspicious person might wonder why this would be, as they look identical. A memory disk from audiovox is coming but I thought this may be important information for someone interested in the same scenario.

Summary: Want to expand your PDA? This should do the trick...
Review: It was inevitable...just like home PC's when they started to become so popular, we figured that 64MB was more than we could POSSIBLY need...but little did we know just how convenient technology would make the storage of memory...and now it's not unusual to find computers that can hold TERA-Bytes of memory, and PDA users are discovering that the standard 8MB's of memory just isn't enough anymore.

I cannot tell you how happy I am that I chose to spend a little more to get a Palm device that could upgrade with the expansion slot. At first I didn't think I was EVER going to fill up all
7.7MB's of available memory my Palm m125 came standard with... but I took the gamble on the off chance that one day in the distant future I just MIGHT reach the end to the memory on my trusted, and well-used PDA. Well, I reached the end...rather quickly as a matter of fact. So now we have several choices to make to fix the situation...you can choose from quite a few different expansion cards available on the market today, but in my opinion, going with the SanDisk 32MB Multi Media Card (MMC) is THE way to go. Sure, you can buy the 16MB card distributed by the Palm Company...but the SanDisk cards are MUCH cheaper... make that WAY big time less expensive. For example, I got a SanDisk 32MB card for LESS than what the Palm 16MB card costs.
Now I originally wanted the smaller 16MB card, but I figured since I went through the original memory much faster than I had anticipated, why not get an ADDITIONAL 16MB's for LESS money?

A couple of important things to think about when making this purchase: be FOREWARNED...it will take your Palm a few extra seconds to access programs on your expansion card than it would if the program was directly in the existing internal memory... but in all honesty, this is NOT the HUGE inconvenience that some reviewers would have you believe -- unless of course waiting an extra 1.5 seconds IS a big deal to you. One more thing, and what ultimately made me give this 4 stars instead of 5, is that I planned on moving practically everything on my Palm that I don't use multiple times a day over to my card...but all of the copyright protected programs will NOT allow you to copy over to the expansion card. Programs like your Address files, Date Book, Memo Pad, my QuickWord, the To Do List...which means that you can only free up just SO MUCH space on your Palm. I understand copyright situations and how many people take advantage of this, so ultimately I am not upset about it, but I must admit it frustrated me for a day or so. Other than that, this was money well spent for a great product that has given me the chance to do so much more with my PDA than I expected it to when I first bought it. How many products do you pay good money for end up doing a LOT more for you than you expected? Not many that I'm aware of. All in all, a VERY worthwhile expense -- especially if you plan on getting the most out of your hand held.

Summary: a little too much, don't you think?
Review: It's just disappointing to see that it costs that much for ONE card. I should've known that before I bought my Compaq Audio Player. I guess I'll just have to store my songs in WMA or AAC formats. So... is the price going down anytime soon? ;)

Summary: HELP for all SanDISKMemory users
Review: Many users of the sandisk memory are having problems because they are not formating the memory after it is installed. For example if you are using the MP3 Audiovox player MP1000 you should install the downloader software that came with the player, then install the memory card and right click on the memory card space to format the memory. Then it will work!

Summary: This product is a scam!
Review: Stay with SanDisk. I found out the hard way that other manufacturers of multimedia cards are NOT always compatable. Vendors such as Viking purchase their cards from several different manufacturers and in their own words "can't guarantee that the card they send you is exactly the same as SanDisk". The good news is Amazon has a great return policy!
