Summary: 64mb stick
Review: excellent size for a 4 meg pixel dig camera... It' annoying to scan thru a 128meg stick. I guess I don't have the patience!

Summary: Worth the price, but beware actual storage space
Review: I have a 64MB Sony Memory Stick and a 64MB Lexar Media Memory Stick. Operationally, there's no difference so I greatly appreciate having a second source for Memory Sticks.

However, my Sony camera states an empty Sony stick will hold 112 photos and the empty Lexar stick will hold 104 photos (at the same resolution). That's a ~7% less storage.

I also notice that as I take pictures, sometimes the number of available photo slots increases. I presume now that as compression is applied to saved photos the camera must recompute how many photos will fit on the stick. As they say, your mileage may vary.

Summary: Save money, same quality
Review: I purchased the memory stick after pricing the Sony brand. I got my money's worth. If you want to save money for the same quality as the Sony brand...get this Memory stick!

Summary: Never a problem
Review: I use this stick all the time in my Sony Clie, and have never had a problem.

Summary: Works fine
Review: Lexar Media stick works just fine. I'm just glad Lexar makes these so I don't have to pay the "Sony tax" for their proprietary format!

A note regarding this issue that the same size Lexar stick held less photos than's Sony's...I don't have a Sony digital camera--my Finepix uses SmartMedia. But I have noticed that taking photos at the same resolution doesn't necessarily mean they are all the same file size! For instance, I just opened a photo folder and the "high" was 804K and the "low" was 752K, with others falling somewhere in-between. A highly complex photo with lots of colors and contrasts is going to be larger than say, a picture that is half "blue sky." This could very well explain why there were fewer photos on the Lexar memory stick.

Summary: Get Two
Review: The Lexar Media memory stick works fine -there were no problems in using the sticks: transfering the files to my computer, deleting the files and even reformating the stick. If this is your first purchase or addition to the memory stick that came with your camera get two of these sticks (minimum 64mb each). In the event of a malfunction you minimize any damage -if that would ever happen- by just rotating the usage of the sticks.

In the packages I received there were no containers for the sticks but they still are a good deal.

Summary: 64mb stick
Review: This memory stick is the same as a Sony but at a cheaper price. There are not differences in storage capacity between the Lexar and the Sony regardless of what a previous reviewer had said. It's mainly due to differences in pictures and the complexity of the shot which influences the JPEG compression of the photo. I am extremely pleased with it and would recommend picking one up over a Sony any day.
