Rating: Summary: Good value for many features Review: I've been a consumer of Aiwa portable "walkman's" since 1981. Back then the cabinets were made of steel and the units were quite rugged but pricey. A few years ago I tried an Aiwa walkman but returned it because the volume was too weak. This walkman is loud enough with very little distortion. It has good stereo separation and sufficient bass enhancement for a pleasing sound quality. I was surprised at the sensitivity of the FM tuner. I live in a rural area and can reliably pick up about three stations clearly. This walkman tuned in about double that number quite well. The feature I most desired in this low-priced unit is the auto reverse. My only suggestion would be to add a button to change the direction of the tape. As it is now it is necessary to flip a direction switch which is a bit cumbersome in my opinion. I am satisfied with this walkman and recommend it.
