Summary: Best deal for the best way.
Review: I purchased mine after somehow losing the propriatary sony camera>usb cable. I decided that I didn't want to purchase another cable, as the terrible battery life sucks more juice from the batteries while having to have the camera on when transferring photos.
I'd have to say this is the absolute best '3rd party' product I've ever purchased- this reader [and writer] is wonderful. It seems to actually be faster than the camera itself. In XP it is automatically recognized and works perfectly. The item looks kind of [inexpensive] with the translucent plastic- but it's actually very sturdy. I have lots of faith in this little guy!

If you want a memory stick reader, this is definaly the one to put your money into. It's a great price for such a nice product.

Summary: LEXAR USB Memory Stick Reader - Outstanding !
Review: I thought this would be the usual "hassle" but not at all. If you have XP and a USB port, there are no drivers required. This is the very first device I have found that is truly "Plug and Play". I was downloading my pics from my memory stick 45 seconds after unpacking the device. Great deal.

Summary: This is a faulty product.
Review: I would not recommend this Memory Stick reader for anyone who has Windows 98, which is what I have. In order to operate with Windows 98, this reader has to have extra driver's downloaded from the Lexar website. However, none of the driver's actually work. I visited "live support" on the Lexar website several times. I also talked to a Lexar representative on the phone, but no one was able to get my card reader to work. I then called Lexar technical support and left messages on their machine twice, trying to speak to someone who could help me fix my card reader, but they never returned my calls. Amazon was GREAT! They returned my money with no hassle when I told them of my problems with the card reader.

Summary: Worth every penny and more...
Review: My system is a Windows XP Pro Pentium 4. Considering previous reviews here on this products incompatibility with Win XP I was a little worried about purchasing it. However now that I have, I can confirm that it is indeed fully Win XP (and Mac OS 9/X) compatible. Simply plug it into the USB port and it installs the XP driver automatically and in a matter of seconds its ready to download pics off a memory stick. I don't doubt the word of others who had problems using this reader with XP because they must have had an older version of the reader which did not have the XP update yet. The package also includes a CD ROM that contains the older Win 98 and Mac OS 8.6 drivers. Ease of use is outstanding and the price makes it very affordable and a must have item.

Summary: Nice size, fair price, useful device
Review: This is a good device and very useful. You dont have to install it if you have Windows Me/XP/2000, or Mac8 or better. Just connect it to the USB, insert the memory stick and save your files in your PC or Laptop.

Summary: Excellent Product
Review: We just recently bought a Sony CyberShot camera and a couple of the Sony memory sticks. We decided a reader would be handier than hooking up the camera and draining its battery. Read a review on this Lexar reader and was impressed with its price compared to Sony's reader. The documentation told me to just plug it in to USB port and go, and it was that easy. No glitches! I'd highly recommend this to anyone.
