Summary: SmartDisk offer a good product
Review: Im biased towards this product because I really like SMDK (SmartDisk's ticker symbol). If you decide to buy this excellent adapter which SMDK has the exclusive on, buy a couple shares of it as well, and it will pay for itself.

The flashpash works fine in my NT machine. opens those smartmedia cards just like floppies,

Although not its primary intended use, I use it to back up a couple important files, and have them on a little smartmedia card - kind of like James Bond. It nice to have an hour of good music on a square guitar pick.

The usb smartmedia reader works faster, but the flashpath is a really cool concept, and they are more compatible- everyone has a floppy drive, right?

I wouldn't recommend [the Flashpath adapter] if you have a laptop with an external floppy- it might not work in it.

And you might want to pick up a couple of the little batteries, because heavy tranfers eventually eat the little watch batteries up.

Summary: A quick way of reading Smart cards from a floppy
Review: Instead of taking up more space in my PC with a PCI card and the hassles of installing it, I decided to opt for the Delkin FlashPath SmartDisk smart card reader. Perfect!

It's much faster than plugging my camera into a board on my PC. If I'm on the road at a relative's house and need to unload my Smart card then I just load up the software (it takes seconds to install, then a reboot) and I'm ready to go to email my pics home.

I'm glad I discovered this alternative means of getting my digital camera pics to my PC. Thanks Amazon for selling this item!

Summary: It's rather slow
Review: It is easy to use, but it's only about twice the speed of the serial interface. I also have a parallel port smartmedia card read, and that runs at 15x serial speed.

Summary: Easy, but slow!
Review: It's certainly faster than a serial port, but not as fast as I had hoped. It does have a few great benefits though. It's easy and it's portable. It does require a quick install of some software, but I just carry the floppy install in my camera bag. Just the thing for downloading images to some other computer.

Summary: Great product -- an essential digital camera accessory
Review: My FlashPath came along with my Olympus D-400 camera. To transfer digital snapshots to a computer running the FlashPath software, simply pop the SmartMedia into the FlashPath device and then pop the FlashPath device right into your floppy drive. You can access digital photos just as you would work with any other file on a floppy. It's faster than using the cable and much easier. The only downside is that you must install special software on any computer that will read the floppy. This limits ease of use on multiple computers (e.g., when you're travelling), but it's no big deal if you use the same computer most of the time. Overall, a great product, and an essential, reasonably priced accessory for digital photographers.

Summary: Easy to use
Review: This is a VERY user friendly way to transfer your digital pics to your PC. All you have to do is install the drivers, then put your SmartMedia 'into' the Flashpath Adapter and open your 'A' drive. Simple huh? Highly recommended for those who are not computer savy and don't want to waste your digital camera batteries.
