Summary: Start up problems
Review: The reader causes my computer to hang up when started with no compact flash card in reader. If the reader is connected to the USB port with no card in the reader, my computer will not boot nor can I shut it off. The system must have the power turned off and turned back on. Then you must disconnect the reader. Once the system is turned back on it comes up in safe mode and must be then shut down again.

Once the system is booted, the reader can be plugged in and everything works ok, but this is hard to do since the USB ports are on the back of the computer, on the floor. Sandisk tech help was worthless. They blamed everything on every other vendor, yet my computer works fine with every other type of USB device with no problems. They have a problem with the PnP Bios Function.

Summary: The ultimate choice for data storage
Review: This was one of the smartest purchases I ever made! I'm able to store all kinds of things on removable memory cards. Don't be fooled by those other brands, San Disk is number one in this department. Not only is the price great, I can now easily store all of my digital photo's.

Summary: Works flawlessly, Easy to Install
Review: I originally purchased a Lexar reader and I had nothing but problems.

This reader was extremely easy to install and works flawlessly. I have DirectCD installed on my system and there are no conflicts.

I am using Windows 98SE with SanDisk driver 5.06.

Summary: You Get What You Pay For
Review: In choosing this particular CompactFlash/ USB reader, I noted that is was the cheapest. But as SanDisk has a very good reputation, I figured this would be a great choice.
I had a very difficult time getting it to work on my 2 year old, Windows 98 S.E. computer. It would crash and reboot in safe mode. I went to SanDisk web-site looking for answers and/or patches, but was not successful in resolving the problems. Finally, I called SanDisk tech support, and the seemingly very knowledgeable person that I spoke to immedaitely identified the problem as something having to do with Adaptec Easy Creator ver. 3.5c, which was factory installed on my PC. The tech person directed my to download a patch from Roxio/ Adaptec, which finally allowed me to get the reader to load right. However, I still have to unplug the reader each time before I can re-start my computer, otherwise it will crash. I have to wait until it is fully booted up before I can re-connect the reader. I had hoped that I could just leave it plugged in all of the time, but you get what you pay for.

Summary: Need a CF reader? Look no further
Review: By far the best CF reader. It's fast, and VERY easy to set up. Mine was up and going in 2 minutes. Highly recommended for anyone with a PDA or Digital Camera.

Summary: Works great
Review: So far this thing works very well. I was concerned re: some of the other reviews, esp. the crashing of EZ CD Creator, but everything works fine. I have Windows ME, and THANKS! to a previous reviewer who recommended not installing the included software. I just plugged the device in and the computer was able to extrapolate the needed software. I am using it with Kodak's Ofoto software (another I really like, esp. as it was free).

Summary: Flawless
Review: Worked flawlessly without any added drivers in a W2K SP2 machine. This is a no-brainer.

Summary: Great little device (if you use a Compact Flash Card)
Review: I use my Compact Flash card in my HP Jornada 525. The 525 does not have a USB connection, but rather a serial connection, so transferring data to and from a computer is very slow. This device speeds up that process tremendously. It's basically like having another drive connected to your computer.

Summary: This is great..........and cheap
Review: I just got this thing today along with a Viking 256Meg Compact Flash to use with my Canon G2. I installed it on my laptop and desktop at work. I then copied some photos from the camera to the laptop. Since I had some room left on the card, I loaded a couple Excel files and a few *.zips and prceeded to take the reader and card to my desktop at work where I downloaded the works. I then erased all data and copied a few files to bring home after work to my laptop. Now the card is in my camera. Beats email.

Couldn't be better for the price.
