Summary: no problems
Review: I didn't bother with the software on the CD that came with it, I went straight to the Delkin site and downloaded whatever was recent. It's worked wonderful with my Compaq Presario box running Win2K server.
Also, the reader has a max capability of 128Mb cards.

Summary: Computer can not locate DDREADER-14
Review: I gave this reader to my son as a Christmas gift and he tried it out on his father-in-law's system (which he built) and the system can not locate it. When he arrives back at his home, he will contact the mfg for software updates and install it on his system. If he gets it working, I will update this review with information on the fix. If it does not work, it is defective and we will return it for a replacement.

Summary: Great value - forget the brand names!
Review: I got this little puppy for my Macintosh after researching various USB Smartmedia readers from brand name digital camera makers (that go for $60-70) for my Olympus D-360 camera. This was half-price! It's simple to use and a fast way to get your pics into your computer. The card just comes up as a disk on your desktop and from there you can open the pictures right from the card itself or copy them to your drive in a jiffy!

Summary: Warning Dell users
Review: I just received the delkin DDREADER-14 USB for smartmedia cards. It does not work with my dell 3800 running on win 2000. As you install the drivers, you'll get a blue screen crash and a memory dump. The customer service said that they have this problem and are currently trying to fix it. They may fix it in the future but for now i will have to return it.

Summary: VERY POWERFUL AND USEFUL FOR THE PRICE !
Review: The Delkin USB Smartmedia reader and writer is very useful to transfer data from/to your computer to/form another computer. I use it this way because all is much smaller and reliable (the cards and the USB reader) compared to ZIP or 128 MB 3.5" floppy drive. NO NEAD TO CLEAN YOUR DRIVE ANY MORE AND YOU CAN TAKE BOTH THE READER AND CARDS IN YOUR POCKETS.

Summary: Delkin SmartMedia Reader
Review: This device has been a vast improvement over the Olympus download cable/software that it has replaced. I am running a PowerMac G3, system 9.1, and plugged the reader into a powered USB hub. Everything worked instantly and perfectly. The device itself is small and has a nice long cord. I take a lot of digital pictures for my office, and the speed up in moving images from camera to computer is dramatic. Nice work, Delkin!

Summary: Really easy to use
Review: This reader is really easy to use. Just put your card in and it becomes a new drive on your computer. Coupled with Ofoto's (www.ofoto.com) free uploading software which automatically comes up you stick a card in, it's pretty much a brainless activity... :-)
